This was our 6th visit to Negril and by far the best. We have stayed in several of the high end properties in Negril but enjoyed Llantrissant the best. The privacy is nowhere else to be found in Negril and we even had massages out of the veranda and seawall. We enjoyed the beach, sea kayaks, turtle pond and shell collecting. The staff is one of the highlights of the property. Ms. Ann and Paulette were wonderful cooks and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Mr. Benji and Ozzy (the drivers) are great and took us out on several excursions including the YS Falls and the Blue Hole. Even Sam the dog joined us in swimming in the ocean. The house is very historical from an era long gone . I was a little concerned about no air conditioning (since I keep my house 72 degrees) but we were all quite comfortable. There are fans in all the rooms and the house practically sits on the water so there are breezes constantly. Previous reviewers had complained about noise however, we only heard loud music on Sunday which comes from the local community center where the locals gather to hear various DJs. We actually walked over there to hear it. The music ended around 1:00 am so no big deal. We hope to return next year and stay longer. Thanks for a great vacation!!!

Thanks for everything, we had a wonderful experience that was directly impacted by the beautiful house/property and quality of the staff. I have to provide extra praise to the staff, who made the experience so much warmer and unique through thier assistance and added local flavor to our trip. I am very hopeful that you now have a repeat customer, and will tell anyone that is ever looking for a Carribean location to consider Llantrissant. Just amazing.

The stay can only be described as wonderful. The food was wonderful; the accommodations were wonderful. The staff was phenomenal. Miss Paulette and Miss Ann were extremely gracious and kind and along with Roy and Benji, provided any assistance needed and went above and beyond to grant all requests. The villa is a blend of natural and historic beauty (with great scenery) that offered fun, comfort and security (thanks Charma and Barry). There was some loud music in the area one day but it ended promptly ~midnight (it was enjoyable music, but my parents' room faced the street and they found it less so). Thanks Llantrissant for sharing your little slice of paradise.

I visited Llantrisant in May and had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable, pleasant, and authentic. Adults and teens all enjoyed it. We spent a lot of time on the spacious veranda soaking up the amazing view. Having our own beach was the highlight. There was excellent snorkeling right there, with no need to hire a boat. We also enjoyed the kayaks and just playing in the warm water. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Negril itself didn't thrill me as a destination, but everything we needed was available to us on this special property and we were very happy to hang out and enjoy it. The owner was gracious answering our questions and the photos on the website certainly described the property very well. There are numerous pretty restaurants nearby.

Me and 8 of my girlfriends just spent 7 days at this house. It was truly an amazing place. From the moment we arrived until the morning we left to come home- it was paradise! The staff is wonderful. Food was outstanding. This has definitely been put on my list of places for a return visit. If you are looking for a vacation that is truly relaxing and laid back... i highly recommend that you try this place.

Myself and several members of my family just spent the 2nd week of January at the Llantrisant House in Negril. The house and property were just wonderful and we had a lovely time. The staff was excellent and they took very good care of us. The local fisherman came to the property so we could pick the lobsters and fresh fish needed for our dinners. Georgia, Lindsey and Ann cooked up some great meals. A local masseuse came and gave massages on the front veranda and the snorkel boat came to our private beach and picked up everyone who wanted to go snorkling ... what a life! We ventured out to 7 mile beach, the waterfalls, Rick's and dined at a couple of different restaurants. We loved the resident dogs, Abbey and Zek and would like to recommend glucosamine for Zek's bad hips. The only complaint would be the late night music on the weekends but when in Rome ...

