  My friends and I recently spent the weekend at this beautiful cottage in Dewey Beach. We had a great time and were very happy with what we paid for. I saw a recent poster complain of ant infestation. We did not notice any ants or bugs during our 3 day stay. The cottage was very cozy and the host was more than welcoming. The location was ideal and we would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Dewey Beach. We will definitely be back in the future.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

  This cottage has great potential; however, there was an ongoing ant infestation in the kitchen. There was no stove, just a large convection microwave oven. There was no cork screw, no tongs, no cutting board but tons of misquitoes in the surrounding yard due to the large amount of clutter strewn about. The outdoor shower is shared among the 3 cottages as is the very dirty small outdoor grill. The cottage was dark and a little dirty. Location was awesome! 3 peach trees on the property.

  Owner response: I have discovered that happy people are happy with everything. Unhappy people are unhappy with everything. Just the same, I am sorry that her week was less than perfect. I live in the cottage next door. I make myself available to address any concerns, but I cannot address issues that aren't raised. Please allow me to respond to some of the concerns raised in this review. ANTS: There was no pre-existing ant problem. In fact, I did not find any ants on the counters after they left. STOVETOP: I don't provide a stove top for my guests because one of my previous beach houses burned down due to a pot left on the stove. In lieu of that, I provide a variety of cooking options which include a convection microwave, electric fry pan, toaster oven, electric wok, crock pot, and an outdoor grills. I will be updating my listing to clarify the cooking options available. TONGS: In the past, guests have told me that this is the best appointed cottage that they've ever seen but kitchen tools sometimes migrate. Replacement is immediate upon request. MOSQUITOS: The state of Delaware used to spray the area for mosquitos using crop-spraying planes, but this service is no longer offered. Be assured that I routinely monitor the property for potential mosquito breeding areas because I live there. DARK? The cottage boasts rich wood walls and ceilings and new white travertine stone floors and countertops, mirrors, light wall art, quilts, and white lamp shades (see photos.) SHOWER: Each cottage has a private indoor shower, and guests are also welcome to use the large, private, outdoor shower. The sunny outdoor shower offers lighting for night showers, a chair for midmorning nude sun bathing, and lovely flowers planted at the base. I've been renting these cottages for over ten years, and there has never been a complaint about the outdoor shower. I am planning to update my listing on many points and will consider this feedback as I do so. I need to add in the free wireless internet, new flat screen TVs, the new front load washing machine, and new high capacity water heaters. I do my very best to ensure that my guests have everything they need to have a happy time at the beach. I pride myself on the cleanliness of my pet-friendly guest cottages, and I welcome feedback from any of my guests on how I can improve them.
