This apartment is in a great location with the metro right across the street, bus stops around the corner and several supermarkets only a few minutes walk away. The bed was comfortable and the sofa bed even more so. There was ample room for our family of four. We did find the apartment to be very noisy when the windows were open and at night when trying to get to sleep. If you are a light sleeper you might need ear plugs to block the sound of the scooters. One big problem for us was the apartment reeked of cigarette smoke, and even after a week the smell was still nauseating. My husband and I both decided the smoke had to be coming from neighboring apartments, as the smell was stronger in the evening and especially in the bedroom area. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke be aware.

Just returned from spending a week at the apartment, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were a group of three woman, and found it spacious and roomy, despite all of the shopping bags that we accrued during the week. The location is perfect for heading in all directions to see the sites, and is in an area frequented by locals, rather than tourists, and we blended right in. Every imaginable food can be purchased just steps away, and an ATM was right around the corner. Having a washer/dryer in the apartment was a big plus.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife, myself and our 8 yr old grandson just finished a week long stay at this apartment and it is just as advertised. The photos and many reviews are accurate. We had a couple of little glitches but they were handled promptly and courteously. The owner and concierge are American which helps if your French is weak. One minor problem (not the fault of the owners) is that the previous guests ignored the prominent no smoking sign. That is always a risk when you rent an apartment, though. This apartment is on third floor which is not bad at all. Most apartments we considered were on the 4th or 5th floor which can be very tiring at the end of the day. The street is very quiet but easy walking distance to everything you need. We would not hesitate to rent this apartment again and are already recommending it to our friends. For groceries, take the 20 minute walk to the city market, Marche St Quentin.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment was beautiful! A wonderful alternative to the usual hotel room stay in a far-away city. The bed was very comfortable and being able to do laundry was a godsend! The location's great! 3-4 blocks away from the Pompidou Center and the Marais and a 15-20 min walk to Notre Dame and the Seine (you can practically see the apt from the north tower of Notre Dame). There are restaurants, patisseries and a grocery store nearby. Not to mention the Metro stop a block away. All in all a great experience.

Recommended for:Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a mother and daughter 5 day Paris trip. The apartment was everything that we needed to enable us to be European tourists. Well appointed, feeling safe and cozy and as a Londoner I appreciated having the underground train on the doorstep. We could use the train when our feet no longer carried us! There are food shops and bread to die for every few hundred yards. I would recommend this apartment for such a trip. Thank you Bill and Julie.

You'll never go back to a hotel in Paris once you stay in this wonderful apartment. Conveniently located in the Marais near every shop you can imagine, more restaurants than you can visit, and steps from the metro that will take you anywhere in Paris. Open the windows and feel the heartbeat of the City of Light, or close the windows in this peaceful retreat with a sofa worthy of Roman emperors. All the amenities for a comfortable stay without that pesky hotel maid trying to barge in at the most awkward moments. Looking forward to staying there again.

Bill and Julie, your apartment was one of the highlights of my 8-day stay in Paris. It was wonderful to be steps away from a metro stop and a natural-foods grocery, and just a short walk away from the Marais neighborhood's wonderful offerings, including the Pompidou, Carnavalet Museum, L'As du Falafel, Restaurant 404, etc. The apartment was extremely comfortable and a delight to call "home" during my trip. Thank you!

We loved the apartment! It was comfy with a GREAT SHOWER (rare for Paris) and bathtub, and all luxuries you can wish for when traveling away from home. I'v stayed in quite a few rentals in Paris, and this one by far was the best. We stumbled by accident (because of its proximity) to one of the greatest museums my kids and I have ever been to: Arts et Metiers, right outside the metro that leads to the apartment as well. The metro which is right outside also provides a direct line (3) to the Opera where you can take the Roissybus to the CDG airport which drops you off in front on your terminal like a taxi. My sweetheart and I spent 11 night this February in Bill & Julie's Rue Bailly apartment. This was our second stay here in less than a year and we loved it even more. We got to know the neighborhood much better this time and it really has just about all you could ask for. The Metro with 2 lines is insanely close, a 15 min. walk and you at the river. Shopping, cafe's the Bastille and Efants Rough Market all right there. It was nice to visit in the winter this time. Once again I took many baths and loved this feature. Thank you so much Bill & Julie we're really happy we were able to stay at your place again & we hope to stay again... Take Care, Eileen & Rick.

Three of us women stayed in Bill's apt. in January, and had a wonderful time in Paris. The apartment size was fine for 3 gals, and so was the hot water, no problems with all 3 of us using the shower in the morning. However, the vanity sink and shower are located within the bedroom, so this place might not work for multiple folks if you prefer your privacy. We adopted the locker room mentality, and were fine. The best thing about this apt. is the location! Just a 3 minute walk to the metro, and it's a direct shot to the major department stores (Gallerie Lafayette and Printemps)!!! The building is also very quiet, old, and comfy. Another bonus about booking with Bill is how easy he makes the whole transaction, and it was great to be met by a very nice person, who was helpful and patient with Americans. Overall I would recommend this place, it worked out very well for our needs.

