Blue Palm Villa – St John USVI 9 Nights in August 2012 We stayed at the Villa for the first time this year. I have a family of 5 and it was our second vacation to the island as a family. The island is well documented as wonderful and the house was better than expected. I knew it would be a great place to call home for our trip and it was perfect in all respects: Great owners to work with, a nice meet-and-greet as you arrive, easily accessible yet very private, clean and comfortable, and a floor plan that works well for almost any occasion or family. Our family had rented another home on our last trip to the island and I knew exactly what I wanted this trip. It met all my expectations and will not have to research where to stay next trip back. I just hope it is available! Thank you Woody and Joan Mike Martin – Austin TX

Blue Palm Villa is in a great location to access Coral Bay and the north shore beaches. The villa itself had everything we needed.....a beautiful pool, beach chairs/towels, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, and enough space that we weren't on top of each other! The ceiling fans and sliding doors offered enough of a great breeze that the air-conditioning wasn't even necessary. The three bedrooms were all nice size with comfortable beds and the sofa sleeper was comfortable for my 12 year old child. The views from the villa are spectacular!

This comfortable home sits high on the Upper Carolina hill, with a lovely view of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain. It's a great setting for early risers to watch and listen as the island comes alive each day. The paved road makes for easy access to the villa, and the surrounding neighborhood is a great location for early morning exercise walks. Friendly neighbors will greet you, as will the donkeys that are just hoping you forget to secure the gate. The villa has a very functional layout, with plenty of privacy for all guests, but equally abundant seating in the common areas. The covered veranda was a big plus (especially because we had rain everyday for our entire vacation,) as was the recently added outdoor coffee bar and sun deck...two very wise additions on the part of the owners. Comfy beds. Only a few modest updates to appliances and furnishings are suggested. Despite our interesting weather (haven't experienced that much rain in the entire last decade of travels to St. John,) we still managed to find a sunny beach for at least a portion of each day. Round Bay/Haulover Bay and Lamashur were often just outside of the storm paths hitting the north shore beaches. We had great meals both in and out of the villa...prior reviewers have mentioned plenty of our favorites. However, for the first time, we visited Waterfront Bistro in Cruz Bay for a special 55th birthday dinner. It's one of the few restaurants on the island where you actually see people dressed up for dinner (although there are still those in jeans and t-shirts...no worries.) We all agreed that it was the best meal we've ever had on St. John, and perhaps the entire Virgin Islands. Tony, the waiter, will always be remembered for his creative and extraordinary efforts to keep us dry throughout the monsoon-like weather that hit that evening. The owners were always very prompt with communication, and responsive to our inquiries.

Ideally located overlooking Coral Bay, this was a perfect home for our friends and ourselves. The attention to comfort is everywhere and being newly completed, nothing was old or in disrepair. The owners are a delight to deal with and the home afforded us the perfect retreat from which to enjoy St. John's beaches and snorkeling.

Owner response: It was a pleasure to have you as guest. We look forward to sharing our home with you again.

Our family had the opportunity to travel to St. John the early part of August 2011. The Blue Palm Villa was absolutely the best choice for us. The views are stunning and the home is lovely. The pictures are very accurate and, in fact, the view is even better than the pictures. You definitely feel secluded from it all. The lot is private and surrounded by natural landscaping. This home is perfect for families/couples traveling together. There are three separate areas - all with their own bathrooms. The main house has a large family room and well-equipped kitchen. One of the separate living areas also has its own kitchen. We traveled with four adults and one teenager. The layout definitely suited us. Best of all, Woody and Joan are wonderful to work with. They communicate with you several weeks before your arrival and they have local representatives to assist you. They also provide an on-site informational notebook which contains many tips, restaurant menus, and things you should know about the area. We have utilized VRBO for many trips over the years. This was by far the best experience for us.

We had a great experience at Blue Palm Villa! This is the 4th different place we've rented on our STJ travels and the combination of amenities puts it on the top of the list. The villa is in a good location near Coral Bay restaurants and close to the North Shore road. There is a paved (yes paved) road all the way to the villa. The views of Coral Bay and the valley below Bordeaux are wonderful. The villa was clean, well stocked, well furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. This feels more like a home than a rental property. And lastly, the pool is a great addition to it all. Our experiences with the owners, liasion, and groundskeeper were always top notch. This villa is definitely on our "short list" for a return visit.

Our stay at Blue Palm Villa on St. John exceeded our expectations. The photos and description online were magnificent, but the actual house and location were better! Clean, well maintained and attention to detail was all excellent. Local cost cutting ideas as well as a personal escort to the house was most welcome, even after our plane was late. Overall, we couldn't ask for anything more.

