Location: Negril, Jamaica, Caribbean (One and a half hours west of Montego Bay)

Accommodations:  Beach House/Villa, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 11)

Enjoy the sun drenched days of Negril on a two acre beach front estate offering uncompromised privacy with its two private beaches where swimsuits are optional. Only the hotel crowds are missing and the planned daily activities of resorts.

With its four bedroom and guest cottage, this villa/beachhouse will accommodate groups and families up to eleven for the vacation of a lifetime. There are two master bedrooms downstairs each with a four poster, full-size bed under a canopy of mosquito netting. Each bathroom opens onto an outdoor shower for rinsing off after swimming. Upstairs there are five twin beds and a bathroom. There is a back staircase which can be used as a separate entrance especially after swimming.

The staff provides 24 hour service and security every day of the week. A household guide is available in all the rooms at the house and can be printed from the web site. It requires an Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Shaded by centuries old cotton trees (kapok), almond and sea grape trees, the broad expanse of the lawns and beaches makes an ideal setting for a wedding in Jamaica. The seawall which juts into the sea is flanked by two beaches. Dining on the seawall for any meal of the day could be habit forming. Hammocks are all about the property and reflect an age old tradition in the Caribbean.

The word, hammock, is an Arawak Indian word, so are the words tobacco, barbecue and canoe. What a life! Thank you, Tom Robbins in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues for that little bit of linguistic history.

Negril has been called the Reggae capital of the world with a different live show every night. All the venues are within short walking or driving distances. Some guests have even enjoyed the shows sitting on the sea wall around a bonfire listening to the music as it bounces off the water from venues a mile away! As a result of a strong lobbying effort, the shows are now required to end at 1:00 AM in respect for those who would rather listen to the waves and the more natural sounds of the night.

With its vaulted living room ceiling the villa will resonate on a stereo system transforming it into an instrument itself. Cable TV, Internet access (DSL and Wi-Fi) and fax will only serve as reminders from where you came.

Snorkeling gear is available to explore the reefs, coral gardens and caves surrounding the property along a thousand feet of sea front. Two sea kayaks which are available to the guests at no extra cost. The kayaks can be rigged for one or two persons and carry an anchor and line for snorkeling either along the cliffs or out on Long Bay among the numerous patch reefs. Unfortunately, we no longer have a sailboat nor the windsurfers. The personal workout center is on the veranda overlooking the sea.

For the land lubber who is not so adventurous, there is a turtle pond with three loggerhead turtles to feed and pet. These were given by local fishermen to keep them out of someone else's stew pot.

Airport transfers and excursions are available.

Negril Hills Golf Club is just five minutes from the property. The tennis court has recently been converted back to its original clay surface. Please contact us if you want the availability of a tennis professional; we will do our best to contact one for you.

Villas are ideal for family and groups up to eleven people.This five bedroom villa/ beach house has its own private beaches. Hotels could not provide you with a more personable service than our staff which includes a housekeeper, cook, gardener and security guard from dusk to dawn. There is a fax, cable TV and a CD/stereo system. There are room safes in the main house and the cottage.

Resorts and hotels have long lines or require reservations for meals at specified times. Not here. Breakfast at 11:00 AM, lunch at 4:00 PM or dinner at 8:00 PM, no problem. Our staff will prepare legendary Jamaican cuisine while you enjoy the comfort and security of a large private estate.

  • In November 2006, I got married in Negril and had my Wedding Reception here at LLantrissant. I booked the beach house for the weekend and my bridesmaids and I stayed here and had such an amazing stay. Words can't begin to express how beautiful the premises are, and how tranquil and peaceful it is. At nighttime the lull of the sea, soothes you to sleep. The house by itself has an old rustic charm with 5 bedrooms, which sleep 10 people total and a seperate guest house, which sleeps 2 people a total of 12 people can stay at Llantrissant, and each room has it's own special quality. There is a kitchen where you can cook your own meals or you can have someone there to prepare meals for you. The beachfront grounds are so beautiful with a tennis court and turtle pond, hammock for lazy days among other things and the location is in such close proximity (Walking Distance) to Negril's Beaches and Nightlife, or you can explore the West End's Well overlooked cliffs. Funny thing is I have been up and down West End Road for years and never knew this place existed. Driving by, it is almost hidden and you can actually miss it if your not careful. But after entering the gate, I was so surprised at how much of a hidden gem this was. I'd like to call it Negril's best kept secret. My Wedding was the most amazing event. People are still talking about it. I'd love to come back in a few years and renew my vows with my Husband Mark and do it all over again here! Craig and Cherry Travis, the owners, were so nice and accomodating to us. Our Wedding Reception was a magical event and I wouldn't have done it anywhere else.

The house is spectacular, the setting is perfection, the staff are the most marvelous people one would hope to meet and come to know. This was my first visit to Jamaica and I feel that I just left my home. Miss Helen (love you!!!), Belinda, Joy, Otis, Killian, Zeke (LOVE that dog!), and Abby...Thank you!!!

  • My husband and I got married on the smaller of the 2 beautiful beaches. It was the most amazing ceremony and it was our dream wedding. We and our friends and family staid 1 week on the property and it was wonderful. House and staff were great and it could not have been more perfect. We plan on returning!

  • This place is magical. The property made us feel like we were in a Sommerset Maughm novel. The staff is wonderful and the food was amazing. All of our best dinners were there. Don't worry about the lack of air conditioning; the trade winds take care of that. Negril is a party town, so it's a good idea to pack earplugs because it can get noisy at night.

    There has been a successful effort to tone down the volume coming from the music venues but sometimes it can be loud. We are still trying to get it under control but it is an entrenched Jamaican tradition.

  • Twelve of us stayed at this property in March for our wedding. Our family absolutely adored the staff, property, and location. We felt like royalty. Ms. B's cooking is delicious, Otis, the gardener, is a lot of fun, and the added security at night was comforting. I have been to Jamaica 9 other times and this, by far, was the best property I have ever stayed at. Its location is awesome, only a 10 minute walk to 7 mile beach, not that you even want to leave the property. The canoes were awsome to take out at sunrise. There are not enough words to say how immensely wonderful Llantrissant is!!
