Great location. The neighborhood is clean and quiet. The house is charming and feels as comfortable as my own. Nice shopping and restaurants within walking distance. 90 minutes to San Fran. 30-45 minutes to Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur but also plenty to do right there in Capitola/Santa Cruz. Loved it!!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We rented Vaquita house thinking we (h&w) would be at the US Open in Pebble Beach and our two teens would be surfing. Ended up our kids didn't go because of other commitments, so we only needed one bedroom. But I'm still glad we ended up here - the house is so inviting, clean and comfortable and practically everything is provided. The location can't be beat although it was a drive down to PB. I just wish our kids could have come because they would have loved it too. I want to come back, in fact, I would like to move in permanently!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Just stayed at the house the middle of Sept. Great, great location--close to downtown Capitola, the beaches, a private beach and shopping/dining--the Wine Festival. Great size for our family of three! It had everything we needed and we would definatley stay there again!

We stayed in this house in Aug 2009. We found the house to be of a very good standard great postion safe and quiet. The only small consideration we would ask is that it provides accommodation for 4 people, therefore it needs to have 4 dining chairs. as i said small note to consider. christine was more than helpful and would stay at this place again.

Owner response:Hi Kathy, Thanks for the feedback. The layout of the house works best with the two chairs at the breakfast table and the two chairs at the adjacent bar area. Also, there is a table and four chairs in the patio area for outside dining. Glad you enjoyed the house. Thanks, Chris

We stay at the Vaquita house 2-3 times per year and love it. It's quiet, clean and great for our small family. The location is perfect for walking to Capitola and the East Side surf spots. We are already planning our next surf trip while you're reading this! Auburn, CA

Our family loves staying at the Vaquita house ! It is our favorite vacation spot! The house is relaxing and welcoming. We love the private beach access and easy walk down to Capitola.We plan to stay there as often as we can!

The perfect NorCal beach house!

I am originally from NorCal and spent many summers in Santa Cruz. If only we had a house like this back then! It is perfect. The house has EVERYTHING you could possibly want or need. It is spotlessly clean, bright, sunny, comfortable and cozy. The beach is a short walk away and is perfect for learning to surf, paddle board or just hang out. You can walk to just about anything you would need. Chris was wonderful to work with and made our stay perfect. The yummy treats and wine were a nice added touch. It is our intent to come back at least 1- 2x per year since it is the perfect get away and was a hit with all 4 of us. I would recommend this property to all of my friends and family who are looking for a quiet house close to everything yet away from it all. It is also the perfect house for those who enjoy walking/running along the ocean cliffs, checking out the surf scene or mountain biking. This property far exceeded my expectations and continues to be a topic amongst our family and friends.

Convenient, comfortable, spotless and quiet

My husband and I stayed here for a month. We were visiting our daughter who lives nearby. The bedrooms face the back of the house and are very quiet. The house is sunny and cheerful. Kitchen great to cook in. Chris was very accomodating. The home is across the street from the ocean, a very short walk to Capitola village.
