My wife and I have been vacationing in Englewood for years now. Always staying at hotels. This spot was the perfect get-away! In a quite neighborhood, on a canal, your own private swimming pool, convenient to beaches. . . . The house was clean and well maintained and we felt very comfortable staying there. You're on vacation, with all the comforts of home! I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Great Vacation Rental

This rental home was perfect and we definitely recommend it. We have been vacationing in the Englewood area for the last six years and this rental is conveniently located to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. We were able to bring our boat and tie it up at the dock. It was only a 15 minutes boatride to Stump Pass and the fishing was great. The lanai/pool area was a great place to have coffee in the morning or just relax.

dear alec and cheri , thanks for renting us your house. we had a great stay at manor rd. we arrived on 4/17/08 and stayed 4 nights. the house felt like home and had everything we needed. the pool was nice and warm and the lanai was a great place to have tea in the morning. the weather was amazing,sunny and warm every day. we wish we could have stayed longer so we could have time to use the bikes , canoe, and grill.we would be happy to stay here again when we return to sunny florida. thanks again, jen and rick anderson

We just returned from a wonderful month at Manor house. The accomodations were as wonderful as the weather! Loved the lanai/pool area for morning coffee and watching the birds. Hope to return next year.

We just got home from a wonderful vacation in FL. Thanks Alec and Cheri for letting us rent your home. It was a wonderful experience. The house was wonderful. We had a blast. The kids loved the pool and fishing the canal. We visited the local beach everyday. Collected lots of shells and shark teeth. We hope to visit FL again in the next few yrs. We would love to retire in Fl. thanks again.

Just got back from spending the month of November at your house and enjoyed every minute. November is a great month to be in Florida - great off season rates and weather, in the 80's almost every day. Englewood has lots to offer - beaches, fishing, good food and shopping. We really enjoyed the pool and we had lots of different birds visiting us every day. Loved the grapefruits and oranges - they were ripe for picking while we were there. Fresh orange juice every morning! Thanks again for a relaxing holiday. Linda

We stayed on Manor from January 1st to March 31st, 2006. The house provides a great get away from the cold north. The pool is heated (solar) and worked out great for us. The home is confortable and nicely furnished. The area has at least five beaches within minutes from the house. There is a dog beach in Venice. (25 minutes away) and a dog park on Jacaranda.(15 minutes away. There are so many restaurants close to the house we did not get to visit all of them. Farlows on the Water was especially good. Alec is a pleasure to deal with and his helpers, John and Maggie are wonderful. (Pool & Maintenance) This house is the altimate place to base your vacation.

This house was so nice to stay at. It is very convenient to the beach and local market's Alec & Cheri are a delight to do business and pleasure with.We liked this area so much we purchased a piece of paradise not even a mile away and are making it our permanent home as of Dec.2004.The house is very clean and well equiped with everything you will need to enjoy paradise,we LOVED the pool every day after returning from the beach.Rest assure you will thank yourselves over and over again for choosing this as your vacation spot. My wife and I spent 6 weeks at 991 Manor Rd waiting for our own house to be finished some 15 miles away. Not only were we pleasantly surprised by the well kept house which we called our home for that time but we also thoroughly enjoyed meeting Alec and Cheri McNish who made our transition from Colorado to Florida a most satisfying and positive experience. The fact that they allowed us to stay at Manor Rd with our two little Dachshunds, Heidi and Schatzi is testimony of their great kindness. We were unable to find a place that would allow pets, and our time to leave Colorado was approaching fast. I came across Alec's home at the last moment and we were able to book instantly. We enjoyed the walks we were able to take in the neighborhood with our two "girls". The closeness of the Englewood beaches as well as shopping malls and great restaurants is a definite plus. The home has a caged pool, which is an absolute dream and the quiet neighborhood lets you forget the world outside. We are certainly happy that we found great landlords, but will cherish the fact that we have found friends for life. Bert and Monika

Comment Text: My husband captured it right when he says "the magic never ends". This was our fifth visit to your house this year. Actually we (husband, two daughters and myself) hadn't been for two years. This year was the request of our 14 year old for her 8th grade graduation present). Every trip is awesome. It was fun to see that even though older, our daughters instantly played with some of the games you have, jumped in the pool and used the bikes to ride around. I rode to the beach almost every day myself. We try new adventures each year - this year we used the canoe on the canal for a new perspective, that was fun!! We also visited the state park, Myakka and Thomas Edison's home in Fort Meyers (well, we let the girls shop at the mall there first). However, our favorite is going to the beach - esp to watch the sunsets and play in the water. The house feels like our Florida home because it's so comfortable, relaxing, fun and convenient. What can I say, we love. It's so easy to vacation without the work of a vacation there. The way it should be - like magic!!!

