This spacious, 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is located in The Bluffs, the most exclusive area in Mammoth. There are no neighbors on either side or in back of the house. There are terrific views of The Sherwins, Mammoth Rock, Dave's Run and Dragon's Back.
In the Great Room, the massive rock fireplace with its beautiful mantle, is wood-burning and dominated by a magnificent elk mount. The elegant leather chairs and full length window seat complete the rustic atmosphere of this inviting space. The floor-to-ceiling library has more than one thousand volumes.
The dining room seats eight people comfortably with an adjacent area for overflow tables and chairs. The rock fireplace is gas-burning and has a beautiful deer mount over the mantle. The bonus area is next to the dining room and has a baby grand piano and antique maps. Enjoy the beauty of the hickory and pecan wood floors throughout the dining, kitchen and living room areas.
An office alcove nearby has a copier/fax machine. High speed wireless internet runs throughout the house. Just bring your lap top and you're ready to go. Long distance telephone service is included (continental U.S. only).
Prepare your meals on smooth granite counter tops in our Gourmet Kitchen which is fully equipped with a Wolf 6-burner range plus griddle and double convection ovens. Appliances include a ColdTech Restaurant Refrigerator, Bosch Dishwasher, Scotsman Commercial Icemaker, Sharp Convection Microwave, trash compactor, double sinks and an island which is perfect for entertaining. A large walk-in pantry has a supply of coffee, tea, sweetener, hot chocolate, spices and other essentials.
Off the kitchen, on the covered deck, is a 5-burner gas BBQ with adirondack chairs for summer seating. The private side, which is hidden from view and accessed from the deck, has a new, six person Hot Springs spa to soothe your aching muscles after a hard day of skiing or hiking. A large Brown-Jordan table and chairs is lovely for outdoor summer meals.
Enjoy a wonderful night's sleep on the California King Bed in the Master Suite which also has a TV and DVD player and built-in reading lights. Stretch out and relax on the comfortable L- shaped sofa which is next to the rustic rock fireplace. The master suite has a large walk-in closet. The gorgeous, ensuite bathroom has a double sink vanity, lighted make-up mirror, a large Jacuzzi tub with jets and a separate double shower. The towel bar is heated for warm, toasty towels. There is no need to worry about cold tile floors in the winter: the bathroom floors are warmed by in-floor hydronic heating which runs throughout the house. There are no dust-collecting vents or ducts in this beautiful Chalet.
The upstairs guest room has log walls and a soothing decor with a queen bed with a small TV. The adjacent bathroom has slate countertops, oversized walk-in shower and lighted make-up mirror.
The "Twin" guest room, located downstairs, has two twin beds that are perfect for two children or two single adults.
The "Bunk" guest room, also located downstairs, has two sets of twin bunk beds and sleeps four people.
In addition, the downstairs of this fabulous home has a full bathroom with shower, tub, and heated floors as well. There is a kitchenette with a freezer, mini-refrigerator, microwave and large sink. It's great as an away-place for kids to make popcorn or hot chocolate without having to go upstairs to the main kitchen.
The spacious laundry room has aMaytag Neptune washer and dryer, ironing board and iron.
This spectacular Mountain Chalet in Mammoth also has a huge combination game room and work out room. The built-in big screen cable TV with DVD player, full size pool table, foosball table, chess and game table combine to offer great entertainment. If you feel like working out, this room has a treadmill, recumbent bike, home gym and dumb bell weights.
The mechanical room, which contains the hydronic heating system, can also be used as a jacket, glove and ski-boot drying area. There is also a space with racks to hang skis and a ski-tuning bench in our large, 3-car garage (you can fit three Hummers in there).
The Mammoth Lakes European Chalet is K-9 friendly. There is a fenced yard in the back of the house.
Walk outside the front door and you can snow shoe, cross-country ski and hike. You have immediate access to the Lakes Basin, the John Muir and the Ansel Adams Wilderness areas. It's a short drive to the ski area, snowmobiling, golf courses, fishing, horseback riding, restaurants, shops and The Village. Devil's Postpile and Rainbow Falls are close by. The entrance to Yosemite is only a 30 minute drive.
