A Beautiful Place to Enjoy a Beautiful Lake

Sanctuary

I have been coming back to this house for five years. It is the perfect vacation rental. It all starts with the lake. There are few lakes as beautiful as Higgins Lake. It is plenty big enough to enjoy any kind of water sport without feeling crowded. The east side location of this home is particularly nice for sailing and windsurfing. The house itself is clean and comfortable. Everything you need for cooking and serving large meals is available. Enjoy your meals from the porch overlooking the lake, the large dining room, the "breakfast nook" where hummingbirds will showoff outside the window, on the back patio shielded from the wind, or the lakeside patio above the beach. You will feel instantly at home as soon as you walk in the house. If you can tear yourself away from the lake, there are miles and miles of hiking and biking trails throughout the area. World-class fly fishing can be found at the nearby au Sable river, where kayaking and canoeing options also abound. For birders, the summer home of the beautiful but nearly extinct Kirtland's warbler is close by. You'll never have time to do it all in one vacation. You will have to keep coming back. Making it all possible are Bob and Lynn Frye. They are a pleasure to interact with. They are eager to make their guests feel welcome and are great ambassadors of the Higgins Lake area. The only thing I have ever been disappointed about was the end of my vacation. It is painful to leave at the end of the week, when I begin counting down to the first day of my next stay.

Owner response:In addition to all the above we will have internet WiFi for this summer!

We had a fantastic time at this home! The living room and dining room were perfect for 6 adults and 2 kids. We had plenty of space and were extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend this place and definitely stay again.

Owner response:Since your stay we have upgraded the Chateau to a higher level of comfort. New carpet in the living room, stairway and upstairs hall, a new slate floor in the front porch and a new barbeque grill.
