My husband and I stayed for a wonderful week at Adagio Cottage. It exceeded our expectations. The cottage is beautiful and well-maintained. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. The owners are also very warm, gracious and helpful. We loved our stay and can't wait to go back and enjoy the crystal clear water and soft sugary sand of the deserted beach. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy your significant other, this is it. You can grill a wonderful meal and enjoy it on the porch with a beautiful ocean view and no one to bother you. The half-hour drive into town isn't that bad, but staying in is so much better.
Owner response:Dear Kathryn and John you are welcomed back anytime. It is wonderful to hear that others enjoy our piece of paradise as much as we do. We appreciated the good conversations and your newspaper and tech expertise. Keep well and hurry back. All the best Del and Bill

Wow, what can I say. Over delivered on every front. Air conditioned beach house 200 feet from the water, telephone, internet and satellite tv. Fully featured kitchen and fantastic master en-suite. Nearest supermarket 20 miles away, but nearest beach diner/bars a mere 2/3 miles away. A car a must have. The owners are next door and offer just the right amount of help and advice. They even let me put ham radio antennas and wires up with encouragement and support. Saw few other people on the beach. I will be back !!!
Owner response:Delighted you enjoyed our piece of paradise George. Look forward to seeing you back here soon. Wishing you smooth travels. All the best Del and Bill

Our last stay was just as amazing as our first. My wife and I were engaged in the Bahamas 3 years ago and while we have stayed at various places we continue to come back to the paradise that is Adagio. We love the worlds best beach that runs for miles. Being to various places in the world I have never seen a beach and sandbar as amazing as it is at Adagio. If you love getting away for a romantic getaway or just to relax and get your mind reset to a more manageable pace this is deffinitely the place. Dell and Bill thank you very much for another amazing stay in Paradise and congratulations on the rennovations the place is looking better then ever. Until next time........... Chris and Jen
Owner response:Dear Jen and Chris; it is always a pleasure having you two visit. Please hurry back soon to enjoy Adagio. Big hugs Del and Bill.

We got to spend a week of relaxation and fun! I got to spend a week playing radio! This house is perfect for a long getaway and a place to unwind. Over the week we stayed at the house, we encountered four people on the beach. Most days it was miles of vigin beach and solitude. On a clear night, the star gazing is amazing! You are about 25 miles from the big towns, and that suited us just fine. There is a gas station (with some food items) if you forget something. The cracked conch and cracked lobster at Bishops (five miles away) is incredible! I got to play ham radio and the location is amazing. Very quiet and secluded. Lots of good signals! I left an HF6V vertical for others to use. Enjoy and take care of the antenna for future visitors. I'd recommend Del and Bill's place to anyone who'd like to totally get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Enjoy some quiet time on the beach and relax in this beautiful cottage!
Owner response:Thanks Rich, a pleasure having you with us and learning more about ham radio. The equipment you left is safely stored for the next ham visitors. Hurry back. Del and Bill

Wow! The perfect vacation - didn't want to leave. We loved being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of "touristy" areas and just listen to the gentle ocean waves. I pinched myself every single time I went out to the beach to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Stunning clear/turquoise water, white sand and absolutely no one around on the beach. Like having our own paradise. Very nice to have a king sized bed, comfy pillows, in-house laundry, internet and fully equipped kitchen and bbq. The grocery stores in town have everything you need (and very well-priced liquor) and the Bahamian people are friendly and helpful. Bahama John's beachside grill is a short 15-minute drive away if you don't feel like cooking, and he boasts the best ribs on the island. A gas station 3 minutes away carries any items you forgot at the grocery store and while we didn't sample it, the food in their little "restaurant" smelled delicious too. Adagio's large screened porch provides the perfect place to enjoy your meals while looking out over the lovely yard and out into the ocean. The ocean is full of treasures to be seen and enjoyed - we saw several manta rays, a seahorse, a barracuda and crabs galore. The yacht club is about 20 minutes away if you want to look at gorgeous boats and enjoy lunch. At the other end of the island, Paradise Cove has beautiful snorkeling along a coral reef - worth the drive but on our last day a local told us that the reef just down the beach from Adagio is the same if not better. All the comforts of home with a beautiful private beach just steps away... we loved Adagio!!
Owner response:Dear Rachel and Dale...it was a pleasure having you here at Adagio. It is wonderful when we have guests such as yourselves that enjoy the space and the tranquility Adagio has to offer. It was great that you met so many local residents and that you had the opportunity to see such great marine life. We look forward to seeing you here again very soon. Keep well. Del and Bill Willms

