Everything you want or need!

Our stay at The New Frontier was fabulous! We enjoyed the hot tub after a good hike to Ramsey Cascades and the next day after Rainbow Falls. The cabin has everything you could need, and lots of homey, finishing touches. The view from the porch is nice, and the swing and rockers provide a great serene experience of God's country. This place is a great location for us, as we like the Greenbriar area, and could drop down one direction and be quite close there (20 minutes) we could make it to the sugar lands for exploring in about 30 minutes with downtown spring traffic and we could drop down the other way and head into do some gem mining or go carts in about 20 minutes as well. We'd stay here again for sure. Debbie was very pleasant to work with and the details you see and read about are all quite accurate.

We have been coming to Gatlinburg for the past 13 years and have always rented a cabin for our stay. We usually a rental company and have been pleased. This time we used VRBO and found Debbie's cabin, and we are so gald we did!!! It was everything as described and more. The photo's do not do this cabin justice, it was very well maintained, beautifully landscaped, perfectly secluded and clean, and I mean clean! It was the most peaceful experience we have had, the only thing we heard was the leaves falling! The owner (Debbie) was a pleasure to deal with and so very friendly. If you are looking for a peaceful get away that is close to everything, this is the place for you! We will definiately be returning in the near future for another visit to the New Frontier!!!! I highly recommend this place.

Peaceful, lovely haven of rest!

My husband and I planned a trip to meet our son for a visit...so we travelled to Gatlinburg from the desert in AZ. We were met with the most wonderful gift when we opened the front door to this cabin tucked away in a peaceful wooded setting. Debbie has created a warm and comfortable home with all of her inspiration and special touches. We had 3 rainy days but didn't mind at all! The worst thing was we wished we could have stayed longer. God bless you and thank you for sharing your heart and home with us. Thanks to Sheila too! I loved talking to you by phone the morning we left! We look forward to coming back! Janet & Greg

We had a wonderful time. This is by far the nicest cabin we have ever stayed in. The cabin was well maintained and very clean. Our whole family enjoyed it. Next time we are going to try and stay longer if we can find the time. The directions Debbie sent was better then using a GPS we tried that, dont bother. Thanks Debbie

This was out first experience at renting a cabin and we were not disappointed! Debbie has it stocked with absolutely everything you would need. It's truly a pack your clothes/food only type of vacation. It is beautifully decorated and the cabin is located in a quiet, beautiful setting. We would not hesitate to come back!!!!!

We just returned home form a 3 night stay in the New Frontier. It was exactly as described and pictured. The location is private and the cabin is gorgeous. Everything you could possible need during your stay---and I mean EVERYTHING- is in the cabin. The owner was wonderful to communicate with and she has sdone an amazing job in decorating the cabin. It was perfect for a Father's Day get-away with my parents and our teenage son. Eventhough there was 5 of us, we all had our own space and never seemed to be in other's way. I would highly recommend this cabin to ANYONE. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Mother's Approval

Guest: Kimberly Marie (Batavia, Ohio)
Date of Stay: 05/13/11 Review Submitted: 05/21/11

This is the second visit to Debbie's New Frontier Cabin. I found this precious gem when we were forced to relocate our Girl's Weekend following the floods in Nashville last year. I knew I had to return with my family and can honestly say it was like arriving home all over again. My family and I have rented many cabins over the years and this received Mother's approval as being the BEST ONE yet! Debbie has thought of everything with this cabin that I don't feel the need to pack my kitchen any longer or things to entertain my teen girls (14 & 16) and nieces (3 & 6). The cabin is clean and beautifully decorated inside and out with a bonus being the seclusion from the hustle and bustle. You will sleep like a baby!! New Frontier is close to all attactions including Dollywood which we visited Saturday and Sunday to introduce my nieces to everything Dolly has t offer for everyone of all ages. The only downfall is having to share this gem which will limit my ability to rent New Frontier whenever I want. Hope to visit again very soon. Thanks Debbie for being a delight to work with and the courtesy call during our stay. We enjoyed our much needed getaway very much. God Bless

Avoid this one at all costs!