My six year old has been asking me to go back to Jamaica every week for the past five months! The best thing about our stay were the people. The girls who cook amazingly, clean up and provide laughs. The security guard and the driver were all very friendly and helpful. We loved staying in a house with as much history as you can find. The cozy coves and turtle pond, the gardens and the nooks in the house provided a new adventure every minute. What a memorable Christmas. Eating jerk chicken and lobster for lunch....mmmmm. Thank you for having us. We will be back one of these days.....
Owner response:Anna, Of course, everyone loved having you there and looks forward to your return. Craig

During a visit in December we experienced several issues. This space is not large enough for our complete review but to summarize: The owner did not tell us that after receiving our deposit the tennis court was damaged and unusable. This was our reason for selecting the property and we were very clear about that. No resolution was offered and we were told we could not get our money back to make other arrangements. There was limited communication helping us prepare for the trip which was why we did not know the store would be closed and we would be left without any food or beverage until the store opened. The staff charged us for cleaning supplies and paper towels at the house and told us that the owner often gives the guests and staff contradicting instructions. The recommended transportation was a barely operational van. After arriving at the house my son’s back pack and several items of clothing were stolen. The owner insisted we must have lost it at the airport although we have a photo of my son with the bag on the van. Noise was unbearable and even if you are not sleeping in bed at the time a conversation can be difficult with the loud bass playing in the neighboring areas. There were plumbing issues the first day requiring major construction the second morning and made the showers unusable until after that time. There were also people allowed in to view the property without our permission, invading our privacy. Finally, the owner told us we were not "environmentally friendly" because we chose to have our towels washed daily. Ironically the sprinkler on the tennis court (which we could not use) was running constantly. The most disappointing thing is that we attempted to address all of our issues with the owner of the home who took no responsibility for anything and dismissed us again. I asked him to help us resolve the issue of theft in some way. His response was to ask us not to correspond with him as he does not agree with any of our feedback. While I highly recommend renting a home in Jamaica and experiencing what is generally good hospitality, I definitely do not recommend you do it at this home unless you have low expectations. NOTE: It also says on the property description "Resorts and hotels ...require reservations for meals at specified times. Not here... or dinner at 8:00 PM, no problem. Our staff will prepare ...." This is not the case as we requested to have breakfast at 9 AM and dinner at 8 PM each night and never got it.
Owner response:We explained to the guests that the clay tennis court got washed out by the inordinate rains of the summer and fall and could not be rehabilitated. They accepted that this was out of our control and never asked for any rate reduction. We exchanged more than twenty e-mails in preparation for their trip. Our driver is a respected member of JUTA and meets all the requirements of the tourist board. He even provided transportation to the guests around town at rates below the posted rates. The alleged loss of the child's backpack probably took place at the airport although the guests state that they have photographs of the bag in the van but they have not sent us this evidence. The previous guests who came to the yard were orderly and respectful and wanted to show their friends the turtles in the turtle pond. Regarding the plumbing, we had a plumber and carpenter on the property as soon as it was discovered that one of the showers was not working properly. We have asked our guests to hang their towels up to dry rather than change the towels daily but these guests just threw them on the floor with total disregard for the added work. What surprised us is that they are both in the hotel industry which asks their guest to be environmentally friendly. What they are failing to point out is their total disregard of our rental policy which is based on occupancy and the fact that they added three extra guests for four nights without informing us. When I confronted them on this and asked them to be compensated for the extra guests, they pleaded ignorance when, in fact, the rates are posted on the website. We even had given them the off-season rates despite the fact that six of the nine days fell during the peak season. I finally agreed to let them stay without the extra payment just to allow them to enjoy the remaining days in the spirit of Christmas. No other guests have ever done this. Regarding meals, our staff is on the property from 0830 and we even offered to have an extra staff member stay until after they were served their evening meal at 2000. One staff member was concerned for her safety on returning home at such a late hour so she had to leave early. Overall, the staff including our driver and manager had the impression that these set of guests wanted everything for free. Based on the experience of our other guests we are proud of what we have to offer and will continue to provide the greatest hospitality to our guests in a unique environment.

We had an amazing family reunion in Negril!the place was not only charming but a perfect getaway with family and babies. The grounds are breathtaking and the beach just for the house was a treat. The staff is probably the property's strongest asset.Miss you all!Everyone one of us (10) had a great time not to be forgotten. The only draw back was the cottage that is noisy at night because it is on the road and the traffic goes all the time.

