This Villa at Hacienda Pinilla was FABULOUS!!! The Villa was equipped with everything you could imagine or need! Luxurious interior furnishings, 3 bedrooms w/3.5 baths, very roomy, stocked kitchen, fabulous master bedroom! This Villa was spotless! As a very picky traveler, I definitely would rate this property an A+ in the cleanliness department. As a frequent traveler to Costa Rica as well as Hacienda Pinilla, I would definitely recommend this particular Villa! We will stay here again! It is located very close to the JW Marriott as well. The property owner has thought of everything; great information was also provided regarding tours & adventures in Costa Rica. Hacienda Pinilla is a great resort - beaches, pools, fitness center, horses & stables, great security, always felt safe & secure, the list goes on and on. This Villa receives 5 STARS from the Atlanta travelers! We will be back!

We really loved the ambiance of this property. It was very spacious and comfortable and CLEAN! The beds were extremely cozy, and I loved hanging out on the balcony in the hammock enjoying the view. The beach club was wonderful, the pool was beautiful and the beach was right there for you to enjoy. I really liked having the ability to sit at the bar outside and enjoy a cool and refreshing beverage. They also served a delicious lunch either at the bar or at the restaurant right there on the grounds. No need to pack up......you can go down for the day and have everything right there that you need. Jeff was great to work with, and he provided all of the necessary information to feel knowledgeable for the area. You can really feel the pride of ownership in this property. I would recommend their place to anyone I know going to Tamarindo.

This place was amazing! It met all my needs and the photos accurately reflect the beauty of the property. It is located on a nature reserve with access to three different beaches without even leaving the property. There is a beach club with great food, nice pool, very clean and smiling staff. The surf shack at the beach club offers lessons and surf board rentals and the Playa Avallena is a great beginners surfing spot. We spent every day there and had a great time. We even walked down the beach to Lolla's a couple of times to have a fantastic lunch with beautiful views and watch the more advanced surfers on the waves. The home itself is clean and nicely appointed with easy access to it's own pool. Jeff Axelrod, the owner, was very helpful and had many good tips for me as this was my first time to Costa Rica and I brought my 2 month old baby and a girlfriend and I had such a great time that I will definately be coming back! If you do go, make sure to go to Nuigi's in Tamarindo and order the fish tacos - yum!

I stayed at the Villa at Hacineda Pinilla with a friend on a "girl's trip" the last week in January and loved every minute! The villa is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The amenities were outstanding and we wanted to stay longer! Be sure to go to the beach club for the great pool and even take surf lessons 1 1/2 hr for $50 and you can rent a board for $20/4 hours. The beach was never crowded and the waves were perfect for beginner surfers like us. I highly recommend walking 10 minutes down the beach Playa Avellanas to try Lola's for lunch - the food is awesome and the atmosphere is memorable. Take your camera for the beautiful sunsets. There are so many things to do at the resort that you'd really never need to leave except to pick up a few groceries. Having the JW Marriott next door was also very convenient if you wanted to go for a nice dinner or check out there gift shop for souvenirs. We ate at the steak house one evening and it was delicious. The only negative thing to say would be the road into the Hacienda Pinilla is unpaved and very rough in patches. A homeowner at the same complex explained the road is planned to be paved eventually. No reason not to stay at this beautiful property. We drove into Tamarindo a few times for sightseeing, groceries and lunch at the beachfront restaurant Nogui's (best fish tacos!). It's a fun town and worth a visit. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and loved the Hacienda Pinilla. You will too! Pura Vida!

Having just returned from the Hacienda Pinilla I wanted to write a review to reassure anyone that is considering staying here. From the first moment we drove up to the property we were impressed with the security, grounds and villa. The villa is everything that it's advertised and much more! My husband and I were vacationing with another couple and we found the accommodations extremely comfortable as well as affordable. We enjoyed going over to the JW Marriott and swimming in their pool and using there spa as well as eating at the Beach Club. The beaches found on the property are truly the best beaches in Costa Rica! We particularly enjoyed Langosta beach as we felt that it was are own private beach as many times we were the only ones there. We had a great vacation and hope to be able to return again in the future!

Our family stayed here for a week near the end of November. The villa was everything we expected and more. The description and photos were perfect and the owner was very helpful and quick in answering our many questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend this property and would certainly return. We would suggest the Posada Hotel and the Beach Club for meals. The pools around the property were fantastic. The beaches were beautiful and shells were very different from any I have seen before. The wildlife and gardens around the property were amazing.

This place was off the charts. It was a luxury home that is well cared for. This was our first time in Costa Rica and this place made us feel at home. Great location for a home base while still visiting other parts of the country. The owner was more than accommodating. Would recommend to friends and will be back.

Our Stay at Hacienda Pinilla was fantastic! The villa was beautiful, clean and comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. My wife loved the beach and pool options, especially the Beach Club. My son and his friends really enjoyed the watersports and nightlife of Tamarindo. While I also enjoyed these activities, I LOVE to fish. I was pleasantly surprised by the fishing opportunities the area had to offer. Tamarindo has english speaking captains that put you on a variety of high quality fish. I would recommend Captain Lee (www.kingpin-sportfishing.com). While exploring the beach just down from the villa, I discovered a rocky shelf adjacent to deep water (on the right hand side of the cove as you face the ocean, 3/4 of the way out). Wade to the edge of the shelves to catch hardfighting ladyfish and several species of snapper for the grill. I even landed a 6ft wahoo, my biggest fish ever! Bring your own rod/tackle as supplies at the Tamarindo hardware store are limited and expensive. White hair jigs, 1/2 oz. to 1/16 oz. tipped with white gulp twister tails worked well. It's important to note you can only fish this area 1.5 to 2 hrs on either side of low tide (check Tamarindo tide charts online). It's also best to explore the area at low tide the first time out....swim socks and polarized sunglasses are a must. Now that's what I call a vacation!

The property and condo are absolutely perfect - we only wish we could have stayed longer than 8 days! Lots of beautiful beaches, wild monkeys and large iguanas, plenty of privacy but felt very safe, and the most gorgeous sea shells I have ever seen in the "wild". Be sure to visit the Beach Club at Playa Avellanas and check out the new Marriott on the property. And if you are a golfer - don't miss the Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course. The layout is all through the property, so you see lots of different terrain, including 2 holes with the beautiful Pacific Ocean right next to you. Wide open fairways, but my group still lost a ball or two! The condo has all you will need, and if you have issues or questions, the property manager is quick to react! Visit the quaint surfing village Tamarindo - very fun. Costa Rica will definitely be a favorite destination for you!
