GREAT BEACH HOUSE

Guest: Jody (Austin)
Date of Stay: 09/16/11 Review Submitted: 09/20/11

This is a perfect little beach house. Tastefully decorated and casual it has everything you would want and is very comfortable. Good location, gas stove, great beds, charcoal grill, breezes and marsh views on the porch. I look forward to returning soon.

Ah, Thats the Life

Casual and Comfortable describes my stay at Eliza's Close to the Beach House. Everything seemed to a have little special touch here and there that made the stay worth smiling about. I love that the beach is short a walk away, along the native grasses and flowers. Makes an adventure of discovering the homes beach access. The home had everything we needed and the kitchen is just the right size for creating home made migas and fresh glazed salmon steaks to sushi. I plan on returning for more of that lost in a small Texas beach town experience.

Anniversary Get-a-Way Weekend

Guest: Nicole (Houston)
Date of Stay: 03/04/11 Review Submitted: 03/29/11

When my husband and I first drove up to Eliza's house, we could not believe how cute it looked. The downstairs/backyard has everything you need to hang out, relax, grill, and socialize. The decks are so big and the third story perch is awesome. We went when it was still "winter", but really enjoyed ourselves. The house has everything you need minus food. The pictures really don't do the kitchen and living room justice. The furniture is very comfortable and the kitchen is amazing. The showers are very large and so are the rooms. More than enough room for 4 people to go and stay. We also brought our furry little friend!! We were so excited to bring him. He loves the beach!! The only thing we weren not too fond and (it didn't affect our wonderful time, but thats why I didnt give 5 stars) was the king size bed. Our backs were in so much pain the next few days. We had a difficult time sleeping on it, since its so firm/old/uneven. But other than replacing that, Eliza's house is perfect for a get-a-way weekend.

Owner response:In the 5 years I have shared my house with beach go-ers, have only had 1 other dis-satisfied guest with the king size futon in the master bedroom. I absolutely love a firm bed and this futon is very well made, the traditional way with many layers of cotton interspersed with foam for more spring. I've added a firm king mattresses underneath the futon for more spring and on top have a tempurpedic pad and feather bed mattress-topper for added cush. And it gets flipped and fluffed regularly....If you like a firm bed, its proven comfortable over the years...Thanks for the kudos, otherwise!!

Christmas on the Beach!

Guest: Lila and Dean (Oklahoma)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/17/11

From the first moment we walked in we all felt at home. There were five adults with three of us actually staying there. She had decorations up for Christmas which was wonderful as we had none with us. She is so well stocked that all we needed to bring basically was shampoo and food. It is in a great location and Eliza was absolutely the best with communication! Had a terrific time and would stay in Eliza's home again! PS Great shrimp basket down the road at Kody's.

We stayed at Eliza’s this past weekend and would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for that relaxing, get-away vacation that’s just perfect for a couple’s retreat. It’s also a good location for bird-watching and it was wonderful to have the sounds of the waves while we slept. With all of the little touches and eclectic flair that is unique to its owner, “Eliza’s Close to the Beach” was a memorable place for us and we look forward to going back again. Soon!

Great vacation

Guest: June 2010 (Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/11/10 Review Submitted: 06/19/10

I, my wife, and our two kids stayed at Eliza's place for a week in mid-June 2010. It was our first trip to Port A and we had a great time. Eliza was very helpful and made the rental easy. Eliza's House - Plenty of room for four people - Clean and well-furnished - Allowing our dog to stay there made the vacation that much better - A block or so from the beach (walk to the beach in under five minutes, drive there in about one minute) - A block from a convenience store and a surf shop - A couple of miles from the main town (convenient to get to the restaurants and shops) Port Aransas - Nice little beach town - Mostly residential and geared towards families (not many bars, clubs, and night life) - exactly what we were looking for - Being able to park on the beach (about 100 feet from the water) was nice (not too far to carry stuff, could hope in the car to go get something) We had a blast and are looking forward to staying at Eliza's again.

Beach Weekend

Guest: Martha (Dripping Springs, TX)

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eliza's beach house. It was well appointed, very comfortable, and within easy walking distance to the beach. On a side note, my son left a pile of clothes at the house and Eliza was kind of enough to let us know and return them to us. She's great and so is her property!

Long Vacation Weekend

Guest: Kelly and Therese (San Angelo, TX)
Date of Stay: 10/16/09 Review Submitted: 04/12/10

We stayed at Eliza's in celebration of our 25th anniversary. We have rented at Port A for 12 years, 2x/year, and I can absolutely say this is the most nicely appointed, most comfortable home we have rented. Eliza described her house as a home, and it is exactly that. The porch was relaxing, in the shade all afternoon with great breezes and subtle wind chimes. I was appreciative that the porch included comfortable furniture (some rentals have zero.) Kitchen was very "cook friendly." Dining area is roomy and comfortable. Entire home is soothing and gentle, clean and well maintained. We were able to park my husband's large truck under the house in the shade, easily. Also, Eliza is an EXCELLENT masseuse. If your idea of comfort includes a massage, be sure to ask her about her spa services.

Owner response:Wow! Thanks for the praise, you guys stayed there many months ago and still you have good memories, well, it was your anniversary! I especially love for couples and small groups of friends to absorb the rejuvenating retreat vibe that it offers...

We had another wonderful visit at Eliza's in August. We just love her house! It's perfect for us and the dogs. There's nothing better than sitting on the deck with the dogs, watching the day go by. So peaceful! Thanks again Eliza! We hope to be back again soon! :)

Elizas' Close-to-the-Beach House exceeded our expectations. Very nice ammenities, quiet and very peaceful. We were so comfortable it was a little hard to leave and go explore the island. Even our dog didn't want to leave. I highly recommend Elizas' place to anyone wanting a peaceful spot away from the hustle-and-bustle of town.

Owner response:So glad you enjoy it as much as I do! It's a great get-away...even as windy as it can be or under cloudy skies, being close to the beach in a comfy place deeply soothes the soul.

We stayed at Eliza's in November 2006 for a little 10th anniversary getaway. We had a wonderful time! The house is so cute and charming and was very comfortable. The location was wonderful as well. We were able to bike up to the water and down the beach, around town, walk on the boardwalk to the water, etc. It was so quiet and peaceful sitting out on the deck and relaxing. In addition, it was a huge plus for us finding a place that allowed pets, since we prefer to vacation with our dogs. This is now our favorite place to stay in Port A. We look forward to coming back soon! Thanks so much!

Owner response:Thanks for the feedback, glad you had such a great time. Thanks for being such nice guests and taking care of my place. Tell your friends! Eliza
