We've been to Seattle a few times before but never stayed in the Capital Hill area. We did enjoy Seattle this time and visited lots of places and tried lots of new restaurants. However, there was a lot of street noise every night and we were glad we brought our earplugs. Also many homeless/street people in the area; our grandson did not feel safe enough to do his daily run for exercise. We did feel safe in the apartment though and went to the QFC daily. Johnny got us a nice new black coffee maker...Thank You. The middle bedroom had a window but no air from the outside, so it was a little 'stuffy' during our stay; we had very nice warm weather for the week.

What can we say that we haven't said before? Warm, inviting abode, management, owner and accommodations; comfortable beds, clean, convenient, comfy and you can't go wrong by choosing this property. If there's something you need, they'll either provide it or tell you where to get it. An easy one mile walk to Pike Market, don't miss the bacon and maple mini donuts at the "Daily Dozen Donuts there, Tulio Ristorante at 1100 Fifth Ave (breakfast, lunch or dinner), Chihuly's Glass Garden at Seattle Center, Nordstrom's, Von's or a nice walk to Lake Union. There's a little road/area noise, but turn on the a/c and white sound machine and all's well in Seattle. Would move here if the closets were bigger:) Can't wait until our next visit! This place was so awesome! Nice beds and bedrooms. Clean and modern while maintaining its original charm. It is in the middle of EVERYTHING!! Grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc, are just out the door. Downtown is only a 5 minute walk and Pike Place Market is a 8-10 minute walk. Nice neighborhood. Parking is right behind the building. Will do this again. Johnny takes care of everything there.

Yes yes yes! Today is my wife "Daisy's" birthday! We planned this trip for her and had a great time. The post left on the previous page is from Mirna, one of the four who came here to us. I will say that Johnny was so cool to let us check in a bit early. The place was immaculate! He hit all the tourist spots and found out that this location was so close to everything. We will come back again! Thx for all!

Before we left San Francisco on Saturdauy, the weather report for Seattle said"chance of snow". Never did we think that we would have been snowed in. Nevertheless, we had a great time. Our walk in the show was adventurous. WE enjoyed our stay at St. John's Apt. It's comfortable, clean and close to shops and restaurants. We look forward to visiting Seattle again and staying at St. John's again, only next time we'll pick summertime!

I've been to Seattle several times while our daughter has attended Seattle University. Our first stay at St. Johns-just wish we had found out about your place 4 years ago! Great location, comfy and great local entertainment. Will definitely recommend this place. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Our first trip to Seattle and we loved it. Not enough time to see everything worth seeing-so we'll be back. We really enjoyed our stay at St. John's apartments. Our apartment was very comfortable. The location was great, too. It was nice to stay where the residents of the city live. Definitely has our endorsement for future visitors.

Had a wonderful stay. Up from Calif to visit my daughter-who lives in the building. So a great location for me! The weather was usual but ended with a few good sunny days. Seattle is beautiful in the sun. Met Johnny (the manager) and Mark and his wife (owners) all were great-thanks for giving my daughter a little home here in Seattle. I'll be back and recommend this place to all! Great Job!

See the troll under the aurora bridge (Troll Ave & 35th in Freemont) Vivace Cafe on Broadway was an amazing espresso spot! We all want to move up here! Thank you Johnny!

This old man (65) came up from Emeryville, CA with his 8 yr old best buddy Micah (his mom had to cancel out at the last minute). We had a wonderful week. The apt gave us what we wanted-a central location, easy access to everything, a kitchen and comfortable amenities. We are happy campers!

Good: Great location. Parking & grocery. Bad: 2nd bed is only a Double... NOT a Queen. Description should be updated with correct info. Would not have considered it if we had known. More Bad: No fans, no air circulation. Stiffling and we stayed in October! Put some fans in the ceilings, at least.

Owner response: This is our first and only negative review. It's hard to know how to respond! The bed is a Queen, for sure. A queen is 60" x 80" and that is the size of the bed. As for air circulation, there is a window in the bedroom and a window fan in the closet. Not everyone wants it, but it's there if someone does. Knowing that the bed IS a queen and the fan IS in the apartment, I only wish that our guest had said something when her party was at the apartment, so we could have done something then. Our manager, Johnny, who lives in the building, would have put the fan in the window for them. Oh well...please read our other reviews and you'll see, no one else has ever been unhappy at St. John's!

We had a great time! The apartment was wonderful. Comfortable beds, stocked kitchen, 3 TVs, and 2 bathrooms. Everything was clean and the music was nice. The street was noisy at night but I think any place in the city would be. It was a good location so we used the bus a lot. We did have a last minute car so thanks Johnny for accommodating us with a parking pass. Everyone we met was friendly and if we come back to Seattle we will definitely come back here. Thanks for a great experience!

A wonderful place to stay after a fantastic cruise to Alaska. Loads of laughs and memories, and wonderul restaurants down this end. Last year we were in Seattle and stayed closer to Pikes Market. We are from N.Y. and like the change and just wish it was a little warmer. Love "The Pink Door" restaurant down by the market and love this apartment. Enjoy Life!!!

This was our 3rd time staying at St. John’s-we won’t stay anywhere else on our yearly visit. Can’t beat hospitality, convenience, and comfort of this place. Remember to book early if you’re planning a return visit since the book up pretty quickly-we missed out one year due to our delay?. Walked to everything-next year I think we’ll forego the car for Seattle portion of our vacation. Best Restaurant found this trip: Tulio’s, on 5th Ave between Seneca and Marion. We’re foodies! It was great!

