Had so much fun!
Had so much fun!
We came up for the weekend to enjoy my brother and sister in laws graduation from Kirkland college. Along with that, we had the best SPRING Michigan weekend. 80 degree's, crystal clear water. The best sleeping with crisp clear nights - the windows open, the sound of the water, the crickets. Oh my gosh, it was spectacular. I honestly could NOT have asked for more. And, I cannot thank you enough.

Great for a Girls Getaway!
This home was perfect for our girls getaway!! We had plenty of room to enjoy crafts, games, great conversation. I think we used every square inch of this house. We had seven people and it was very comfortable. Love the view of the lake and the amenities in the kitchen!!

I have been coming back to this house for five years. It is the perfect vacation rental. It all starts with the lake. There are few lakes as beautiful as Higgins Lake. It is plenty big enough to enjoy any kind of water sport without feeling crowded. The east side location of this home is particularly nice for sailing and windsurfing. The house itself is clean and comfortable. Everything you need for cooking and serving large meals is available. Enjoy your meals from the porch overlooking the lake, the large dining room, the "breakfast nook" where hummingbirds will showoff outside the window, on the back patio shielded from the wind, or the lakeside patio above the beach. You will feel instantly at home as soon as you walk in the house. If you can tear yourself away from the lake, there are miles and miles of hiking and biking trails throughout the area. World-class fly fishing can be found at the nearby au Sable river, where kayaking and canoeing options also abound. For birders, the summer home of the beautiful but nearly extinct Kirtland's warbler is close by. You'll never have time to do it all in one vacation. You will have to keep coming back. Making it all possible are Bob and Lynn Frye. They are a pleasure to interact with. They are eager to make their guests feel welcome and are great ambassadors of the Higgins Lake area. The only thing I have ever been disappointed about was the end of my vacation. It is painful to leave at the end of the week, when I begin counting down to the first day of my next stay.
