Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1999
I am a retired U.S. Air Force Nurse Practitioner. After living all over the world, I moved back to California in 2001. Even better, my parents moved here shortly after I did! I've discovered I truly enjoy welcoming families to my vacation condo, and I try to keep the condo as cozy and welcoming as possible--exactly what I appreciate when I go on vacation!
Why the Owner Chose Carpinteria
Carpinteria is just the most wonderful place! My family and I discovered it mostly by accident, and we have such fabulous memories of all the times we have stayed there. Somehow, the town feels quaint and festive, friendly and safe. It's a delight to be able to walk to have breakfast at a sidewalk cafe, buy groceries, browse the weekly farmer's market or get a book at the library! And I haven't even mentioned Carpinteria's jewel--the beach! Who wouldn't want to own a place in this lovely spot??
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Every time I open my door, I feel I've left the busy world behind, and I can't wait to settle in with a good cup of coffee and a great book! The beach is peaceful in the morning, with a few people out for a walk with the dog or to pick up shells. By early afternoon, families are happily ensconced on blankets, children shrieking with delight as they play in the waves. Late afternoon is a favorite time of day to enjoy the breezes and the sun on the bed upstairs, catching a cat nap or writing a thank-you note. And you don't want to miss the sun setting over the water! Even the distant oil platforms add magic, with lights winking on in the dusk. I keep the kitchen stocked with all the necessary tools to make dinner, or I take a walk to Tony's Restaurant, Corktree Cellars or any of my other local favorites. Tucked in at night, it doesn't take long before I'm off to my dreams, especially when I can hear the waves crashing on the beach in the distance....

We chose this property over another 2 because of Rani's friendly responses to our initial email. From the first contact to our final, reluctant-to-leave moments in her condo, everything was top notch and I would rate it with even more stars, if possible. The condo is just as described and pictured online and the area is very family-friendly and there is SO much to do in the area. We spent quite a bit of time at the beach (it really is 1/2 block away from condo!) and also strolling through the congenial town of Carpinteria. We were among the previous renters who did not even use their car at all because of all there is to do within walking distance. Although Carp was experiencing a heat spell while we were there (all of 85 degrees-not bad compared to Phoenix!), the condo was pleasant to be in with fans both upstairs and down. Rani has decorated it so lovingly and there was nothing we needed that was not provided. There are several amazing paintings done by her very talented artist-mother which I especially loved. Von's is a couple of blocks away for groceries. The condo complex has beautiful landscaping and is private and well-cared for. We look forward to returning regularly to this very special "Beach Haven," and hope we get to meet Rani in person sometime!

Just got back from our stay at the "Beach Haven" We had such a wonderful time. Our family of four fit nice and cozy in this condo. We spent our days going to the farmer's market, flea market, playing soccer at the park and of course boogie boarding at the beach. We did not use our car once because the condo is close to everything! I love the flowers all around the lovely grounds. Slept like a rock on the bed. In short...we did not want to leave. I have to say that in a world were customer service is all but died out...This experience with the owner is rare indeed! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful condo and obviouse love for what you do. God Bless. P.S. Love the paintings so much. Hope to come back sooooon! Love, The SHAC

We had such a lovely 9 days of rest and relaxation based at Rani's charming condo in Carpinteria. Rani is an outstanding hostess. Upon learning that the coffee maker wasn't working, she contacted her property manager and had the coffee maker replaced before we even had time to step out to buy a cup of coffee (Rani offered to pay for a Starbuck's run). Both Rani and her property manager were so helpful in making recommendations and giving us information about the area. We loved being able to walk everywhere in Carpinteria, riding the electric shuttle for just a quarter, playing UNO and Spoons with our 2 daughters at night, morning and evening walks on the beach, sandcastles and sunbathing, shopping, dining in town, manicures for the girls----everything was perfect, especially the well-equipped, attractive condo. We'd love to make it an annual event.

Spent 4 nights in this cozy condo. It was very comfortable, very quiet, perfectly situated being close to town ( 2-3 blocks) and beach ( 1 block) but not too close to either. Appointed tastefully, all equipment works ( TV, radio, coffee maker, toaster) , kitchen well supplied and workable for meal preparation. Also used the laundry facilities which were very handy to have. My mother slept upstairs to be nearer the bathroom, the futon in living room worked fine for me. Older people not able to manage stairs would find this set up difficult as the only bathroom is upstairs. Very peaceful and nice mild weather.

Escape, relax, unwind. We are doing all that and more right now while staying at this wonderful condo just steps from a beautiful, white sand beach. We cannot believe our luck at finding this cozy, quiet, well decorated home away from home. Everything we need is all here. Rani has made sure to include everything from hair dryer to candles to make sure your visit is perfect! Park your car and walk every where. Or take the practically, free shuttle ($.25) around town. Eat out or walk to Von's to buywhat ever you like to enjoy meals in the privacy of your own "home"! We agree with all the reviews on this site and we too, will be back again!

We had an outstanding stay at your condo.Everything was beyond expectations. So many small details to make us more comfortable. We will be back soon. We have told special friends about our vacation and how nicely situated the condo was. Once we were there we never drove the car. Thank you for the thoughtfulness you put into your beach haven.
