Why the Owner Chose Lancaster
We started out with a Bed & Breakfast that has been in business for 20 years and decided that we wanted to venture into the Vacation rental business. We purchased the two cottages in 2003 and started renovations. The Dragonfly cottage opened for rentals in 2005, and the Firefly opened a year after in 2006.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We are situated in a small town that is convenient to all the major tourism sites like Dutch Wonderland and Hershey Park. We are also close enough to Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg for day trips. This cottage was a lovely place to stay. It was very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. The owners were very nice and easy to deal with when booking, and the lemon cake they left for us was absolutely delicious. The town of Adamstown doesn't have a lot to do, but it is within driving distance of Lancaster County and lots of other attractions. We would definitely recommend this cottage to people looking to explore Lancaster County.
Owner response:We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Lancaster County. We hope to see you again soon.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

When staying in this home my family discovered its location in Adamstown along with Lancaster, which are about 25 to 30 minutes apart. Adamstown is full of antique stores with wonderful collections. We also enjoyed eating at the nearby Black Horse Inn, which uses prime meat in their hamburgers. The home is very pleasing to the eye with a display of antiques, and is convenient, sitting on a main road. The owners included some delicious sweet bread as well as milk when we arrived. Into our stay, my keys were locked into my van, some 40 minutes away from the house. The owners went out of their way to help us, enlisitng a family member who drove my husband over to my location with his set of keys. Parking is in the rear of the home, across the back yard which has a hot tub to use. The yard is shared with another rental property of the owners and I enjoyed visiting with fellow house renters. Passes to the community pool were made available for week day use, which my daughter enjoyed. Staying in the home gave the experience of small town Pennsylvania, a sense of community. A sidewalk is just outside the front door, and it is possible to walk all over town on sidewalks, something that modern day builders too often leave out.

It was a very comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day. The cake you left us was delicious! The beds upstairs were comfy and just the way all the rooms were designed made it feel like it was our home! We also loved sitting in the huge whirlpool tub. Our stay here was like it was our home! Thank-you for a nice home away from home!

Our stay here was a surprise for me, thanks to my gem of a daughter-in-law and my thoughtful husband. With my son, we all enjoyed a weekend of antiquing, beautiful weather, good dining and a cozy, welcoming house. Such a quiet street, and lovely accommodations. The pound cake was a nice touch...we felt graciously received. Thank you!

Very lovely home and very comfortable. Very clean and neat as a pin. It's very obvious that a lot of thought went into making it perfect- From the cake to the milk to all the supplies. Even my two little dogs were happy. We have rented many houses for vactions and this is by far the best. Thank you- We will be back!
