Why the Owner Chose Keauhou Akahi
We looked at dozens of condos in Kona before deciding on this one. Above all, we wanted a gorgeous view and held our breath the moment we opened the front door! Large sliding glass doors open to the lanai and beyond is an unobstructed view of the ocean. We also wanted ocean breezes, because we didn't want a hot, stuffy condo that did not face the ocean so we could take advantage of natural air flow. Another requirement: close to Kona Village, grocery stores, and restaurants (which this is). Plus we wanted space! This condo has a large living area and two bathrooms, which is especially nice when traveling with children. We found it all in this lovely condo and know you will too.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Staying at this condo is the ultimate in relaxation! We hear the wild goats in the morning on the mountain behind the condo when we open the door. Tropical birds serenade us from the lanai. What we especially value is the privacy.
We can sit on the lanai with our morning coffee and not see another person because this condo does not face any other building or condo. The mature tropical landscaping frames the entire complex and at night the smell the flowers wafts through the living room. On nights when the Sheraton has a luau, we can hear Hawaiian music from our lanai. Coupled with a gorgeous sunset, we get our own private show.
Most of all, this condo feels more like home than a traditional condo. The decor is warm and inviting. The bed has extra padding atop the mattress, a Hawaiian comforter, and blankets to spare. The kitchen is stocked with utensils, appliances, and condiments. The gas grill is ready to fire up. Everything we need is there. We open the door, put down our suitcases, and relax.

My husband and I have made Hawaii our family vacation choice since our children were babies. We needed a break from the rain in Seattle! Our family enjoyed visiting Maui but fell in love with the Big Island, especially the Keauhou/Kona area. When we bought this beautiful condo, we were looking for a tranquil place to relax from hectic careers. We also wanted an accessible location, because our kids are always on the go! My husband and I bought this condo four years ago and realized a dream! We love the Big Island and this condo so much that we are delighted to share it with others so they can experience the same joy. Come to stay, relax, and enjoy the magnificent ocean view. This lovely condo was perfect! We truly enjoyed all the amenities offered; it was beautifully decorated yet so comfortable. Our time relaxing on the lanai was the best. Very good location--close to shopping and dining. We would certainly return for vacation again and we have recommended this property to friends. We can't say enough!

Just returned from a 3 week stay and this property is beyond expectations. Unit is very sound proof and private with spectacular views of the golf course and ocean. Property owners were very helpful with the booking process, answering all our questions and providing personal details of the area. Unit is very well equipped with everything anyone could possibly need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the grill on the lanai for our personal use. The grounds are emmaculate with shrubs, trees and flowers to enjoy. This unit has our highest recommendation to friends and family for future consideration. We would not hesitate to return.

This condo is a lovely and quiet retreat for relaxing after a long day of exploring the sights of Kona. Comfortable, clean, well stocked, great BBQ, wonderful western views over the gardens and golf course. Well-located for adventures up and down the Kona coast. The owners were helpful and timely with any questions we had about our stay. We had a great week following in the footsteps of King Kamehameha, kayaking, visiting the farmer's market (Wed thru Sun where you will find the best and cheapest vegetables and fruits), and relaxing on the balcony with fantastic views of the ocean. Highly recommend these accommodations for 2-3 people. The two bathrooms were appreciated. And I loved having WIFI available!

This condo doesn't want for anything. We couldn't ask for better response from owners on advise and personal experience for island travel. The convertible was great fun. The Island book in the the condo was priceless for beaches and sites to see. I would recommend this condo with the highest marks.

My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed in numerous condos. This condo at Keauhou Akahi is exceptional. First, the location. Keauhou is a lovely spot and just a stone's throw from Kahalu'u Beach and Kona Village. We prefer to stay in Keauhou because it is close to a large shopping center with a nice grocery store -KTA, and because it is away from the noise of downtown. This particular condo is especially nice for its location, its wonderful ocean view, and the quiet atmosphere. Neither my husband nor I are fans of A/C, and thankfully this condo doesn't need it. The condo gets wonderful ocean breezes and actually gets cool at night. Second, the condo is very nicely furnished. Its decor is not typical condo style. We love the tropical theme throughout, the comfortable bed, and the lovely antique replicas in the bedroom. We always take two computers and our Ipods with us and were very pleased with the secure wireless internet as well as the plug in option. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and the kitchen has every appliance and kitchen gadget imaginable - more than we have at home- however, we spent most of our time grilling on the Weber gas grill on the lanai. That was a treat, especially at sunset. Third, this condo has a nice group of neighbors and great management. Once we locked ourselves out of the unit, but the apartment manager, Tom, let us back in right away. We also found our dealings with the property management company to be professional and responsive. We needed to know the security password to the internet and received a call back within minutes giving us the information we requested. We cannot say enough about our experience at this lovely condo. " Thanks for making our stay on the Big Island so wonderful! The breezes throughout the day really kept the condo cool. We just kept the ceiling fan on and locked the screen door. At night, we noticed the lovely smell of tropical flowers wafting through the living room. We feel at home every time we stay at your condo and had everything we needed and more. Kona coffee is the best, so it was a nice touch to have the electric coffee grinder! My husband and I will be coming back soon!"

This condo is tastefully furnished, clean, well-maintained, and has all the amentities of home (which is not true of other condos). It has a wonderful lanai to simply enjoy your morning coffee or a late night BBQ, or just watch the birds, golfers, and sparkling blue water. The sunsets from here are breathtaking. The local people in the complex are friendly and helpful. The pool is a great place to relax and refresh when you want a break from the many beaches and tourist activities. This condo is a place I will return to - very relaxing and welcoming. Thanks to the owners for answering many questions as well.
