Big Bear Cabin...The setting is a beautiful hardwood forest in the charming Smoky Mountain area just outside of Murphy, North Carolina. There is easy access from Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Asheville. A paved road just outside of town leads you to this lovely area where the trees are tall, and the air is clean and crisp.
This cabin is 1700 square feet with a floor to ceiling rock fireplace and hardwood floors. There are two bedrooms with pillow top queen size beds and a queen sleeper sofa in the spacious loft for your comfort. Big Bear Cabin is light and airy with cathedral ceiling and a carport for your convenience. Central heat and air, ceiling fans, and gas logs will keep you comfortable in all seasons.
From this comfortable and spacious cabin you can go rafting, kayaking, or fishing on the Nantahala River, pontooning or canoeing on the pristine high country Nantahala Lake. Take a hike on the Appalachian Trail or enjoy a concert or class at the John C. Campbell Folk School. And for leaf watchers, the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness Area is not to be matched. Search for antiques and have lunch in one of the small, quaint mountain communities. When you're tired and home for the day, kick back to watch a great movie on your 37 inch LCD TV or simply relax on the porch with your favorite book. Breathe the fresh mountain air and let your spirit soar.

We stayed at the cabin from April 7th until April 14th. It is a beautiful home. My son loved the loft area. My husband has family in the area so we got to visit them and they came over to visit us one night and have dinner. We went to Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland, Ga, Helen, Ga., Blue Ridge, Ga., Bryson City and Cherkoee, NC. At night we came home and just relaxed by the fire place or out on the deck. We would recommended this cabin. We will also rent the cabin again next year. We try to get down to Murphy once a year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Cabin was as clean as any we have ever stayed in. It had everything you could need. I really enjoyed sitting on the the deck early in the morning as I read and enjoyed my coffee. Was convenient to many activities and only 10 min from downtown Murphy where there we some nice local restaurants. Would definitely recommend to other s and hope to return myself.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

This cabin was wonderful. Fully equipped with everything necessary to make a house a home. As motorcyclists, the road up is paved but steep, single lane (someone has to back up). We would stay again.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This is our 5th stay in the Murphy area and this cabin is at the top of our list! It is very spacious with a great floor plan, tastfully decorated and well stocked with all the amenities you need. It's near to town and to any other side trips you want to take. We especially liked the gated porch for our little dog and the outside eating area as well as the porch rockers and swing to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors! The pictures of the cabin on the internet site are exactly what you get in person ! Loved the privacy but still near enough to the friendly neighbors! This cabin is worth every dollar it rents for !Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We've been several times and liked the floor plan so much, we adopted a lot of it into our recently built new home. It's quiet, family friendly and only a few minutes from downtown Murphy. All the sites are close by and make for several "day trips" if you're looking for hiking, shopping, site seeing, boating, white-water rafting, etc. It's a great place - no joke.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
