E-mails from prior guests: Dear David,
thank you for sharing your home in the black hills. It felt like home away from home and was wonderfully
decorated and equipped. The scenery was breath taking this time of the year--October-- and we enjoyed
the many tourist attractions in the area.We hope you don't retire anytime soon as we would like to visit again,
and take our family with us.
May you and your family be blessed

lLetter from a prior guest: Dear David,
We would like to thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home, during our vacation this year in the black hills area. The home met and exceeded all our needs. Seeing wildlife on the property, only added to the great outdoors feeling.
It's location was also perfect for all of our activities. Experiencing Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse were just two of the many things we did in the black hills. We could have easily spent another week there, just embracing the natural beauty
of the environment along with all the wildlife.
Thank you again for your generous hospitality.
Sincerely
Steve & Debbie Micienko

DAVID, SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET BACK TO YOU, BUT WE DID HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME AT YOUR CABIN.WEATHER WAS IN THE LOW 100'S APART FROM THE LAST 2 DAYS WHEN IT FELL SHARPLY, BUT THE TEMPERTURE INSIDE WAS ALWAYS COMFORTABLE. IT IS CERTAINLY THE MOST COMFORTABLE VACATION RENTAL WE HAVE BEEN IN (AND WE HAVE BEEN IN QUITE A FEW). lOCATION IS IDEAL FOR ALL ATTRACTIONS-NOT FAR TO GO IN ANY DIRECTION. WE'D LOVE TO COME BACK JUST TO SIT AROUND AND ENJOY THE VIEWS FROM THE DECKS. BEST WISHES AND THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY JOHN-SCOTLAND JULY-21ST-28TH,2007Did you find this review helpful? David, Thank you so much for my wonderful week in your amazing vacation rental. The house has everything one would want plus the location is so near to all the site seeing that you could do in a week. We went to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park to see all the buffalo (and there were tons and some babies), the Badlands was one of my high lights, we went to a gold mine to see how things were done back in the day, Spearfish (where part of Dances with the Wolves) was filmed, Deadwood and so much more. If you love American History and like beautiful scenery then this spot is perfect. After a full day of site seeing it was such a pleasure to come back to the cabin nestled in the pines to relax and watch the deer right off the deck. I am counting the days til I can come back to South Dakota. Again, thanks, JaneOwner response: Thanks for your great review. It is a truly beautiful place to stay. Dave Kirkland owner

David, i just wanted to take a bit to say thank you for the wonderful opportunity to stay, in your beautiful home in the hills of South Dakota. It was the first time we had ever rented a home and couldn't have asked for a better experience. There was room for all of us and the foos ball table was a huge hit with the kid's.The deer made an appearance on two days too. My hubby took in the mountain views with his coffee every morning. The ladies had fun getting our meals ready in the spacious kitchen. All and all,it was a great way for 2 families to have a fun trip in a home away from home. Thanks again KateDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

David, Our heart thanks for helping make our South Dakota vacation, such a pleasant experience. Having stayed in vacation rentals throughout the U.S, we have to rank your lovely cabin, as one of the best! Never have we been made to feel more welcome., In addition to being a first class accommodation, with all the comforts of home plus some, it was the attention to detail that made the difference. The night lights throughout the house, air fresheners in every room. All supplies provided such as soaps, shampoos, laundry detergent, kitchen staples, seasonings etc. etc. were unbelievable! Even our little dog was welcomed with a box of toys, special feed &water bowls and even a dogie bed. The dogie door and access to a penned in yard were a special convenience. Extra bedding, dozens of floor pillows and cushions kept everyone comfortable, no matter which room you were in. The catch all drawer where i found masking tape, tape, and the other items, i would expect to find in my own home was a pleasant surprise as well. And i have to mention all the well chosen furniture and unique interior decorations throughout the house, made the entire place feel like "Home". My grand daughter loved the fooz ball table. I loved the 3 deck areas and used them all. A truly beautiful and peaceful setting. Very quiet and serene. The floor plan provided separation and a place to spread out so everyone had their "Space".I could go on and on, but suffice to say in your home was an exceptional one. Being able to contact the housekeeper at any time was a very good feeling as well. And evidently you have found a good one as the entire place was exceptionally clean and well kept. We would recommend your spacious cabin with all its amenities to anyone. Roma and Bob , MissouriDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This was our first time renting a home for our vacation. I must say that from now on this is the route we plan on taking for week long vacations frome here on out. All you need is your clothes everything else is here for your use and grocery stores near by so no need to bring coolers full of food. From the deer and turkey walking thru the yard in the evening to the many games and books for your enjoyment this home has far exceded our expectations. Conveniently located near alot of tourist destinations. This has certainly been an enjoyable experience. Dave thank you very much for allowing us to spend our time in South Dakota in your amazing home. sincerely; Anie,Chad and FamilyRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so very glad, you were able to enjoy the cabin ,so much hard work has been put into it to provide all the amenities of home. Thanks for your patronage David Kirkland
