This has one of the best views of Lake Arenal. The house sits on a side of a mountain that runs into the lake, approximately half way up. Monkeys, toucans, parrots, and so many birds are always around. The house is less then 2 years old, American style. Each room has a great view of the Lake Arenal, and the mountains. There is a master bedroom suite at each end of the house with 10 foot ceilings, and the main house has 16 foot ceiling at the peek. The doors and ceiling are made of native hard wood and hand made. Both bathrooms are large, have walk in showers, and separate tubs.
The location is near the town of Rio Piedras,between Nuevo Arenal and Tilran, about 26 miles to Tobacon Hot Springs, The Hanging Bridges, the new Canopy Tram, and the Arenal Volcano, boat trips to Monteverde and more. This is important when comparing rentals, as some are on the southside of the lake,and Tronadora, which doubles the distance to these must-see locations. Its central location also makes the beaches of the Pacific Ocean a two hour drive, but the climate is cool and lush. The house is 1 mile from the world renowned Tico winds windsurfing and kite sailing site. You can see wind and kite sailers from the front porch.
The lake is very clean and you can swim, fish, or boat there, and there is a nice short excursion, to Lake Coter (about five miles away). There is a nice canopy tour here, and the famous bottomless lake.

For us, this house was the best value for money we got in Costa Rica. It's a great set-up, the two bedrooms with their own bathrooms were a huge plus, especially when there are a couple of women in the group :-). The house was set up really well with tons of dishes, a coffeemaker, washer and dryer, microwave, etc. A couple of nights we just cooked at home and the grocery store is close by. The road leading up is a little rough but that seems typical for Costa Rica. But the house itself is gorgeous and the view from every room of the lake is just spectacular. John is a great host and gave us tons of information about local restaurants, etc. He even gave us a local cell phone in case we needed to make a call for any reason. We highly recommend this property. One recommendation (a very girlie one): It would be great if there had been a hairdryer (or two, one in each bathroom) in the house. Other than that it was perfect.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have stayed at this house four times since 2009. We love the house.It is all that is adveristed--- new, very comfortable and a great location. It is close to two towns with everything you might need. Arenal which is convinent with grocery stores, bakery and good reaturants and Tilaran with the same. The view of the lake is spectular from the porch in the morning with your coffe or the evening with your cocktail. Close to the lake, Arenal Volcono and many other amenities. Horse back riding, zip lining, hiking and lake activities. Swimming, windsurfing & picnicing. We have recommend this house to friends and relatives, It is truly Pura Vida.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