Guest: Susie (Knoxville, TN )
Date of Stay: 03/11/11 Review Submitted: 04/06/11

I would strongly advise against renting this cabin. The cabin owner is most difficult to work with!! When we arrived at the cabin there was a horrible odor to the kitchen that was almost like a sewage smell, the gas logs ran out of gas on our first day there and when we called to report these things to Debbie, she stated she would send someone, no one ever came. After the cabin stay, Debbie refused to refund my security deposit, stating that the cabin was "trashed" although she was unable to tell us about anything that was damaged. I have been renting cabins for many years, from every company in Gatlinburg imaginable and have never been accused of "trashing" a cabin, and have never had a deposit not returned. I am 46 years old with 2 grown children, not exactly the college co-ed who would do such a thing. I was insulted at the accusation. I never signed any kind of rental or security agreement with this rental, something I thought was very unprofessional, and it turned out to be to my detriment. With nothing in writing, Debbie can keep any deposit for any reason!! In addition, another charge was submitted to my credit card (which they apparently kept on file) several weeks later with absolutely no authorization and no reason by New Frontier Cabin. I have disputed this charge and am awaiting resolve. Because of this, I was forced to cancel my credit card to assure no other fraudulant charges would be submitted by Debbie and her company.

Owner response:Susan and her friends did book our cabin. Susan stated to me she was 26 yrs old because we have a policy that the guest booking the cabin had to be at least 21yrs. Susan booked our cabin for spring break. I e-mailed her a conformation letter a rental agreement and the rules and guidlines I also mailed her these, if she did not receive them she would not have be able to get into the cabin the cabin has a key pad and she would need a 4 diget code to get in and a 4 diget code to turn off the security alarm, if she did not receive them how did she get in. Susan has been very untruthful. Our property is under surveillance and monitored at all times. Susan booked and paid for a party of 6 she had 10 in her party she was charged for extra guest . Susan and her friends had a wild party and trashed our property inside and out there were beer cans, champane and alochol bottles every where. They were very intoxicated the gas tank was about 1/2 full they had turned the pilot light off and could not get the fire place back on they were explained there would be an extra charge to have someone come out and turn it back on for them they were not charged for this we state in our rental agreement that we charge for missing or broken items there were both missing and broken items and she was charged for this and was charged extra cleaning fee her security deposit was not enough to cover the damages. The security deposit are collected at the time a guest books the cabin not weeks later and no additional charges were made to her credit card. We have never had anyone like this before and we hope we never have anyone like this ever again. Susan and her friends may not be college students but regardless of their age they had no right to be disrespectful to us or our property. We hope that what Susan has written about us will not let you stop booking with us. We take pride in our property in making it a great vacation of a short get a way for our guest. Just read our other reviews from our former guest and you can see for your self that we are truthful and honest and love what we do for our guest. Thanks, Debbie

Hidden Treasure!

Date of Stay: 06/20/10 Review Submitted: 09/22/10

Our family has been visiting the Smokies every other year for the past 20 years. We have stayed in many, many places throughout that time, but we've NEVER had such a gem like The New Frontier!! Our group---my husband and I, along with our daughter and 2 granddaughters (ages 11 & 12) loved the cabin the minute we walked through the door. Debbie has everything decorated so perfectly that you just don't know where to look first!! Jenny & Meg loved the black bears and horses placed throughout the rooms and slept each night with all the "animals" that were on their bed. The Bear/Horse theme continues in every room and makes you feel cozy, content, and right at home. The framed prints throughout the cabin are quite lovely and so are the cowboy and Indian figurines placed in nooks and cornes. The girls were thrilled to see candy in every candy dish and cookies in the cookie jar! The beds were oh-so-comfy and the bathrooms had plenty of towels, soap, shampoos, etc. to pamper everyone. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, mugs, oven mitts, serving dishes---anything you could possibly need. The washer & dryer are located conveniently off the kitchen, so you can keep up with laundry while making meals. The Master bedroom upstairs is very spacious and the bathroom is adequate. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans, which we happen to like a lot. The other two bedrroms are large and have plenty of drawer and closet space (including hangers). The game room located in the loft area was the girls' favorite spot. Megan commented to her sister "look at the view we have while playing pool." Not something you'd expect to hear an 11-yr old say. The cabin makes you appreciate the view and the total peace and quiet of your location. Sitting in the hot tub on the side porch drinking wine & relaxing from the day's hiking was absolutely heaven. I agree with others to follow Debbie's direction to the cabin....GPS will have you going in a circle. We were a bit concerned at first that the cabin was a bit further out from the National Park, Cades Cove, etc., but hey...we were on vacation and it never proved to be an issue. Debbie called shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was clean and ready for us. She is a very nice gal and a pleasure to work with. If you are reading this review, I encourage you to say at The New Frontier....I guarantee you will not be sorry!

Wow! This was one of the best experiences ever for us! We came to the Smoky Mountains for the first time. This cabin is unbelievable! Not only is it beautifully decorated, but it also is stocked with anything and everything you may need! We were never in want for anything! Each night after exploring Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smoky Mountains, we would come back to the cabin and grill out the best dinners ever! The kids loved the hot tub(and the adults did too once the kids went to bed!) Thank you Debbie for letting us experience your little piece of heaven! We had a great trip, and much of it was because of this great place of yours!