Alec - Just got back from your house and had a great trip. It was everything your web site advertised and more. We really enjoyed being there. The weather was sunny every day between 81-90 degrees. You seem to have thought of everything that would be needed for a hassle free vacation. I may never stay in a hotel again. We were at the beach every day and my husband loved the variety of fishing in Englewood. Englewood is a lovely place - easy to get around and your house is central to everything - beaches, shopping and fishing. I loved sitting by the pool to do my laundry instead of being in a laundromat for two or three hours. We really enjoyed the pool and the quiet of the neighbourhood. Your brochures and info book were really helpful. My husband loves seafood and it helped narrow down the places that specialized in oysters. I have already told everyone I know about your house and recommend to them that this is the best way to vacation in Florida. We will certainly be back again. Regards, Linda and Gra Cowley

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Englewood. The house was great - all the comforts of home! We absolutely loved the pool. We were able to enjoy a day at Englewood Beach and spend a day shopping in Port Charlotte. We couldn't leave without making a stop at Basketville! I would highly recommend this rental for a Florida vacation.

This rent was magnificently equiped and made livable, The instrucions and info were very complete and made feel at home.The location was idea for shopping, clos to the beaches, and in general very convient to every in the town. An ideal rental for first time Englewood renters.

Once again we had a wonderful time. This is our third year at the McNish's home, and surely not our last. We feel like we are in our own home. We will be going again next year, and eventually moving to Englewood. Every year our stay gets better and better, one can only imagine how next year will be.

All the comforts of home with the warmth, sunshine, and beautiful beaches of Florida! Our family enjoyed our Spring 2003 vacation so much we are returning for the Summer. Alec and Cheri did a WONDERFUL job decorating their home to make visitors feel both welcome and comfortable. The pool and screened-in deck were great (it was hard to get our children out so we could go to the beach). We highly recommend this vacation rental.

The place was wonderful, The pictures did not do it justice. It was so clean, comfortable and relaxing. We truly felt at home. The beaches were close and beautiful. The stores were close. Everything was very convenient but far enough away to be relaxing on the quiet dead end street. The pool temp. was always perfect. I couldn't have enjoyed it more. would rent it again in a heart beat. The oweners were wonderful and friendly and were easy contact with good communication. The Information book for places to eat and see was a great touch and vey appreciated.

Everything was wonderful. The house was in excellent condition and very well stocked. We loved the rides in the canoe through the canal, longing by the pool, bike rides and the proximity to the beach.

4/07/03 Alex, had a great time and you have done a great upgrade job. It was more than we had hoped for and very quite and private. Great for the dogs with the dead end street. As stated the beach was only minutes away and what a beautiful beach it is. We have purchased a lot in Englewood and will start a house their shortly. Great town, just far enough off the the busy routes. Many golf courses which we enjoyed. Donna and I would certainly recommend your lovely house for an extended stay, we just came home too early. We wish you and Cheri the best.

The house is great and the pool too. Englewood is a nice little place not too near the highway and not too far. The town has no skyscraper-hotels like others and the beach is really pretty. We enjoyed our stay very much and we must say that everything with the rental process went perfectly well. Even our cancellation last year due to the terror attacks on the states was no problem and we were fully refunded. All transactions were fast and very fair. We really recommend this rental!

Thanks for everything! The pool was great, the house was great. We couldn't have asked for better waether if we directly ordered it.We enjoyed the beach, race track and mineature golf. The ultimate was fishing off the pier, watching the dolphns play and the sunset.The day before we left the orange blossoms started to come out on the trees. I remember the smell when I was a kid and never forgot it.Soon we will be heading North to the rain. Hopefully the snow will be gone.

Despite all our mishaps, we really did have a great time. The pool was great, the weather was worderful and the beaches were hot. There is nothing like watching the fireworks over the Gulf, especially since 9/11.We look forward to coming again, probably about the same time. Take care.

