Accommodations:  Big House Surrounded by Woods, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths (Sleeps 10-15)

Welcome to our lake house. We are on almost 3 acres of private wooded land, midway down an extremely large cove. As a result of this ideal combination you can enjoy lake living at its best. Kids can roam free in the surrounding woods or play in the grassy lawn. We've got croquet, volleyball and basketball for the sportsminded. Down at the dock, we love to fish, swim, and picnic.

In the evenings, if you don't boat to the T-60 restaurant, you can grill out back and roast marshmallows for dessert. After dinner we have all kinds of board games, crafts, and books plus the downstairs big screen TV and lots of kid flicks. Night owls can chat on the screened patio while the tree frogs and crickets serenade.

Our kids love this place because it offers freedom from their normal rules and routines. We love it for the same reason, plus the added benefit of knowing they are playing outside just like kids used to do; using their imaginations and observations for entertainment.

We are a nature and animal loving family. If you have a dog, please take advantage of the fenced dog run and the crate we have on hand. If you love nature, you'll find all kinds of birds in the area; plus lovely monarchs that come to visit our butterfly bush and tiny tiny frogs that hop along the paths. The dock has lots of fish, and we usually catch and release several each visit.

Our home is very comfortable. We have bright open spaces for playing and gathering. Great nooks for quiet away time. We also provide you with an array of books for all tastes, games and crafts, cable tv if requested, foozball, sports equipment, and a fully equipped kitchen. We hope there is something special there for everyone.

Our Welcome Binder will help you locate local boat rental, shopping, dining and points of interest. There is berry picking nearby, a fish farm, horseback riding, and much more. Please make yourself at home. Our house is there for your enjoyment.

Take care and hope to see you soon!
Nora

Why the Owner Chose Westminster

We bought our lakehouse in this area because it is off the beaten path; yet convenient to all the amenities we might need. Movies, shopping and dining are 15 minutes away, however the home is on almost 3 acres of woods, on a quiet street with no through traffic. Our cove is deep and peaceful. No boat wakes or traffic bump around our enjoyment of the lake. Our view of the lake is gorgeous as well. Although we are in South Carolina, we can see the Georgia side of Lake Hartwell. Its wonderful to sleep outside in the hammock under the trees, or take a snooze on the swing bed on the porch. Our library is stocked with books, the amoire has games and art supplies, and the kitchen is ready to go. Its a perfect place to hang out and not be involved in the pace our typical home life. We don't use our cell phones up there, nor do we turn on the cable (although you can). Its just a break from the pace of our hectic lives. Try it, you'll see!

The Unique Benefits at this Big House Surrounded by Woods

Unique benefits include extra spacious floor plan; huge screened patio, a sleeping bed outside on the patio for the adventurous (its on a swing!). We also have a lots of toys for the lake; great floats, outdoor fireplace, gas grill, and a great yard for outdoor sports. Dog lovers are welcome, and we have a great fenced area for the dogs who need outside time.

Owner's Map of Westminster

Hi, my name is Nora. As you can see in our picture we get a lot of laughs and good times at the lake house. We live in Atlanta, and come up frequently. When its not in use, we love to rent it out. I enjoy reading the guestbook log in which our visitors record their experiences. We've even had people from Europe. Its great to be a hostess and share this wonderful experience with others. My husband loves to get away from his busy career and kick back here. The kids love it because we can really be together. We love the quiet, the lake water, and being out of the stressful currents of everyday life. Please join us out at the lake!

    • Fabulously relaxing ! Early morning coffee on the lake dock is a must! Feels like a real home, all the conveniences, no rusticating but certainly not near any major hubs. Get close to nature, enjoy beautifully tranquil views, plenty to do for both adults and kids. A real getaway spot.

    • What a great vacation home! The house and the rooms were so spacious. We were two families of four. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat and socialize together. Four of us were in the kitchen helping to prepare dinner at the same time with room to spare. The configuration of rooms upstairs and downstairs, and the family room downstairs, allowed each family privacy. The dock is great. There was room enough for some people to be fishing on one side, and for swimming on the other side. We'll definately be back!

    • What a great place! Not as crowded as Lake Lanier. On a quiet cove. What more could you ask for? Even the family dog can enjoy the dog run. I would recommend to any family for a weekend getaway or a family vacation!

    • We had a great visit at your lake house; So clean, spacious, and private. The Welcome Binder was very helpful, and gave us great places to hike, rent boats, and get bait for night time fishing. Loved the porch swing too! Thanks for a great time! We'll be back!

    • The house is so spacious and so comfortable, I didn't want to leave. Plenty of room for 2 or 3 families. We were there with 4 adults, 7 kids total, and there was plenty of room for everyone, even at dinner. We were surprised at how warm the water was for swimming. I thought we would only enjoy the time on the water. The time on the water was wonderful as well. Quite a change from the overcrowded Lake Lanier I am used to. We hardly saw another boat while we were out. Wonderful home, wonderful lake, a great time. We'll be back!!!! -Candace Deshe

    • Great place with tons of room. Screened patio is huge and perfect to hang out on. Close and easy walk to big dock on a very nice, private cove. Kids loved swimming off the dock and playing with all your toys and games. Thanks for making us feel at home. Chuck & Betsy Hyder
