Larry, thank you for the use of your place and the personal attention and help you provided before and during our stay. I appreciate the information provided regarding lift tickets and ski school and general information about the area. The unit is awesome and has everything and more than one could want and was perfect for myself and my wife and our 5 and 7 year old kids. The best thing is the location which is right next to the "Village" (walking distance across bridge) but is still quiet where there is the gondola to Canyon Lodge where the ski schools were and where one can get all there rentals. We ate in the nicely appointed kitchen with everything one needs but in the "Village" there are tons of shops and places to eat, "Starbucks" ice cream store, massage place, and even some night spots for those with more energy all within a short walk. We never used our car except to go get a pizza at Giovanni's. Another great feature was the sleds which our kids loved and we used on the first and last days on hills right next to the condo. There is the ski back trail which we didn't use but the trail ends literally a few hundred feet from the front door! I can't say enough about the place and how much we enjoyed it and the support you provided, such as the immediate response you provided (next day) to get the jacuzzi heated up so thank you again and if anyone is considering a great place to stay in Mammoth you will be happy you picked this one.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

hanks so much for letting us use your home! You did a fabulous job on the remodel!. We Just LOVE the chairlift in the entry. Perfect for putting shoes and boots on. The boot dryers also kept our equipment dry and the board/ski storage room is great idea. The computer helps also, even tho we were able to connect wireless with the Village. The beds are so comfortable, we overslept almost every day. Nice that we dont have noise from the Village and your condo is conveniently away from the noise of the hot tub and sauna. (nice to walk to, but appreciate the quiet). We also liked the new fluffy towels and nice sheets! Most places have the old towels that everyone uses and we hate so we usually bring our own, so Thank you. Oh, almost forgot the location! PERFECT. We walked everywhere. We walked across the bridge to the Village for Dinner at Gomez, and had nice wine at the wine bar next door, (forgot the name) but they had great wines by the glass. We also walked down to Whiskey Creek which was a beautiful walk in the snow! Thanks Again! We Highly recommend your home to Everyone and cant wait until next year to visit again. Save us a week~! Rick~Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, We appreciate your comments. Let me know what week you want and I can reserve it and offer you a repeat discount! Larry & Jean

I have rented this unit the past 2 years with my wife, her sister, and brother-in-law and our experience there has been A+ on both occasions. Not only is the unit spacious and very well kept, the location is perfect right off the village and close to the gondola and bus/trolley stops. My dealings with the owners have been nothing but perfect as well, easy to reach out to, and always helpful with any questions or issues. I HIGHLY recommend this condo and look forward to more visits there in the future.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Dave! Thanks for taking care of our home. You are of course welcome back every year!

Hi Larry, We just wanted to thank you for the use of your beautiful condo. We had such a wonderful time! The location is perfect...couldn't be better. I am already looking at the calendar to see when we can go up again. I'm sure you will have a great time up there this weekend, it dumped all day Thursday. At the very least if we can't make it up there again this season, we are hoping that you will have the availability for the first week of January '08. Thanks again :) Brandi & Jake CharmelloDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Larry, Your place was beautiful. It was fun looking at the photos of the hard work you have put into making it so nice. Those windows make for great natural light and a spectacular view. I wonder if the downstairs units have so much natural light, especially in the master bedroom. You really have a nice touch with your attention to detail to make it enjoyable for your guests. The Plasma T.V., Receiver, DVD setup was perfect. When we were not watching T.V. we had one of the cable music stations on the whole time. It was nice to spend some time with the kids watching a DVD each night before we all went to bed. We also used the fireplace and the wet bar each night. The way the entry is setup with a bench and hooks for jackets, etc. is just perfect. The mattress, linen and that ceiling fan over the master bed made it very comfortable. We had no trouble sleeping, which is always tough when you are not at home. So many other simple, little things made it such a comfortable stay, like all of the throw pillows in the living room, the little bowl on the master dresser for emptying your pockets, all the dishes and pans in the kitchen; heck we even used that cool cork screw you had on the bar. It really saved us some money with the boys by going to Vons and stocking up on food for them. They were so tired each night they did not want to go out anyway. That way we could spend all of our food and dining money on just the two of us. I almost completely forgot about the location! Wow. The day we came into town we drove up to the main lodge once. After that, every time the boys went to the mountain they just walked over and took the gondola. We drove around a few times to check out the other parts of the town, but most of the time we just walked over to the village for a drink or some food. My son has already told us that I need to talk with you about using your place again next year for his vacation. A couple of suggestions (take them with a grain of salt): 1. If you had DSL or Cable Modem there you could set up a wireless network for less than $100. Most people have wireless on their laptops now. I do realize you would have the recurring expense of the broadband, but it would be another nice touch to put in your listing, plus you may even use it while you are up there. (Wifi is avail to tie into from the "Village" or phone line. 2. This did not matter to us, because there were only four of us, but if you put aDid you find this review helpful? In a message dated 1/1/2007 11:12:19 A.M. Pacific Standard Time amcgrath at pmcos com writes: Larry- Happy New Year! Got back yesterday with no trouble. The condo was terrific and we can't wait to return!! We loved the Christmas tree as well as we had to leave ours behind! Unfortunately, we filled the dishwasher with detergent and had it allset to go but realized in Bishop that we had forgotten to turn it on - so sorry for this inconvenience!!!! We really meant to be perfect guests :) Steve never showed up but we just plugged garbage disposal in without a problem. No other issues -everything was terrific. In fact, our 4 1/2 year old asked if we could stay in the same "cottage" every time we go to Mammoth. He loved it and especially loved the chair lift! We will definitely contact you about other dates this season. Thank you so much for everything! Ann and Matthew McGrathDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Owner info
About the owner: I have been travelling to Mammoth since high school! Both my wife and I love to ski and we are avid outdoors persons. We travel to ski in the winter and the beach in the summer. Some of the photos in our home are of the places we have sailed including the Brittish Virgin Islands; South Pacific-Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora; The Great Barrier Reef in Australia; Thailand; St Barths; Bequia, Mustique and many other islands. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Val D'Isere:
We looked at buying several locations. Our friends said this was a better location since they were getting ready to start the Ski Back Trail.
It was in horrible condition, but we were able to do a nice little remodel and basically threw everything out and stripped everything to the walls.
We also like the smaller complex (only48 units )and it was well managed.
This year we plan to install new wood floors.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
a great location central to everything. We can usually park right at our front door and never have to drive. The ski back trail takes us almost to our door. The village is across the street where the gondola is. The market, restaurants, night life, transportation is all right there.
The pool, jacuzzi, sauna were all redone last year and we are on the quieter end of the complex.
