Best place to stay in the Smokies!!

This chalet is AWESOME!!!! I spent a week with my son and grandson for our family vacation. We took advantage of the private pool which we had all to ourselves, my four year old grandson had a blast. Every morning and evening our "friendly bear" put a show on for us right in front of our deck. I throughly enjoyed my suite on the second floor with my private balcony, sauna, hugh jacuzzi bathtub, private bath, flat screen tv and privacy from my son and grandson. We grilled on our deck overlooking the amazing lights of Gatlinburg every night. Our fireplace was a great way to end our family time before bed each night! Everything we could want for was provided for us at the chalet. Our neighbors were on their honeymoon and also raved about their their chalet. Whether you are looking for a private getaway or a fun filled family vacation with plenty to do in Gatlinburg, you will not find a better value!!a Thank You Jeff for giving us an opportunity to enjoy your home for our vacation!!!!!

The chalet locates on the top of the mountain. The view is great on sunny day. You will have to be on steep and narrow roads for 15-20 minutes to get there. It was quite rough for our 2009 minivan. The kitchen was well equipped. The sauna worked well. Sofa can be cleaner. You can feel the springs on the mattress. The bunk bed is literally in the no-door closet. Hot water ran out after the hot tub was filled up to 5 inches deep. Water temperature in the shower was hard to control. It was either extreme hot or icy cold. If you want to be away from people and attractions, this is the right place. I don’t recommend this property for family vacation because the location is inconvenient. There is nothing you can do after you get there. We rent it for a week but decided to leave after 4 days. The owner emailed us that he has mailed our deposit back (It means that we didn't make any damage, not like the earlier review.) but we never received it. We tried to reach him through emails and phone calls but didn't get any response.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway.

Wow, this was nice! This chalet had everything we needed with an incredible view. At night you could see the city lights off in the distance. Spectacular! The owner called us to make sure everything was alright during our stay. I could not have been more satisfied with a property!

Our Stay Was the End of August, 2010

Our experience at the chalet was OK--best features, the furnishings are beautiful and the view is nice. An outside hot tub would have made a big difference. Maintenance is not the best, the air conditioning was fair due to the system filter being completely filthy, so it was uncomfortably hot during the day and humid at night. The interier was overrun by small ants and we had to be very careful with food storage. We decided to make due since the chalet was inexpensive. However, we need to let everyone know that our $100 security deposit was not returned. I have emailed the owner a number of times, with no response. I can only deduce that he has kept the deposit on purpose to supplement the low rent. Renter beware. We have decided to spend a little more and get a better dwelling next time we visit.

Owner response:Unfortunately it appears that this renter is disgruntled to not get her deposit back. There were significant scratches to the floors as well as a nice hole in the sofa left by this group. Thanks to all our other renters who are happy with the property.

First time in Gatlinburg. Family of 5, the chalet was comfortable, quite area and the pool was a blessing with the hot weather. The travel up and down the mountain took some time so don't forget milk and bread! We can see the lights of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg from the deck at night..beautiful. Jeff was very easy to work with and on top of things. He was ready to assist if any problems existed. The kids flipped over the nightly visits from the bears...loved feeding them Mac N Cheese and marshmallows!!! Thanks so much Jeff for making our first visit and not last visit to Gatlinburg.

This Chalet is great! Really close to the pool, my kids loved the bunk beds. And my husband and I enjoyed the view from the balconies! We are already planning another visit, and definitely will be contacting Jeff for this chalet again.

Loved the Chalet! It was the the best part of our vacation. My kids loved how close we were to the pool and the bunkbeds were great. Would love to stay here again! Oh, did I mention the view!? It's FABULOUS!

Hello, Jeff. We wanted to tell you that we had a terrific time in Gatlinburg. The chalet was beautiful and we enjoyed staying there very much. After a couple of afternoons of exploring, we decided that the chalet had more to offer than anything else in the area. Except for the time I played bridge each day we stuck close to home and enjoyed the rest and relaxation. The Gatlinburg bridge tournament is a huge event that occurs every year. Absolutely the greatest chalet we have stayed in. The chalet was spotless and had everything we needed to be comfortable. All we had to take was food.... and believe me we had plenty!!!! The view was spectacular! We visit Gatlinburg several times a year, and have been for 30 years, and this is by far the greatest place we have found. Thanks again for everything.
