Il Castelletto is a 170 square metre villa located in the Tuscan hillside above a man-made lake. It stands on a property of approximately 6 hectares offering superb views over the countryside. There are some small restaurants within a five minute drive of the villa offering some of the best food in the area.
The villa offers spacious, comfortable and tastefully appointed rooms. Entrance is into the kitchen, lounge and dining area. The lounge has a wood burning stove, comfortable seating and an entertainment centre. From the lounge French Doors lead to a terrace where fantastic views of the lake and countryside can be enjoyed. The modern well appointed kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, oven, hood and fridge/freezer.
The 5 x 10m pool and stone deck are privately situated, and are ideally positioned to enjoy the sun and views. Sun loungers and outdoor furniture are provided.
The villa has 3 bedrooms each with double beds, and wardrobes. A roll-away cot is also available.
There is a main bathroom with tub and shower as well as a master ensuite, located off of the lower bedroom.
Things to Do
Visit Sansepolcro with its shopping, museums and restaurants. Spend an afternoon in Anghiari, voted the most beautiful hillside town in Italy.
Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of the world's most renowned artist. View his home and the church where he was baptized (both open to the public).
Monterchi, is the Tuscan town famous for Piero della Francescas Madonna del Parto, and an important stop on the Piero della Francesco trail.
Just 25 minutes away is Arezzo, the county seat, where "Life is Beautiful" was filmed and home of the largest antique market in the country (the first weekend of every month.)
The villa is centrally positioned for those who want to venture further a field. Florence, Pisa, Rimini, Sienna and Assisi are all potential day trips away. Even Rome is only 2 hour drive.
Getting There
When considering which airport to arrive/depart from there are many options: Forli is the closest airport being only an hour drive from Il Castelletto. The airports at Rome, Florence and Pisa offer an opportunity to combine a stay in the city with a stay in the villa.