Last October my family made arrangement to stay a week at Llantrissant, Negril, unfortunately only 2 out of our party of 8 could attend. In the end my older sister and I spend one glorious week, absorbing the sun by wading in the shallow beaches just b4 dawn, enjoying breakfast on the ocean wall, and taking daily trips into town. The staff at Llantrissant, Negril were courteous, helpful and friendly. The meals were delicious and the ambiance gave us a feeling of home. This is a must do in our list of vacations spots revisit...

This was the best vacation ever. The house was clean, and the pictures do not do it justice. The private beaches were great, the turtles were adorable and the house staff were more than helpful. We went to 7 mile beach as well, and having your own private beach (without folks trying to sell you things every 5 seconds) is truely a blessing. The house is located right in town, but once you pass through the gate it is your own very private estate. The house is in walking distance to a lot of things (ATM, restaurants, shopping etc) and very quick drives to other things you might want to see like 7 Mile Beach, Ricks, etc. We always felt very safe on the property with the security and everyone was very friendly in general. The home owner was very helpful when booking, answering all my many questions and providing advice when asked. I highly recommend this vacation house.

I vacationed last week at Llantrissant with family and friends and we all had a wonderful time! This house is amazingly spacious; we all had more than enough room to roam and do our own thing or come together in one area. There was always plenty of very comfortable furniture to accommodate all of us. The staff (including dogs Abbey and Zeke) were absolutely the highlight of our stay. We felt well protected and secure at all times and were given high quality service for our entire stay. All of the staff and outside vendors were extremely friendly and helpful! I would feel very comfortable staying here with just my girlfriends or just my significant other. We will definitely book this property again in the near future.

Enjoyed three amazing weeks here in February 2010 with a bunch of friends from Boston. Location is absolutely spectacular (you are surrounded by water), service is smooth and gracious, everything was first rate. Our friends with children were delighted with the beautiful and safe private beaches. The staff, Ms. Betty, Ann, Georgia and Otis, do their best to make sure your stay is fun, safe and relaxing - we miss them already!! The food at the house was so good we rarely ate out. Be sure to request Ms. Betty's coconut cornmeal porridge and curried shrimp - better yet, just give her the money and let her do all the shopping and menu prep based on what she finds best (though it was fun going around with her to do the food shopping!). Be sure to tour the grounds - the gardens are gorgeous and the landscaping is lovingly maintained. Looking forward to a return visit!!

A group of friends and I spent the week here over the Christmas and New Years Holiday ringing in 2010. There were 10 of us total. We enjoyed it so much we rebooked for Thanksgiving 2010. The house is very safe, there is 24 hour security. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. The food was great and the woman who cooked for us followed every request we had. I can only say good things about Llantrassant, when I got home I bragged for weeks about our accommodations and the fun we had in Negril.

Myself and 10 other graduate students stayed here for Spring Break 2009. The owner was very easy to communicate with and made sure our stay went smoothly. The staff was friendly, helpful and gave us lots of great info on the local happenings. I highly recommend the optional home cooked meals which were an excellent deal and better then most restaurants we visited. The location provided a good combination of privacy and proximity to Negril beach attractions. Had a wonderful time and would stay here again. Thanks!

Ahhh...Where to begin...Llantrisant is by far the absolute best place we have ever vacationed at with our family. Our first visit to Negril was back in 2001 and our family of five stayed at an all inclusive resort. While we had a good time it was not the vibe we were going for, hard to mingle with the locals when you are at an all inclusive! Hence our search began for a different type of vacation experience. We happened upon Llantrisant via the internet and hesitantly went for our second family vacation with some friends in tow. To date, I believe we have been back three or four times. There really are no words to describe the experience of staying there. It is pure magic and relaxation at it’s most fundamental form. The property is filled with history, unpretentious beauty, and calming ocean breezes. The staff is amazing and is there to fulfill your every desire, they are a part of your family by the end of your stay. We have made lifelong friends from our many visits to this special place. I, myself can not go back to Negril, unless I can stay at Llantrisant. If you desire relaxation, privacy, good food, great people, and being pampered then this is the place for you! Thanks to the Travis’s for sharing their little piece of heaven!

