The Jewel is a lovely home away from home for those who are looking for a non-touristy vacation to the Big Island. You are away from the hustle and bustle of the resort areas. At first Milolii may seem remote, but give it a day or two and you will find yourself relaxing in a way you haven't before. The cottage has everything you need and Jamie and Bill are wonderful, generous hosts. If you don't have something in the house it is likely that they will have it if you ask! They take pride in the home and it shows. They want you to love the Jewel as much as they do. I, most certainly, do. There is swimming access into the ocean within short walking distance and fantastic Honumolino (might have spelled that wrong) beach within two miles. You will likely have the beach to yourself. I did most weekdays. My only complaint? My stay was too short!

This was the best house I rented on the Big Island. The constant ocean breezes kept me cool and comfortable. This is where you want to go to unwind and get away from it all. I was so happy I reserved my next year's stay while there. Listing is very accurate, you won't be disappointed.

We had the most wonderful two months staying at Jaimie and Bill's "Cottage with a View." Their place is setup for those who really enjoy camping and seeing the other side of Hawaiian culture. We really enjoyed hearing and seeing the whales from their great deck. Jaimie and Bill are great artists, and we appreciated their finishing touches on what we consider now our home away from home.

Jamie and Bill, owners of "The Jewel" cottage have taken recycle and conservation to a new and admirable level without compromising their guests comfort and enjoyment. This is a charming cottage. We had everything we needed and more. The Mosaics in the cottage were created with great artistic skill and added immeasurable to its charm. The sounds and sights of the ocean and sunsets from our Lani were truly memorable. This is a place for people who do not need luxury, appreciate peace and quiet and low environmental impact and a very fair price. Thank you Jamie and Bill.

The Jewel is a charming and enchanted cottage in Milolii. Bill and Jamie have put their heart and soul into capturing the essance of a cottage. The mosaics created by Bill are phenomenal, the sounds of the whales at night are thrilling and the walk to the private beach at Honomolino is magical! This is a must for anyone who wants to get off the "beaten track" and experience South Kona in an unique and fun vacation experience!

Staying at the 'Jewel' is not just a vacation but a life altering experience. I have never had a more enjoyable and relaxing vacation in my life. This is saying a lot from a very high strung Type A person. The owners, Bill & Jamie treat you like family. We were so comfortable at the 'Jewel' we ditched all our tourist plans and just hung out in the valley watching whales from our deck, hunting for shells along the shoreline, and laying on the black sand beach surrounded by coconut trees. We have already booked our next two weeks vacation there.

We loved the Jewel and Jaimie & Bill. The 3 go together. They are written all over it. Its a peaceful simple quiet place to get away from the busy life we live. The best beach we found on the island was only a few minutes away. When we come to the Big Island again this is where we will stay. The Stumpff Family

I have stayed at 'The Jewel' threee times now. There is nothing else quite like this place on Earth. The most beautiful, peaceful and charming place I have ever been. Bill and Jamie are the greatest of hosts. Many thanks for many happy times at your house.

Loved our stay in Milolii. The "jewel" is truly a precious find. Bill and Jamie provide a place to forget the date and time. If you're looking for a place that proves less is more you've found it.

John & I were the first people to stay at the Jewel and knew we had found a place that we could come back to year after year. The price is right so we can spend more than a week too. Jamie & Bill are great hosts, sharing their love for the island and all it's secret" spots for snorkling and beach combing. The Jewel is relaxation at it's best. Weather you're sitting on the lanai in a hanging chair or inside gazing at their wonderful art work, you are relaxed! Take a short walk to see whales breeching and some of the best snorkling I've done. A great get-a-way from the gray sky's of Washington. We'll be back next year!

My husband, daughter, and I had a wonderful and relaxing vacation in Bill and Jaimie Perry's Milollii cottage. Everything we needed was there, except for the food we brought with us. We never wanted to leave. The cottage was clean and Bill and Jamie are exceptional hosts. We loved the quiet, no frills atmosphere, and the snorkeling and the beaches were lovely. This is the place if you want to relax away from the hubub of Kona. We will be back

We truly enjoyed Bill & Jamie Perry's Miloli cottage and their hospitality. They have decorated with their own wonderful mosaics, combing tiles, sea shells, rocks, glass into magical art forms. A bonus is the nearby (walking distance) access to snorkeling which they will gladly show you. If you want inexpensive rates, quiet, non-touristy accomodation, no frills, this is the place.

The Jewel is wonderful retreat from the hustle of city living. The mosiac work in this cottage is museum quality and brings the hawaiian ocean beauty indoors with fabulous colors. You can hear the waves breaking on shore as you lay in bed at night and the sunsets are spectular. The breeching whales and spinner dolphins seen from the lanai were breath-taking. We will be back again & again & again...

We loved our stay at The Jewel and we will be back again. The inside of The Jewel is full of fabulous mosiac work of hawaiian fish, breeching whales, seahorses, etc. The view is wonderful from inside the cottage and out. Watching the beautiful sunsets and hoping to see a green flash is always exciting. We walked 2 blocks to great snorkel spot and could hike 10 minutes to a great private beach. We collected great shells from all around the area and watch whales daily from the lanai. The Jewel is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Hawaii.