We had a fabulous time in Seattle. We were here for the national Veterinary conference. We loved the apartment; great location, very clean, perfect size. Johnny was very accommodating. We would definite stay here again, and would recommend it to anybody. This was our first trip to the Pacific Northwest, and we’re excited to come back and see more in the future. We visited the International Rose Garden in Portland Or. And drove out to see the Columbia River Gorge. Very scenic. Of course we had to do the Space Needle. And Elliott’s Oyster House had some of the best salmon we’ve had. Great City.

We came all the way from Sweden to see Seattle and it certainly didn’t disappoint! My friends and I were so happy to have found this apartment to rent, and that didn’t disappoint either! The place is clean and convenient, everything we needed was right here. It was like coming to stay at a friend’s house. Thoroughly enjoyable! We were pleasantly surprised by the Honey Hole sandwiches place. Very interesting décor and excellent hamburgers! Thanks so much for providing this place for people to rent, it made our whole stay great!

We loved the apartment! Recommendations: the Pike Place Market for breakfast. La Paniera-croissants and piroskys are best! In Post Alley go to Yarmulka for Eastern European Veggie stuffed cabbage. Pike Place Chowder. Restaurants on Broadway: Annapurna (Indian) Byzantium (Greek). Steer clear of Bruno’s on 3rd. Anthony’s on the water-good, Chinnok on Lake Union-great. Check out the Center for Wooden Boats on Lake Union-free boat rides on Sunday Afternoon. Take a ferry ride to Pt. Townsend. Be sure to see Sterret House on Clay St. and Manresa Castle Hotel. Mitsker Maps on 1st Ave. And don’t miss the Olympic Sculpture garden on the waterfront north of Pier 70.

A great place to stay! Walk one block north to Pine and catch bus #10, 11 or 49, goes West to within one block of Pikes Market-catch same bus between 3rd and 4th or Pike to come back-take bus 10 or 11 West to 5th and Pine to catch monorail to go to Space Needle-the Exp Music and Science Fiction Museum. Catch bus 5 just North of Pine on 3rd St. to go to Woodland Zoo.

We stayed in #309 May 21-25, 2009 and LOVED it. The apartment was great, and since we were accompanied by 3 21-23 year olds, the location was ideal. The street noises were all fun noises and we slept with the windows open. We did test the quietness by closing them and the windows were great at muffling the party sounds. We found everything to be very clean and a nicer quality than you find in a lot of vacation rentals. The grocery store across the street was wonderfully convenient and having parking behind the building was great. Johnny was friendly and helpful. We will be back! Thanks for a great time.

A great spot in the middle of an ultra hip area with great funky vibe made for a great trip. Bus lines nearby will run straight downtown which is walking distance anyhow. There’s an awesome park nearby up a couple of blocks from Broadway. Beer drinkers head up Pike several blocks to Elysian Brewing…top notch. Great people watching, nice area to stroll. Mayor Johnny knows all, see/ask him for any tips/info.

Apartment 309 was perfect for us! Three of us attended a conference at the convention center (only about a 10 minute walk), and loved being in a neighborhood instead of a boring hotel. We grilled salmon on the patio, ate in the 'hood (loved Quinns east of the apartment on Pike and Stumptown Coffee on Pine), and caught a movie just around the corner at the Egyptian on Pine. Johnny was so helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay!

We were there in mid August 2008 for 3 days as well as in the years past. Steve and I love St. Johns almost as much as we love Seattle! Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel when they can have all the comforts of home at St. Johns. We stayed in Unit 304 last time, this time we stayed in #309, both were very comfortable, right down to the bath towels. I can't say enough of what a comfort it is to have a place like this to go to each time we are in town. Johnny and Mark, the Mangement team treated us as well, if not better than, they would treat their own family:) Can't wait until we return. Excellent location and accomodations. Convenient to all the wonderful spots in Seattle. Hope to see you next year.

9/12/08 Thanks for a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed the City and its lively activity. Pike’s market was great and so were the restaurants. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Our yearly girls weekend was a great success.

8/21/08 What can we say? We love this place, both Seattle and St. John’s. We first found it on VRBO.com. Feels like we’ve come home when we arrive. Unit 309’s appointments, furnishings, and the friendly management team provide the creature comforts that we long for but seldom find at, or with, any other lodging. We’ve been on the road for a week so far and have finally had a good night’s sleep. This is the 2nd time here-last year when we visited there was no availability and we stayed at another VRBO.com. That was a disappointment ad we’re happy to be back and look forward to our next visit to our 2nd home at St. John’s. Favorite Stops: Nordstrom’s, downtown. Pike Market. St. Mark’s Cathedral (Episcopal Church with a great gift shop). La Rustica, restaurant in West Seattle. All restaurants downstairs.

Wow! What a blast we had at the St. John. We were in town for my sister’s wedding here on Capitol Hill and the apartment was perfect for our two boys. Johnny was so helpful and we enjoyed having out with him at the Rosebud on our first night here! We will come back the next time we’re in town! Thanks so much!

Had a great time people watching around the neighborhood. Great restaurants: Seattle Art Museum-Taste; The Pink Door-Patio; Elliott’s-nice views; Café Champagne, Steelhead. Went to Snoqualmie Falls, Mt. Rainier, Ballard (Chittenden) Locks, Red Hook Brewery, Discovery Park. For Sunday Brunch try Crave on 12th Ave and Pine.

7/02/08 Great place to stay-well furnished and comfortable-close to downtown and convenient for travel in all directions. Wonderful weather-even an bit warm. Seattle has so much to see and do –great restaurants. We loved our day trips to La Conner, B.C. and Bainbridge. The Pike neighborhood was great-wonderful diversity.
