Open airy villa, professionally decorated, scattered with art and antiques. Special attention paid to the comfort of the beds and linens. The house has been furnished to accommodate six persons. One second floor bedroom with king size bed and in suite bathroom with tub/shower. Two bedrooms with queen-size beds and one with twin beds on the ground floor along with a large bath with rustic marble tile shower. Half bath/WC on main floor. Ceiling fans throughout, heated tile floors.
The pool and outdoor dining terrace are surrounded by a lush mediterranean garden. Entire property is fenced and gated. Located two kilometres outside the village of Salernes, the Provencal center for the ceramic and hand-made tile industry. A real working village, not just a back-drop for tourists, Salernes is nestled in a valley surrounded by vineyards, just below the ruins of a medieval castle. There are several notable wineries in the immediate vicinity as well as award winning restaurants in the area.
The village has a lively traditional Sunday market, many excellent shops, bars, and restaurants as well as a variety of festivals held in and around the main square. Within an hours drive you can visit Roman ruins, the historic Abbey de Thoronet, and the Gorges de Verdon, the Grand Canyon of France. Drive through fields of lavendar and sunflowers or enjoy a day of boating on pristine Lac St. Croix.
Day trips could include Riveria destinations such as Monaco, Cannes, and St. Tropez, or cultural centers such as Aix en Provence. A train station served by high speed trains is located 30 minutes away in Les Arcs. The English-speaking caretaker lives nearby.