Eight of us stayed at Llantrissant from October 15-19 and had a wonderful time!! We loved the house and the grounds were beautiful. You couldn't be closer to the water - the house couldn't be more than 20 steps to the water. But what makes this property so special is the staff - Miss Betty, Georgia, Otis and Benji!! They take care of you like their own family. It was so nice to have someone to go grocery shopping for us and to cook us delicious meals. Be sure to have the jerk chicken and pork! We even had lobsters delivered to the house one night!! And to add to our relaxation a Jamaican massage therapist, Nadine, came to the house to give everyone massages!! The only negative thing about this property is the nightly noise on the weekends from the nearby clubs and resorts. However, I think the noise is bad anywhere in Negril. If you are a very light sleeper, this property is not for you. I would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return again sometime soon!!
Owner response:I have recently spoken (12/08/09) with the new Superintendent of Police in Negril and he assures me that his mission is to keep the noise under control and has gone so far as to provide his personal cell phone for the guests to call if there is no response from the Station regarding the music.

This was a lovely place to stay. The house is absolutely magical and so is the beach. However, there is extremely loud music lasting late into the night, so if you are not a partier, this is not the place for you. I did not feel well rested after this vacation.
Owner response:As of May 2010, the music scene has definitely come under control of the authorities and is no longer annoying. Also, all the shows end by midnight. There is no longer the timber rattling, glass vibrating music from venues across the water. All of this came as a result of a new superintendent of police who promised to enforce The Noise Abatement Act of Jamaica, 1997.

In November 2006, I got married in Negril and had my Wedding Reception here at LLantrissant. I booked the beach house for the weekend and my bridesmaids and I stayed here and had such an amazing stay. Words can't begin to express how beautiful the premises are, and how tranquil and peaceful it is. At nighttime the lull of the sea, soothes you to sleep. The house by itself has an old rustic charm with 5 bedrooms, which sleep 10 people total and a seperate guest house, which sleeps 2 people a total of 12 people can stay at Llantrissant, and each room has it's own special quality. There is a kitchen where you can cook your own meals or you can have someone there to prepare meals for you. The beachfront grounds are so beautiful with a tennis court and turtle pond, hammock for lazy days among other things and the location is in such close proximity (Walking Distance) to Negril's Beaches and Nightlife, or you can explore the West End's Well overlooked cliffs. Funny thing is I have been up and down West End Road for years and never knew this place existed. Driving by, it is almost hidden and you can actually miss it if your not careful. But after entering the gate, I was so surprised at how much of a hidden gem this was. I'd like to call it Negril's best kept secret. My Wedding was the most amazing event. People are still talking about it. I'd love to come back in a few years and renew my vows with my Husband Mark and do it all over again here! Craig and Cherry Travis, the owners, were so nice and accomodating to us. Our Wedding Reception was a magical event and I wouldn't have done it anywhere else.

This place is magical. The property made us feel like we were in a Sommerset Maughm novel. The staff is wonderful and the food was amazing. All of our best dinners were there. Don't worry about the lack of air conditioning; the trade winds take care of that. Negril is a party town, so it's a good idea to pack earplugs because it can get noisy at night.
Owner response:There has been a successful effort to tone down the volume coming from the music venues but sometimes it can be loud. We are still trying to get it under control but it is an entrenched Jamaican tradition.

Twelve of us stayed at this property in March for our wedding. Our family absolutely adored the staff, property, and location. We felt like royalty. Ms. B's cooking is delicious, Otis, the gardener, is a lot of fun, and the added security at night was comforting. I have been to Jamaica 9 other times and this, by far, was the best property I have ever stayed at. Its location is awesome, only a 10 minute walk to 7 mile beach, not that you even want to leave the property. The canoes were awsome to take out at sunrise. There are not enough words to say how immensely wonderful Llantrissant is!!
