Romantic Log Cabin in Serene North Carolina Mountains

Cross the Eastern Continental Divide into a world of beauty and relaxation.
Uncle Stacy's Cabin is named after my Uncle who lived here well into his golden years with my Aunt Burdell. This was our favorite vacation destination. Besides enjoying their warm fellowship, we loved the surrounding beauty and serenity. Its not often that you come across a place where you can slow down, sit in a rocking chair on the front porch and feel like your the only ones on earth.
You are invited to enjoy the simpler joys in life. Watch the sun set on the Blue Ridge Mountains. Gaze at millions of stars in the clear night sky. Find yourself holding your breath as you realize the deer at the edge of the trees have not seen you.
There are plenty of things to do like rafting on the New River, hiking, golfing, antique shopping, Barn Dances and local wineries to mention a few. The pace is slower here. You'll find friendly folks along the way that smile, wave, and are happy to show you what mountain living is all about.
We provide all the comforts of home. You need only to prepare yourself to surrender to a simpler life. Enjoy nature, breath in the crisp mountain air and quinch your thirst with spring water from the mountain not a bottle.

The week has gone all too quickly in this quiet corner of North Carolina. We have never explored this area and found it much to our liking. The cabin has been so comfortable, we have appreciated the peace of this place as well as so many amenities. We do hope to be back. Don & Colleen Chattanooga, TNDid you find this review helpful? What a delightful weekend! Uncle Stacy's Cabin was so much more lovely and comfortable than we ever anticipated. Although the leaves were not as colorful as we hoped, the views were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the aderondeck chairs staring at the mtns, and late into the evening the stars were unbelievable - the Milky Way was in full view! We took some great hikes in Mt. Jefferson Park & Doughton Rec. Area, & some scenic drives - often lost but always enchanted. We will be back for sure. Thank you for welcoming us into your home.Did you find this review helpful? Peace, quiet, solitude! What a great get-away. It's been awhile since we have seen the brightness of the stars and heard so little! Wasn't sure such things existed anymore. The cabin oozes charm and warmth and is extremely comfortable and nicely furnished both with decor and supplies. We visited the Frescos, Shatley Springs, cheese factory, Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoyed the scenery. All in all a great experience that we hope to repeat (maybe even a week).Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

WOW! Great beauty and peace!I live on the Pamlico River in Eastern NC and thought it was heaven, but here, it is so peaceful and beautiful. Each morning, we saw deer grazing and cute little red squirrels. I have grey ones at my home. We did a lot of sightseeing. My favorite things were the Episcopal Churches and the frescoes and the Christmas tree farms. I had no idea of the number of trees. It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you for sharing your darling log cabin.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Linda and Russell A quick note to thank you for sharing Uncle Stacy's cabin with us over the past few days. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!! Just exactly what we expected and needed. Even the weather cooperated and was so much better than a rainy/windy weekend on the coast. The Christmas tree harvest was in full swing - had a chance to visit one of the farms and see the cutting and wrapping with mesh - really interesting. After we finish a busy travel schedule during the winter months, we will be in touch about a week in the spring. Take care and again thanks for a great few days in the mountains. Dear Linda, We had a wonderful time at the cabin and wished we could have stayed longer. Two days just isn't enough time to enjoy the land and front porch. I hope we can stay again soon. Kindly, Aundrea & MichaelDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dean Linda & Russell, Don & I want to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at Uncle Stacy's. It was such a nice break from the restaurant. The weather was great-even though it rained a bit the porch was covered well enough to set out and read. We liked the fact that you had nice dishes, flatware & matching glasses & plenty of pots & pans as we cooked every single meal. Even having tablecloths & a red, white & blue one to celebrate the 4th. The rhododendrons were at their peak. We enjoyed the town of Sparta & its farmer market. We would like to return. Warm regards, Don & Colleen.Did you find this review helpful?