I have rented several homes through VRBO in the US, Mexico and now the Bahamas and this was the first time I felt that the rental was lower quality than I expected. The beach at Adagio is fantastic, particularly at low tide when you can walk for miles. We had a magical moment at sunset one evening as we watched a dolphin swim by in the clear water. But the accommodations are NOT in great shape. One bathroom is old and cruddy, and the other is so small that the sink is in the bedroom. Bedrooms close with very noisy folding plastic doors, limiting privacy. While the photos on the web make the house seem minimally decorated, in reality every wall is jammed with the owners' artworks. Be warned that you are staying in her gallery - so make sure you like her artwork before you book the house. Finally, be aware of how remote the location of the house really is - you are looking at about 45 minutes drive each way to town for a meal or to the grocery store or any other services.
Owner response:Dear Diane; Glad you had a magical mother/ daughter moment at Adagio! As you say, the beach at Adagio is fantastic, particularly at low tide when you can walk for miles…and, that you had the opportunity to watch a dolphin swim by in the clear water was truly magical. You are correct. Adagio Beach Cottage is out of town away from the tourist crowd. It seems to be what most guests find as a big plus. The open concept of the rustic cottage and its large deck, we have been told, provides an airy island living feeling to Adagio… and yes one is staying in our Island Art Gallery, again said to be a pleasant native touch. Thank you for your visit. Del and Bill

Best vacation ever! We were looking for a romantic and relaxing vacation to escape the horrible Canadian winter and that is exactly what we were treated with. We enjoyed the private white sand beach and walking out at low tide and snorkelling in the coral reef just off shore. The cottage was very well kept and outfitted with everything we needed. Del and Bill were amazing hosts and Adagio is so much more fun and has so many more benefits than staying at a resort. Waking up every morning to the ocean breeze and amazing sunrises was something we will remember forever. I recommend getting a car to explored the island like we did. We found all the locals to be very nice and we felt quite comfortable, safe, and relaxed everywhere we went. The Grand Bahama Island life is something special!
Owner response:thank you Stacey and Derek you guys were special glad you enjoyed Adagio hurry back Del and Bill

The cottage is fabulous, worth every penny and ten times better than any hotel room you could stay in. We wanted a secluded beautiful get away and thats what Adagio gave us. The beach is fantastic, the water and surroundings pristine, and the atmosphere tranquil. I have already recommended to all my friends and we hope to be back someday. A special vacation spot.

We had a wonderful honeymoon week at Adagio Cottage. The house is lovely and cozy, the beach and water spectacular and all the locals friendly. Go to Diamond Sunrise and have conch fritters. Ask Doris about events on the island and where to find the best local food. Have a Bahama Mama while you chat. We recommend the day trip to Peterson's Cay for kayaking and snorkeling. Chad is a great guide if you can get him. Best of all is the restful, quiet and beautiful Adagio and all that comes with it. Thanks to Del and Bill for warm hospitality, a bottle of champagne and a special sand dollar. We're taking back fond memories as well as a suitcase full of beach treasures.

We have had such a wonderful time this week here on the island and staying in your cottage! The house is wonderful and the beach couldn't be better - we felt like the whole ocean was ours. From sort of early morning swims to visiting Port Lucaya during the day or napping the day away to sitting out on the beach at night - it has all been perfect and perfectly relaxing. I really hate the idea of leaving later today. Thanks so much for letting us get away from it all at Adagio.

My friend from London, and myself from Fort Lauderdale, originally from Zimbabwe, Africa, and friends for 35 years, decided to spend out 50th birthdays together at Adagio. We wanted peace and quiet, far away from the crowds, and we got that and more! Bill and Dell are like members of your own family, who are there is you need them, but also give you privacy as well. The beach has beautiful white sand, the sea an aquamarine color, hardly any waves and warm and clear, and you can spend hours on the beach without ever knowing that time has flown by! We would come back in a heartbeat! We have no hesitation in telling anyone to go to this place if you need a break. About 20 kms. from town, and easy road accessibility, easy to find your way around and has all the luxurious one would fine in their own home. It was the best holiday we had and we have our collection of shells here to prove it! No need to go anywhere else on the island, this is the best place of all!

After a beautiful week and a half at the Adagio Cottage we are sad to be leaving this morning. What an incredible view to wake up to every morning. The coulour and the warmth of the water is just magic. I think our highlights have been Michael catching bonefish on his flyrod and I couldn't believe it when I caught one right out in front of the cottage. We really hope to come back sometime.

Where to begin...after much research about various rental homes, we decided on Adagio. We were in awe of the view and absolutely enjoyed opening all the french doors and feeling the cool breeze and hearing the ocean. Never even turned on the A/C, or the TV.

My paints are set up on the porch and tonight I'll have to pack them. Fantastic trip. Charles watched Tarzan, Patton and the golf channel and read 3 books. I read one and a half. There is a pelican who flys by about 6.00 pm every day. It was the best.
