Location: Capitol Hill, Seattle, Washington State, USA (725 East Pike Steet (15 blocks from the Pike Place Market))

Accommodations:  Apartment Building, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

If you are coming for a vacation in Seattle, stay at St. John's Apartments! Our #309 is perfect for vacation or business travelers. It has two bedrooms, two baths, a nice living room and a fully functional kitchen.

St John’s was built in 1910. We find that people who love old houses really admire this place. It is a charming old building with hardwood floors and fancy period woodwork. There are twenty five apartments in the building on two floors, above retail businesses along Pike Street. #309 is on the top floor and has a great view down onto the street from both the living room and the master bedroom.

We've made it feel like home. The living room has a seven foot super comfortable couch, two stuffed chairs and a 37-inch LCD TV with DVD player and a small collection of movies. (And Blockbuster is a block away.) The apartment also has wireless high speed internet. It's a great place to visit and relax, or to get work done if you're here on business.

The kitchen works, but it is small. There is a table seating two, a full-size fridge, microwave and gas stove, plus of course small appliances, dishes and all the essentials.

The Master Bedroom has a king size bed, TV, writing desk, and a private bath with shower and toilet. The sink in a seperate nook area.

The second bedroom is in the middle of the unit. Its window looks into a light well, giving natural light but no view to the street below. This keeps it very quiet and it's is a great place to sleep. The bed is queen size, with a firm mattress, new in October '06.

We are in a great location. We are in what is know as the "Pike-Pine Corridor", which denotes the two main streets that run from Seattle’s Pike Place Market through the downtown shopping area and then up to the residential neighborhoods on Capitol Hill. The distance from St. John’s down to the center of Seattle's shopping district is ten blocks, the Pike Street Market is just five more. There are interesting stores, restaurants and businesses all along the way and it’s an easy walk.

Directly across the street from us is a large supermarket, open 24 hours, and a Bartell Drug store. Very convenient! The neighborhood is a colorful and lively, making it great for people watching and a perfect spot for a fun city vacation. At night it becomes even more lively when the bars and restaurants fill up and there is lots to do.

We have a full-time, live-in manager, Johnny Sidorowicz. He takes care of making reservations and checking people in and out. Johnny lives in apartment 200 and if there's every anything you need while you're with us, he's always ready to help.

To make a reservation: 1. Check our calendar, linked below. If the dates you want are free, send an email requesting a quote. Johnny will get back to you within a day. If you want to go ahead with the reservation, we require a $150 deposit on Visa or MasterCard. Johnny takes those numbers over the phone. His number is 360 561 8831.

So if you'd like a quote or have questions about us, please send us a mail or feel free to call if that's easier. We'd love to have you stay with us! Thanks!

    • The Neighborhood is a really fun area. There's lots of activity and it feels safe. There are many young people in the area--two colleges nearby--and many older people that still come out at night. It was recently compared, by one of our renters, to the Village, or Chelsea in NYC. It really is an amazing area. By day there are people on the street, it's busy enough. But at night, especially on weekends, there are many, many people, literally everywhere-- the neighborhood buzzes!

    • We stayed in #309 May 21-25, 2009 and LOVED it. The apartment was great, and since we were accompanied by 3 21-23 year olds, the location was ideal. The street noises were all fun noises and we slept with the windows open. We did test the quietness by closing them and the windows were great at muffling the party sounds. We found everything to be very clean and a nicer quality than you find in a lot of vacation rentals. The grocery store across the street was wonderfully convenient and having parking behind the building was great. Johnny was friendly and helpful. We will be back! Thanks for a great time.

    • Apartment 309 was perfect for us! Three of us attended a conference at the convention center (only about a 10 minute walk), and loved being in a neighborhood instead of a boring hotel. We grilled salmon on the patio, ate in the 'hood (loved Quinns east of the apartment on Pike and Stumptown Coffee on Pine), and caught a movie just around the corner at the Egyptian on Pine. Johnny was so helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay!

    • We were there in mid August 2008 for 3 days as well as in the years past. Steve and I love St. Johns almost as much as we love Seattle! Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel when they can have all the comforts of home at St. Johns. We stayed in Unit 304 last time, this time we stayed in #309, both were very comfortable, right down to the bath towels. I can't say enough of what a comfort it is to have a place like this to go to each time we are in town. Johnny and Mark, the Mangement team treated us as well, if not better than, they would treat their own family:) Can't wait until we return. Excellent location and accomodations. Convenient to all the wonderful spots in Seattle. Hope to see you next year.

    • Spent 8 nights in this apartment in May/08. There were four of us and it was much cheaper and much more spacious for us to stay in this charming, centrally located apartment. The property manager and owner went out of there way to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this apartment to others looking for reasonably priced but nice accommodations in Seattle.

    • We had a ball staying in the St. John's Apts. There was ample room for the 4 of us very comfortably. We could have handled 2 more. Because of the location, we didn't need a car and walked most places. We felt like a part of the community, and of course, that is because of Johnny, the manager. We would stay there again.

    • We loved this apartment~~ We had originally booked a hotel room, but decided that four nights in a hotel room with 4 of us would get a little crowded, so we found this wonderful apartment. The place was well-furnished - very comfortable king bed, bottled waters, a selection of shampoos, and a rocking chair that became a favorite. The location was perfect as we were close to everything we wanted to do in Seattle. For being in the middle of an active neighborhood, we found this apartment very quiet - there was only one noisy period that was short-lived and for us it just added to the uniqueness of the neighborhood. Johnny is great and was always there to answer any questions. I know staying in a place like this that is a "home away from home" added to the enjoyment of our visit. We would highly recommend #309!!

    • We stayed four nigths in this lovely aparment and felt like we were in heaven. The location is excellent, and the apartment is the ideal combination where old world flavor meets warm, modern decor. We could easily walk downtown to explore and always felt like we were coming back "home" when we came through the door. Its the perfect way to enjoy downtown Seattle...surpassed all my expectations. Thanks Mark and Johnny!

    • We absolutely loved apt 309, the building, and the location. The apartment itself is incredibly comfortable and well stocked (plus the sheets on the bed made me never want to leave it). We got a lot of use out of the back patio as well. While the apartment itself was amazing, the location even better. It's an easy walk not only to all the downtown attractions but also to the hub of Capitol Hill. There is some noise at night from the surrounding bars, but the air filter in the room drowns it out PLUS the activity on the hill is part of Capitol Hill's charm. We will absolutely stay at St. John's again.

    • Comments: We were so pleased with this rental (we rented #309 for 5 nights) and our experience in Seattle. Johnny (the manager) and Mark (the building owner) are GREAT! They thought of everything and were more than willing to help and make sure all was well in the apartment. They thought of everything, right down to suggestions for places to eat and a discount card to the grocery store that is closer to the apartment then our mailbox is to our house in TX! The area is very lively and walking to the heart of the city is a breeze. The apartment was so nice we hated to go out, but the food, beer, coffee and shopping is too good in Seattle to miss! We hope to come back in 2008! If you want to get a true feel of city life without a car (we did not use a car at all) and enjoy Seattle, this is the place to stay!
