This lovely condo was perfect! We truly enjoyed all the amenities offered; it was beautifully decorated yet so comfortable. Our time relaxing on the lanai was the best. Very good location--close to shopping and dining. We would certainly return for vacation again and we have recommended this property to friends. We had no problems with this condo. It was well furnished and very comfortable. It was on the 4th floor which we liked for the exercise and the cool breeze. It had a stand alone shower which was great. I would suggest having a car. My recommendation is for anyone that can climb stairs.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We spent 20 wonderful days at this unit. Its location is great being along a golf course fairway. Our evening sunsets were beautiful from the lanai along with the feeling of being in the country. The unit shows pride of ownership with the decor and the amenities it provides along with a very aloha onsite manager and staff. Having spent every year on our returns to the island and renting condos this unit was at the top. We really loved spending the time their and look forward to our return trip next year. We have not actually stayed in this unit, but we visited the complex and noted the incredible views from this condo's lanai. We are in the hunt for a quieter place to stay the next time we visit Kona (far too much traffic noise in downtown), and this place is perfect! The golf course grounds are so beautiful, and the ocean views are incredible. Note that you might here a lawn mower once a week or so. We met the manager and he was very helpful and friendly. This complex is for those who wish to experience peace, quiet, and beauty while on their vacation, and it is conveniently close to shops and beaches. The owners are very responsive to emails, and they have a local property manager to help you with all your needs. We were unable to view the interior of the unit because there were people staying in it, but I would guess that the photos are representative of the inside.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just returned from a 3 week stay and this property is beyond expectations. Unit is very sound proof and private with spectacular views of the golf course and ocean. Property owners were very helpful with the booking process, answering all our questions and providing personal details of the area. Unit is very well equipped with everything anyone could possibly need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the grill on the lanai for our personal use. The grounds are emmaculate with shrubs, trees and flowers to enjoy. This unit has our highest recommendation to friends and family for future consideration. We would not hesitate to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This condo is a lovely and quiet retreat for relaxing after a long day of exploring the sights of Kona. Comfortable, clean, well stocked, great BBQ, wonderful western views over the gardens and golf course. Well-located for adventures up and down the Kona coast. The owners were helpful and timely with any questions we had about our stay. We had a great week following in the footsteps of King Kamehameha, kayaking, visiting the farmer's market (Wed thru Sun where you will find the best and cheapest vegetables and fruits), and relaxing on the balcony with fantastic views of the ocean. Highly recommend these accommodations for 2-3 people. The two bathrooms were appreciated. And I loved having WIFI available!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This condo doesn't want for anything. We couldn't ask for better response from owners on advise and personal experience for island travel. The convertible was great fun. The Island book in the the condo was priceless for beaches and sites to see. I would recommend this condo with the highest marks.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed in numerous condos. This condo at Keauhou Akahi is exceptional. First, the location. Keauhou is a lovely spot and just a stone's throw from Kahalu'u Beach and Kona Village. We prefer to stay in Keauhou because it is close to a large shopping center with a nice grocery store -KTA, and because it is away from the noise of downtown. This particular condo is especially nice for its location, its wonderful ocean view, and the quiet atmosphere. Neither my husband nor I are fans of A/C, and thankfully this condo doesn't need it. The condo gets wonderful ocean breezes and actually gets cool at night. Second, the condo is very nicely furnished. Its decor is not typical condo style. We love the tropical theme throughout, the comfortable bed, and the lovely antique replicas in the bedroom. We always take two computers and our Ipods with us and were very pleased with the secure wireless internet as well as the plug in option. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and the kitchen has every appliance and kitchen gadget imaginable - more than we have at home- however, we spent most of our time grilling on the Weber gas grill on the lanai. That was a treat, especially at sunset. Third, this condo has a nice group of neighbors and great management. Once we locked ourselves out of the unit, but the apartment manager, Tom, let us back in right away. We also found our dealings with the property management company to be professional and responsive. We needed to know the security password to the internet and received a call back within minutes giving us the information we requested. We cannot say enough about our experience at this lovely condo. About the owner: My husband Jerry and I have always loved Hawaii, especially the Big Island! We love the weather and relax the minute we get off the plane! Summer is our favorite time to come over and the best time for us, since I teach high school and two of our boys are still in school. When we visit, we grill on the lanai almost every night, snorkel at Two Step, and enjoy Kua Bay and Hapuna Beach. A couple of years ago, we went fishing on a charter boat and the boys caught two yellow fin tuna. At 120 and 110 lbs, they weren't huge but certainly the biggest fish the boys, who are trout fishermen, have ever caught! We like to take photographs and have taken some amazing pictures both during the day and at night at the volcano. That's a trip you have to make! A day trip to Hilo is also a lot of fun, especially on Saturday, market day. Jerry and I also like to try to make the condo nicer each time we come over. It's fun to think of others enjoying themselves here. Honestly, some of our happiest moments come when we read the comments left by our guests in our guestbook! We love to hear that they enjoy the condo as much as we do! So, if you are in need of a break from your hectic lives, come spend some time at our condo and make it your home away from home too! Why the Owner Chose Keauhou Akahi:
We looked at dozens of condos in Kona before deciding on this one. Above all, we wanted a gorgeous view and held our breath the moment we opened the front door! Large sliding glass doors open to the lanai and beyond is an unobstructed view of the ocean. We also wanted ocean breezes, because we didn't want a hot, stuffy condo that did not face the ocean so we could take advantage of natural air flow. Another requirement: close to Kona Village, grocery stores, and restaurants (which this is). Plus we wanted space! This condo has a large living area and two bathrooms, which is especially nice when traveling with children. We found it all in this lovely condo and know you will too.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Staying at this condo is the ultimate in relaxation! Tropical birds serenade you from the lanai. Tropical flowers scent the living room at night and we often hear strains of the Sheraton's luau music while sitting on the lanai enjoying the sunsets. What we especially value is the privacy. We can sit on the lanai sipping our morning coffee and not see another person, because this condo does not face any other building or condo, just a gorgeous ocean and the lovely grounds of the golf course. The location is convenient. Grocery shopping and a couple of nice little restaurants are available up the street at the Keauhou shopping center and some lovely beaches on Alii Drive are just minutes away as well. Our apartment manager who lives downstairs has been in every unit and told us ours is definitely the nicest. Our Hawaiian decor and carved koa furniture make our condo unique and not your average condo!
On nights when the Sheraton has a luau, you can hear Hawaiian music from our lanai. Coupled with a gorgeous sunset, you have your our own private show.
Most of all, this condo feels more like home than a traditional condo. The decor is warm and inviting and tastefully decorated in the aloha style. The bed has extra padding atop the mattress, a Hawaiian comforter, and blankets to spare. The kitchen is stocked with utensils, appliances, and condiments. The gas grill is ready to fire up. Everything you need is there. We open the door, put down our suitcases, and relax.