This property was outstanding. We had one of our best family vacations. The home was so well stocked from luxury towels and bedding, to dishes/cookware of all kinds, to over 100 dvds, pool table, games, hot tub. Each bedroom had it's own TV. The hot tub was wonderful and the spa towels were over the top. Paper products and toiletries were wonderful, even had Q-tips. Stop looking for a place to stay...this is it! Oh, do follow Debbie's directions. GPS will take you on some impassable roads. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.

My family could not believe how awesome this property was. It was immaculate, fully stocked with beautiful towels (including spa towels for the hot tub), linens, dishes, pots and pans, including a crock pot (first time we've ever been to a home with one), wonderful soaps and all the things you would expect in an expensive hotel. There were even Q-tips in a jar. Can't say enough about this experience..Oh, yes, and the DVD collection...our grandson had a great time. It is tricky to get to if you use a GPS, so please follow the directions Debbie gives you. They are perfect, just like this VRBO experience! We're still showing pictures to our friends!! Sarah

I rely on guest comments when looking for vacation rentals. They did not let me down. My friends and I just returned from our "Granny" weekend at " The New Frontier" . This cabin is the "best". Comfortable does not describe it adequately. Everything you could possibly need is frunished for you. The kitchen has everything. The linens and towels are the best....It simply leaves nothing to be desired. Thank you for sharing this wonderfully private, gorgeous cabin.

We came to the mountains for the first time and fell in love. We had such a great time. The guys were able to grill while the girls played cards, pool, or just sat in the hot tub. It was closet enough to town to go and get something, but far enough so we didn't get into any traffic. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were comfortable. We felt right at home. I highly recommend this place.

We visit the Smokies often, and have stayed in many different cabins throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. This is the first time we have felt compelled to leave a comment about a cabin that we have stayed in. It was exceptionally clean and well decorated. There was more than enough of EVERYTHING! The DVD collection was extensive...just like having Blockbuster right in the cabin!. From the pool table to the PS2, to the board games, to the toy chest full of toys, puzzles, and coloring books for the little ones. The little touches really made this cabin stand out above the rest, like cookies in the cookie jar, and bowls full of candy scattered about the cabin. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer than we did. We would definetly stay here again and will recommend it to our family and friends! Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one.

We stayed in your beautiful cabin the first weekend in October and had a wonderful time. Our children and grandchildren were with us and they found plenty of entertainment to keep themselves occupied. The scenery surrounding your cabin is absolutely beautiful. We hope to be able to return again next year. You have done a great job in your cabin decorations and have gone out of the way to have everything that one would need readily available. Thanks for helping us have a great vacation. Don and Nicki Haynes Childersburg, AL

We had a nice relaxing weekend at this beautiful cabin in April of 2007. The cabin really did feel like home and I was amazed at the amenities. From the big screen TV, surround sound home theater system, wonderful decorations throughout, alarm system, wrap around porch and total privacy, this place will please all types of personal tastes. It is very quite at night and the view of the mountains while we were playing pool was awesome. It even snowed a little one morning which made the gas logs feel even cozier! Another thing worthy of mention was how incredibly clean the cabin was when we arrived. This cabin has everything you need to make you feel right at home. There was also a high chair for those of you with little ones. We do plan another visit hopefully in the fall.

WOW! This cabin was absolutely amazing! It had every convenience you could ask for. The kitchen was so well equipped you could cook anything you could dream up. The home was completely furnished with all the necessities that many places are not (toilet paper, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dish soap, paper towels, bug spray, dishwasher detergent, trash bags). The little touches made it even more enjoyable...from the nice hair dryers in the bathrooms, to the full bars of soap, to the HUGE movie collection (something for every taste and every age), toys for the kids, holiday decorations, MANY candy bowls full of chocolate, cookbooks and cooking magazines, tourism information and brochures...and I could go on and on. Every little detail was considered and the home was made to be comfortable and to truly feel like home. The beds were amazing and the cabin's location was convenient to the parkway and also was very private. It is even a great lot to go hiking in! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

This is an absolutely fabulous cabin. We had everything we needed to even cook our Thanksgiving dinner. It was wonderful. We stayed for five days and were relaxed and comfortable every minute. The beds are very comfortable and spacious. The wrap around porch is beautiful and the view from the hot tub is great. It's in a great location to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and have several ways in to avoid the traffic. We had 6 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room. It had every luxury I look for when going to the mountains. The gas fire place was wonderful. We had a great time and hope to go back soon. This is definitely a great place to stay. Please email me any questions you may have. You won't regret a second staying here, it's perfect.