Hi Bill and Julie, I can't believe we are back in the States after our Paris vacation. It was fantastic. The apartment was a comfortable delight and the close proximetry to the metro was more than convenient. The baguettes, crossiants, cheese and of course the wine is an experience in its own. There are so many things to see and do in Paris that we were busy each day. I think we visited every district by the time our vacation was over. We fell in love with Paris thanks to Bill and Julie's wonderful Dream Apartment. Perfect location to enjoy everyday life and go visit the sights. The apartment is comfortable and very stylish, everything has been thought of for comfort and convenience. This was part of a 3 week vacation, we spent 4 days here then flew to Barcelona to take a Mediterean Cruise. Although the cruise was fabulous, our favorite memories are of our Paris visit. Thank you Bill and Julie. We want to go back.

Lovely, well-appointed apartment with wooden-beam ceilings and window views down a quiet street that leads to a busy thoroughfare with multiple metro entrances for two metro lines. The shower/bath was lined with tiny, sparkly green tiles. The white bedding covered a luxurious, comfortable bed. The stainless steel kitchen countertop held microwave and stove and topped the dishwasher and refrigerator below. A large round high table of granite allowed easy viewing of the large TV in the central sofa area. Truly a gracious apartment. Within a few blocks the florist, grocery stores, pharmacy and pubs and cafes supported apartment life there. The Seine, Notre Dame, museums were within walking distance. My thanks to Bill and Julie for the rental opportunity.

This was a truly wonderful apartment. Clean, comfortable, lots of personality and a perfect location. Although compact, it was the ideal place to stay for me and three friends. We loved staying here for a full week in Bill & Julie's Paris apartment. We hope to be able to stay here again. The apartment was ideal for us. It is in a great location and so close to the metro. We found it to be charming, clean, modern, comfortable, a well equipped kitchen, good supply of towels and linens and a very yummy bath. The living room couch is roomy and inviting, it made me just want to curl up on it every time I even looked at it. The apartment was very quiet with the double paned windows and we slept really sound in the bedroom. I want to thank Bill & Julie for leaving such great details in the apartment book and sending information prior to our arrival. I had arrived not feeling so well and their book gave perfect information on who to contact in case of a medical emergency. I contacted this service who made a house call and within two days I was back to feeling like myself. Thank you again.

28th April, 2007 we would like to thank Bill & Julie for offering their apartment for rent. we enjoyed the apartment so much and the location,it was very quiet. the apartment is beautifully decorated and the day bed in the lounge room is so so comfortable after a day walking Paris. we ate out during the day and cooked simple meal at night in the apartment. it had everything we needed and the grocery store is very close. the metro was fabulous also we used it all the time and only a few steps from our apartment. all correspondence and the ease of payment was fantastic. highly recommend.

Bill, We are just returned home after a 26 hour trip from Paris by train through London and a very late Air Canada flight because of snowy weather here(minus 10 celsius) delaying flights out to Toronto. We had a great time in the apartment; it is truly a Paris dream, very comfortable and cosy and the location is really convenenient. The Marais is a wonderful area and our favourite ; we have stayed there previously but not as comfortably as in your apartment, which is thoughtfully decorated and well equipped for eating in after a long day sight seeing. We shall be recommending it to friends. Thank you for making arrangements for our stay in your apartment easy and convenient. We had a very positive stay at this apt. in Paris. The location is perfect, only minutes away from the best cafe's, shops and the heart of the Marais. The hosts, Bill and Julie Boston were very helpful in all regards and we highly recommend this Paris - Rue Baily Apartment. There is a wonderful natural foods market, called Bio Natural I think just around the corner and here you can find great organic produce, fantastic local cheeses and organic wines from France. The apt. is well appointed, with a modern and hip decor. We would love to stay at Rue Baily again.

The place at Rue Bailly ROCKS!!! Seriously, this place is close to everything. Tucked in a Cal Du Sac it has the noise level of a country home, and steps away has the energy of say.....PARIS. Notre Dame is close at hand as well as world famous Museums. I hate to say that with all the Brassaries in the area, I might have gained 20lbs in the short time I was there. Being a runner sometimes has It's challenges on vacation, but the apt at Rue Bailly is even close to a running/walking area that goes out to the Eiffel Tower. My stay at the Rue Bailly apartment was just as I expected. The owners attention to detail was helpful even before I left for Paris. Their apartment had every convenience I needed to "live in Paris" for the week. Well appointed with many stores and convenient metro stations. My stay was very easy, and comfortable. This is an important feature of internation travel. I would recommend, and stay here again.