We enjoyed staying at your home,and all the facitilies were just great. The weather was very good 70 - 100! Eating out is terrific. We visited a few places and found one to be as good as another (Not used to the size of the meals!) The area is very relaxing and the beaches and fishing are great.Our son and grand children vistied us and enjoyed the pool and had a great time.We were recommended to this area by people we met at Long Boat Key last year, and it lived up to expectations.

The house was wonderful, and the pool perfect. It was 90 degrees and sunny all week.We will bring the kids nex time for sure. We really missed them during the days. Not in the morning or at night as there was so much to do. Restaurants in the area are awesome. Darryl loved the Captain's Club Tiki Bar.

We had a marvelous time. You have done your homework, thanks for all the tips.Your pool was a great place to party. We have left you a boom-box so you can enjoy pool tunes at nite like we did. It even has a remote so you do not have to get out of the pool to change the CD!

Our stay in Englewood has definately confirmed what we beleived to be true - that it's one of the nicest places to live in Florida! We are lucky to have many friends living here, so we were able to enjoy boating on Lemon Bay,(and watching the dolphins)golfing, special activities at the VFW and the Elks and many fine restaurants from Venice to Punta Gorda.

Just a quick endorsement for the house at Englewood. My wife and I stayed there for two weeks at the beginning of December and had a great time. The accommodation was clean and tidy and everything needed was provided. The pool was ideal and there is good access to the canal at the back although we didn't find time to use the canoe, which Alec the owner was happy for us to try out. The house is also easy for shops and only a mile and a half from some great beaches. Reccommended!

This was our 4th visit to Englewood and it certainly won't be our last. We love the quiet laid-back lifestyle, the friendliness of all the people we have met, the beaches, restaurants etc.We played golf threee times. We really enjoyed our stay at your house. There was not enough hours in the day and our vacation went so fast.Absolutely loved having a private pool. The weather was great (hot/sunny) and we look like a couple of french fries!We enjoyed playimng Trivial Pursuit, and Jenga. Tried to catch crabs but no luck.I am glad we decided to get a private home. We are so tired of staying in hotels. This is a treat. I'll tell my friends and possibly they will be intersted in renting a home like yours.

Ending our almost 4 months stay at Manor, we will miss our home away from home. But Alec and Cheri, you have made your home so inviting and provided so much information on the Englewood area, we have decided to make a more permanent commitment. We bought a pool home in the Englewood area.We will miss the canal very much. The water birds are such a treat. This year there were three manatees in the canal right in our back yard. The Great Horned Owl was back in the pine tree across the canal.We are anxious to see all the improvements in progress at Englweood Beach when we come back.Thanks again for the great home you have shared with us.

Wow! What a great time we had. The house was perfect, the pool was perfect and the weather was great.We hit lots of beaches, Englewood, Venice, Siesta Key, Turtle Cay. Went to a crocodile ranch, Went to Busch Gardens, what a blast. Found 50 Conchs at Siesta Key, dozens of sharks teeth & Olives at Englewood, and lots of Tritons at Venice.The house fits us just right. Everything was so nice. We like the area so much that we went house shopong...stay tuned.

We've had the best time here. The pool has been delightful. The house has been great, so many nice amenities to make our stay here perfect.We love the Englewood area. There's lots to do or little to do, whatever suites you. Enjoyed canoeing in the canal here at the house. The beaches are wonderful. Gasperilla Island is a great spot to visit too. Saw iguanas and manatees and the light-house. Sarasota is close enough to take in the sights there too. We did not have enough time to see everything so will have to come back next winter.Thanks Cheri and Alec for your great hospitality. It's been great.Paul & Deb Swanton

All we can say is that we got all that was promised. It has been great. Like our predecessors, we too will likely settle in the area, but not until 2001.Although it was a business transaction, we feel that the entire experience was very personal and we appreciate all the little extras that gave it that touch. As our e-mail will say we are interested in Feb 2001 rental, until we find the place that we are looking for. Every day was another day in Paradise!! Love your house, and so well equipped. The Florida room overlooking the pool, drenched in sunlight was perfect for that first cup of coffee in the morning. We could not have had better accommodation.Had fun collecting shark's teeth on your fabulous beaches, and my golf game actually improved on the wonderful courses. The Palm and Cape Haze Links in Rotunda were two of our favorites. We love the area, and will most likely be building a house this year.Thanks again, it was a marvelous vacation.Jay & Betty Carruthers
