Location: Boone, Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA (Boone, Blowing Rock and Wilkesboro within 15-20 minutes!)

Accommodations:  Traditional Cedar Log Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

Enjoy the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Deep Gap, NC. Our cabin is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway just before Hwy 421 passes under the the Blue Ridge (mile marker 277) at an altitude of 3403 near Stoney Fork Overview.

We are perched at the Eastern Continental Divide looking southwest. Enjoy a short ride among majestic trees and mountain views before climbing Turkey Hill. A gentle climb that arrives at a most unassuming paradise at the end of Frog Hollar road. The cabin is nestled on 1.5 acres and gives way to miles of spectacular view. You will be inspired by a feeling of peace and solitude that will not be disturbed by any visible neighboring cabins or homes from any of the four cabin decks.

This is a very warm and inviting traditional cedar log cabin with views from each of the four decks and nearly every window! The main level has the master bedroom, and living room with cozy gas log fireplace, inviting furniture and deck as well overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The third bedroom is in the loft area, and has its own private deck. The lower level has a family room with sofa sleeper and a bedroom with two single pine-pole beds and full bath.

A six-person hot tub provides great relaxation after a strenous hike, skiing day, or just for fun. A fire pit also makes for the mountainy feel of camping under the stars. (Always remember to completely extinguish any campfires)

The cardinals and hummingbirds love hanging out at our cabin, and are entertaining to watch while enjoying morning coffee. Watch the sunset, or an approaching thunderstorm, with an evening cocktail around the comfortable dinette or in one of two oversized rockers. The deer and turkeys like to frolic about, too! There is plenty of hiking right from the back door. Take your camera and a small bag to collect wild blackberries.

While the cabin is very secluded and quiet, it is only minutes to lots of activities should you decide to leave the beauty and serenity of the cabin. Hike the "Mined Mica Trail" or wander to Frogulota Falls; lower trail, strenuous hike from the front door.

This is a unique property for people who value quiet time, great views and bonding with nature. The cabin is about 20 minutes to Boone (via hwy 421) and Blowing Rock (via the BR Parkway), and a stone's throw to the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cabin is complete with every amenity including WildBlue Broadband Internet access that lets you stay in touch and find the latest mountain entertainment. Play Station II is also available should you need a session of "Guitar Hero", or Kareoke American Idol" to complete a great day. A piano keyboard is also available for mountain musicians. Bring your ipod so you can share and enjoy your own music on the digital music system.

    • This cabin has the very best view you will see in the mountains. The cabin is the most beautiful cabin I have ever seen. The owners have thought of everything you will need. My family had a wonderful time and my son got to see deer run thru the backyard. If it rains, you will still have pleny to enjoy. It is 1.9 miles to the top of the mountain where the cabin is located, and a wonderful scenic view all the way up. This cabin is a great choice and we will be back!

    • We had a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful stay at your cabin - thanks so much for sharing it with us!! We really enjoyed the quiet setting and our dogs loved the walks in the woods and down the lane. The cabin was cozy and well stocked with just about everything we needed. Sunset views from the hot tub - and the stars - were amazing!! Even though we missed the peak leaf colors, found plenty to enjoy. We loved the location as we could jump on the parkway to Moses Cone, Julien Price park, and Blowing Rock for great hikes with our dogs! Thanks again and we hope to be back soon!!

    • This cabin is a rare find. My wife and I rented the cabin for our 11 year dating anniversary. Many people go to the mountains to take advantage of the outdoor activities, but we go for the downtime from our busy lives and to reconnect. We purchase all our groceries for the visit and once we arrive we don’t leave the cabin until it is time to go home. We generally try to get away a few times each year and we have rented many cabins over the years. The amenities we seek first and foremost are seclusion and a hot tub. This cabin far exceeded our expectations and is by far and away the best cabin we have found in this area. In fact, we had such a terrific time that we attempted to book the cabin again for mid-November for our 10 year wedding anniversary instead of going to the Caribbean! Unfortunately it was already booked. I agree with the comment that the pictures do not do it justice. The long range views are amazing and the cabin is very well maintained. It is an easy drive from central NC, very secluded, and the owners thought of everything to make our stay perfect. Everything is provided from linens, a fully stocked kitchen, paper products, and much much more. Even the beds are all made waiting for you on arrival and the PS2 is a nice touch. Karen is great and was very gracious to answer my 1,000+ questions before we booked. I wanted to make certain it was a terrific weekend for my bride and it was that and so much more. Since the forecast predicted rain we brought our pop-up shelter and it worked perfectly over the hot tub so we were able to enjoy it all weekend. We also thankfully had a break in the rain one evening and were able to experience the view of the stars from hot tub. It was truly breathtaking. Thank you again for sharing your home with us. You truly have a slice of heaven here on earth!

    • We just back from the cabin and already wish we were back. The cabin is well-stocked with the amenities of home, including a wide-ranging lineup on satellite TV and a hot tub. Best of all is the view from the back of the cabin, which is as good as it gets. You can barely see any signs of humanity from there, making it feel as if you are really getting away from it all. To top it off there are several trails close by for a nice hike. We plan to go back soon.

    • We spent our 2009 June vacation here for a week. It was absolutely wonderful. We have rented several cabins in the mountains, and this one was one of the best. The rental process was easy. The owners are a pleasure to work with. We brought our dog and she absolutely loved the ceiling fans on the deck and the woods nearby. The kids sang their hearts out to American Idol for the PS2, and great fun was had by all. The only thing I can't get out of my head now is the "Frog Hollar, Frog Hollar" chant that was echoed repeatedly in the back seat on the way back home.

    • The cabin is exquisite. It is clean and well stocked ( they thought of everything). If you enjoy solitude, beauty and living in the clouds for a short or extended period of time, this is the place for you. The hummingbirds have distinct personalities. If they run out of sugar water, they will let you know. Blue Ridge Parkway is close by. This cabin was a dream. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

    • The cabin was everything we hoped it would be: private and secluded but easy access to Boone, the Parkway, Grandfather Mt., Blowing Rock; quiet, great view, nicely furnished and appointed, good selection of books in the loft (for those rainy days!). We felt very at home for the 2 weeks we stayed, and will come back.
