This historic cottage is a great getaway from anyone's busy life. It is completely full of any essential one needs to spend a restful weekend or a busy outdoor adventure week. There are great areas to hike nearby, including nearby Russ Park, the Redwood forest, or the ocean is just a short drive away! There are delicious restaurants within walking distance (I highly recommend the Ivanhoe for Italian- steak- or fish). The cottage is full of historical photos of the Ferndale area, beautiful antiques and comfortable furnishings. Sleeping in the romantic master bedroom after a bubble bath in the claw foot tub makes for a lovely ending to a romantic evening. And the local folks in Ferndale are friendly and the town and neighborhood are very safe, making walks about town (night or day) a good way to fit in some sightseeing of the Victorian houses in town. I highly recommend this property.

I was in Ferndale on business for the week and stayed in this wonderful home. Everything you could possibly need was there. Fully stocked kitchen, backyard with gas bbq, beautifully furnished, and in the middle of town. You could literally park your car for a weekend and not drive. Grocery store is a block away, theater 1/2 block, excellent salon/spa 1/2 blk, restaurants, bars, boutiques. Cindy is so quick to respond if there are any problems or questions. When travelling to Ferndale I will definitely stay here again!

Delightful Cottage in a Charming Town

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. The owners have loving restored this historic home and furnished it with wonderful antiques and family memorabilia. Loved the claw foot bath tub. The kitchen is very modern, up to date, and well-stocked with cooking essentials. There is a small courtyard behind the house for enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. The cottage is conveniently located in a quiet location, so we could walk to shops and restaurants and the market. Ferndale is a charming and historic Victorian town and an ideal location for exploring the Avenue of the Giants and the Lost Coast. We had dinner twice at the restaurant at the Hotel Ivanhoe, and both times the food was outstanding.
