From golfing, to the beaches, to a coastal dining scene that stretches from Sarasota to Naples - we've found the escape we simply call paradise.
The Unique Benefits of this House
RESTAURANTS AND THINGS TO DO
Here are a few things we have discovered and recommend, certainly far from exhaustive, but a place to start if you are new to the area: Junk-a-noo On the Beach – Fort Meyers Beach. Park free in their lot and enjoy lunch on the deck and spend the day on the beach. The music is rock-n-roll, the crowd is a mix of tourists, families, boomer bikers, and general beach types. Beach chaises, umbrellas, wave-runners, etc… are available for rent (if you spot dolphins – take a wave-runner out to visit them). Pincher’s Crab Shack – Near home on the north side of the C. river, just off Hwy 41 at the Best Western hotel towers. An authentic crab shack also accessible by boat right on the Calousahatchee River. Fun and messy outdoor dining...try the Crab Pinchers sautéed in butter and garlic. Golf – There are numerous courses within a short drive of the house, but call ahead for tee-times in high season. For a great teaching course (or quick tune-up) the El Rio par 60 eighteen hole course is just across Skyline Drive from the house. Par 3’s and short par 4’s with few carry’s required and forward sloping greens make this a beginners paradise.
Sanibel Island (Stop at the tourist info booth when you come across the bridge. They are very friendly and can guide you to these and other attractions). Beaches – World renowned for the variety of seashells to be found. Nice for sunsets. Stars and Stripes Dolphin Tour – Okay so a tour boat isn’t your thing. Do it anyway. Capt. Jack is the original old man and the sea type (except nicer) with a clean boat that seats up to about fourteen. Tickets are under fifteen bucks and you know you have gotten your money’s worth when Capt. Jack somehow attracts a school of dolphins to start playing in the steep wake of the boat.
