My wife and I stayed at The Blue Belle a few days ago for our anniversary. We don't normally stay in vacation rentals, but this was such a wonderful experience. The house is in a perfect location. We walked to the squares, River Street, and restaurants. It was so nice to come home to a comfortable home instead of a hotel room. The kitchen was a real plus, so that we could make meals or coffee whenever we wanted. I have to say that the house was spotless, had comfortable beds, and was quiet. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away to a beautiful place.

My husband and I picked the Blue Belle based on the wonderful reviews. We live in Atlanta and have always had great luck finding accommodations in Savannah. When we arrived the home was very dark and smelled of old smoke. Upstairs was better, the rooms were brighter and more cheerful. The bathroom upstairs however, had carpeting that smelled of urine. I was not sure how long it had been since the greenry or curtains had been cleaned but there was so much dust, no deep cleaning in a long time! Not to mention, the outside area was bleak, most of the beds were only dirt. We contacted the owners immediately and they offered to have someone come to clean the house the next day but we were so disappointed and knew it would take more than one day to have the home ready. They would not refund even a portion of the money we paid in advance. We contacted VRBO and they got us other accommodations. We had to pay for another place and for the Blue Belle even though we did not stay there.
Owner response:We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We are sensitive to guests’ specific needs, and, as such, make certain that no smoking or pets are allowed in our home in case of allergies. Nonetheless, we gladly offered to have our cleaning company come out a second time to ensure your complete satisfaction. Because we have not had a previous complaint, we took yours very seriously. After reviewing the situation, and finding the home clean and inviting, we contacted VRBO, who assured us that they “do not help guests find accommodations.” Historic vacation rentals such as ours are a perfect solution for travelers who want to live amidst the charm that a home built in 1875 offers. We hope you found accommodations that were more suited to you and enjoyed the enchantment of Savannah.

We stayed at the Blue Belle when dropping our daughter off at SCAD. We appreciated the fact that it had a garage! The home is very comfortable and our daughter is sure she encountered "Magnolia." Dad had never been to Savannah, so we did lots of walking. Went out to Tybee Island two different days and enjoyed being able to cook locally caught shrimp one night for dinner. Daughter and I drove down and hubby joined us a few days later. His first words were "this place is clean." And it is. It was great to be in the historic area, close to shopping and a Target for those few last minute dorm items. If you get a chance, dinner at Sol was great, too! We missed the Firefly, but plan to go next time we are in Savannah! The only thing I wished the Blue Belle had was internet connection and a TV upstairs. Overall a great stay. We love Jones Street and the Blue Belle!

Took a weekend and went to Savannah with famly- we all loved this house from the second we walked in the door! Had all the comforts of home and loved the fact that there was a full kitchen - only downfall was that the coffee pot was so small! Already having all the linens and towels there was so nice! Water pressure was GREAT - really missed it when we had to come back home! No sign of "Magnolia" while we were there, much to the dismay of the kids. Definitely keeping your information for future visits to Savannah!

Another great stay in Savannah! We were so happy and pleased when we entered The Blue Belle on a perfect evening in Savannah! Our family rented the house for our third son's twenty-third birthday. We were pleased with the huge kitchen and half-bath! Unfortunately, we did NOT get the large bedroom that overlooks the patio area. We gave that disgruntledly to our adult kids. :( The house is a good walk from the hub of the city-but the walk is worth it! My husband and I drank our coffee each day on the patio while waiting for our kids to get moving in the morning-enjoying every minute of it. Needless to say, we were all very sad to leave The Blue Belle on our day of departure. The owners are wonderful people! Thank you so much!
Owner response:Thank you for staying at The Blue Belle! We chose our location on Jones because of the peaceful and quiet atmosphere and yet only a 10 minute walk to Downtown Savannah. We would love to hear from you again sometime.

We had our first annual girls weekend in Savannah. We enjoyed resting on the small back patio and drinking some wine. The house is very clean and in a great location. We ran every morning in the historic district and walked to downtown easily at night. The house has the old city feel.
Owner response:We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you back for the 2nd annual girls weekend!

We absolutely adored the Blue Belle. The location was perfect. If you would rather find a small hotel room closer to the river... be my guest, (you can have the cramped rooms and loud crowds). As for me... well I prefer to be close enough for a short walk to the "action", but just far enough removed to actually enjoy the city... (it's a short but beautiful 8 to 10 minute walk to River Street). The Belle's locale is just right. Live like a local while you're there, have ample of room to relax, and a garage to boot. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the Master bedroom has a huge window overlooking the courtyard. Simply Put... you'll not be dissapointed.

We really enjoyed our stay last July at the Blue Belle. We've stayed in Savannah before in a hotel and it was much more enjoyable to stay 'in the city' in an old Savannah house. We'll be back!

Our weekend at the Blue Belle was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I joined another couple for a weekend getaway. We were happy to see both rooms had plenty of room. The house was clean and comfy. Well within walking distance of several restaurants. And if you want an excuse to walk a little more (which we did) River Street is not far at all. I absolutely love Savannah and the Blue Belle will always be my first option!!

This is a great place! If your only hesitation to stay here is wondering if the beds are comfortable and if the water pressure is good-- Rest assured these siginificant, but small details are outstanding. A comfortable mattress is in both rooms (a must for those 40 yrs and above!)and amazing water pressure. All else is even better than in the pictures. If it is within your means to stay here I highly recommend it! There are almost too many benefits to list. Having a garage to park your car in was a great benefit. Remember, hotels charge appx 15 per night for parking. For those out of state visitors, don't forget to get bring your bottle of wine to enjoy in the courtyard. No alcohol sales in GA on Sunday. Also bring bug spray to evade any mosquitos that might try to spoil your relaxing time in their beautiful courtyard. The owners are great to work with and informative. If you get a chance try the Moon River Restaurant (Pub, but wonderful food and great prices--crab cake sandwich yum!) Read the guest book for previous guests resturant recommendations or just ask the owners after you book. Live like a local and really see this pretty city from an inviting historic townhome. Location is really convenient and quiet. Enjoy!

We absolutely loved the Blue Belle and would use it again in a minute. Anything you would need is there. It is in walking distance to almost everywhere(and with all the yummy food in Savannah, you'll need the extra walking). The owners are incredibly nice and very quick with responses to questions. The place suited our needs perfectly for 4 adults. It is a great place to stay in Savannah.

We had the most wonderful time staying at the Blue Belle! My girlfriends and I were there to celebrate my birthday and receiving my Doctorate in Education. We had a spacious well equipped kitchen, tons of linens, large bedrooms and plenty of closet space. The courtyard was lovely and the only thing we wished for was a BBQ grill. Had we stayed another day I would have purchased one and left it there for the next time I came to visit and for the enjoyment of others. This Blue Belle home is also within walking distance to River and Bay streets, parks, and the historic district. It was a lovely place to stay and we plan on returning as soon as time permits.

We had a fantastic time at The Blue Belle! It was so great to be able to walk to any place we wanted to go - be it the trolley & ghost tour, or the grocery store! What a lovely, private home. We are definitely coming back to The Blue Belle in the Spring!
