One visit and we are sure you will agree, Carmel is one of the most magical places on earth. With its breathtaking views and artistically perfect coastline, whatever it is you seek, there is a good chance you will make your discoveries here.
We have designed SunSwept-by-the Sea to fit the artistry of the area. Stepping through the front gate, you are surrounded by lush plants and flowers, creating a unique feeling of privacy. The flowing fountain adds a peaceful comfort year round.
Located on one level, the bountiful windows, skylights and vaulted ceilings create an airy, bright spaciousness. On clear days you will enjoy a beautiful ocean view from the kitchen. Flower boxes located along the side of the home are filled with bright flowers throughout the year.
The front rooms feature oak hardwood floors while the bedrooms are richly finished with Berber carpeting. Comfortable beds, along with plush linens and towels, help to make your stay even more special. The bathrooms feature hand-painted tiles and sinks.
The milk chocolate walls exhibit the work of many local artists and also the works of artisans from Santa Fe and Aspen. The living room has comfortable leather couches, wonderful for cozying up to a roaring fire in the custom-designed gas fireplace. The TV/DVD player is perfect for catching up on movies or the latest golf match. For the musically inclined, we offer a set of electronic keyboards featuring over fifty rhythms. The library is furnished with a large desk and DSL hook-up for your lap-top computer.
The kitchen is equipped with new appliances and features a gorgeous view of our many beautiful trees with the ocean as a backdrop. A washer and dryer are conveniently located behind louvered doors in the kitchen. Pots, pans, utensils and serving trays, along with a full spice rack make cooking a no-hassle joy. The hand-painted kitchen table seats four, while the dining room table seats six. The kitchen area opens out to a large, two-level deck. Enjoy breakfast under the umbrella or relax and read on the upper deck’s Adirandack chairs.
SunSwept-by-the Sea is a short five-minute walk to the heart of town; five more minutes and you’re at the ocean. Bruno’s gourmet market is two blocks down the road, convenient for those last-minute items you may need.
Our guest book shows pictures and menus from our many world-famous restaurants and galleries. Golfing, biking, walking, hiking or shopping; our guest book provides information on where to go for all of these activities and many more. The Carl Cherry and Forest theatres are just five minutes away. The newly refurbished Sunset Center features many world-class musicians and makes for a fabulous evening.

For almost 60 years we have been traveling to Carmel, we have never stayed in a home that captured the essence of Carmel as your colorful did. It didn't take us long to figure out that you are a talented artist and the creator of so much whimsical art in your home. Your notes for the house were invaluable and the delicious fortune coolkies were so welcoming. We felt it a joy to call SunSwept by-the -Sea "home" for AT&T. It was as though we were staying at the home of a good frend with all your delightful art surrounding us. The location of the home was great. Dear Celeste, Thank you for sharing your spacious and gracious home with us.
