Want to see how to really enjoy your Florida vacation? Come stay with us at Bob Hope Drive in Nokomis. We are a leisurely stroll away from Nokomis Beach on Casey Key, just across the Intracoastal Waterway. If you want to wander at will, without the hassle of crowds and traffic, this is the place to be.
We are just ten minutes south of Sarasota and five minutes north of historic Venice. Your restaurant choices range from a short walk to the best chowder in Florida at Pelican Alley, which is about halfway between the house and the beach, and Pop’s Sunset Grill is just a few steps further, to a short drive to the many choices offered in Sarasota and Venice.
Your recreation opportunities range from boat and jet ski rental at Gulf Harbor Marina, they also offer transient boat storage, just down the street, between Pop’s and Pelican Alley, to Nokomis Beach, bike riding up and down Casey Key, drum circle at sunset Wednesday and Saturday at the beach, or easy day-trips to Tampa, Disney World, Universal and all the "Wally World" attractions. Or, there are many State Parks within ½ hour driving distance. Like golf? Courses are everywhere, and we have only scratched the surface.
Your trip is not complete without a drive or walk to the Venice Inlet North Jetty for sunrise or sunset. From 5:30 AM to about an hour after sunset, these nice people are open to serve your food, drink, live bait and conversation. Many a day has been whiled away at the Jetty.
Now that you are convinced, let me tell you about our almost on the Beach House. Decorated in a Florida beach house motif, our cottage offers two bedrooms and two full baths, a large living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, Florida room and screened lanai with a two person hot tub. An outside deck, with table and chairs, allows you to take in as much Florida sunshine as you wish.
The master suite includes a private bath with body massage shower, king size bed and walk in closet. The second bedroom features two full size beds, a large closet with adjacent bath, featuring tub and shower. Both bedrooms, living room, dining room and Florida room are carpeted.
Our 16x18 feet lanai features a dining area which seats six and two lounge chairs, which are perfect for relaxing after a hard day of relaxation.
Beach towels and chairs are also provided. Publix is just moments away, as well as CVS pharmacy, liquor stores and other necessities.
Since you have read this far, it is only fair to let you in on one more old Florida secret. On Thursday's from 11am until 1 am, the Banjo Society holds sway at Snook Haven, just about 10 minutes away in Venice. We will provide more information later, but picture 75 or so banjo players showing off their talent on a lazy Thursday afternoon.