Our week at Blue Palm Villa was great! Beautiful view of Coral Bay, convenient to several beaches, beautiful villa with nice amenities. We had a very relaxing week, beautiful sunrises, we even saw meteor showers. We rented 2 private bedrooms in separate buildings, one with full size kitchen, one with functional kitchenette. Balconies off each bedroom with great view. Our only concern was the roads which were partially washed out due to the 18 inches of rain in August.

We had a wonderful stay at Blue Palm Villa. The home was very clean, well-maintained and comfortable. It was well equipped and attractively furnished. The owners, Joan and Woody Pool were extremely helpful and patient as they answered my many countless questions!! The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the balconies off each bedroom. The upper bedroom with its own kitchen was really nice and we and the other couple both had privacy. The landscaping was beautiful with lots of flowers and fruit and vegetables. We had a couple of cucumbers and starfruit. There was also a papaya tree on the property as well We would stay at Blue Palm again and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thanks Woody and Joan!

Blue Palm Villa provides all that you could possibly expect from a vacation home....and then bumps it up another notch. The home is very well maintained but what separates this one from the others is the attention to the details. From the comfortable beds, top quality linens and towels, to the level of personal service from the owners - this home really does have it all. The phenomenal view looking down into Coral Bay is well worth the price and the location is ideal...which is all relative when staying on St. John. Some must do's when visiting: 1) Snorkeling anywhere, 2) Dinner at Mrs. Lucy's, 3) Visit the National Park Building in Cruz Bay to sign up for any of their events. The park rangers can supply you with some great ideas while visiting., 4) Morning coffee at Blue Palm overlooking Coral Bay followed up with Banana Pancakes at the Donkey Diner.

The Pool's are great to work with, very friendly with a professional attitude. Blue Palm Villa is a beautiful, well designed and decorated home. We loved the seperate living areas, which allowed us privacy while traveling with two other couples. My favorite area was the balcony off the bedroom, it was very relaxing to just sit and read and enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Another perfect design was the bar/counter next to the pool overlooking landscape, I don't think my husband moved from that location, unless we were gone from the villa!!! We really enjoyed the pool, especially in the evening with a drink and appetizer after a marvelous day of snorkling at the beaches. (Thanks for providing beach chairs!) Cooking was very easy with all the amenities you have available. Only thing easier was eating out at the wonderful local restaurants, which we did on occasion. Great place, thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous “home away from home” with us. We had a wonderful time exploring the natural beauty of St. John by day, but having the Blue Palm Villa to come back to made the week extra special. It truly is a little piece of heaven…the great room and kitchen are big and beautiful, the king bedrooms are lovely, and the outdoor covered dining area is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The views of Coral Bay and the mountains are spectacular, and the pool is great, particularly for kids. The breezes, particularly in the upper bedroom, are fabulous, and the covered balconies are great for reading. This home is all you could want in a vacation villa. We can’t wait to go back!

What a spectacular villa. All the comforts of home and the views are breathtaking. The grounds are beautifully adorned with fruit trees and flowers of all kinds. Stargazing from the pool is a real treat. I highly recommend this villa for your next vacation. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming.

I would definitely recommend the Blue Palm Villa! It was an awesome house with an outstanding view. The pool and landscaping were great too. I loved Coral Bay and would definitely stay there over Cruz Bay. It is much less crowded and our favorite restaurants (Sweet Plantains, Ms. Lucy's, Skinny Legs, Donkey Diner, and the roadside BBQ at the fork in Coral Bay called Reggie's) ended up all being in Coral Bay. It was pretty centrally located to the best beaches, which made it at most a 20 minute drive to the best spots, most only 10 minutes. When we return to St. John I definitely hope that the Blue Palm Villa is available!!! I have no reservation recommending this house!

Our 4th trip to St. John. We were there in July 08 -6 of us total. Blue Palm Villa is a geat place to enjoy the beauty of St. John. The house is great, and very well decorated. We enjoyed the restaurants in Coral Bay and it is easy to get to north shore beaches. The house provided 3 couples with privacy in their own suites with great locations in the great room and pool areas for socializing.

This was our third visit to St John, first stay at Blue Palm Villa. Your villa has it all, beautifully decorated and everything needed to make our trip enjoyable. My favorite place is sitting by the pool looking out over Coral Bay, the most breathtaking view anyone could image. Accommodations First Class all the way. You don’t every have to leave the villa, but restaurants, shopping and beautiful beaches are close by and an easy drive to. I've recommended Blue Palm Villa to all my friends. We plan to stay here on our next trip, too.

Lovely and comfortable home! We had a terrific time at Blue Palm Villa. Sadly our two weeks went by much too quickly. We've rented many houses on St John and this one ranks as one of our all-time favorites!
