In addition to all these wonderful outdoor activities, Bear Lake also has on-site dining, pool, tennis courts, fitness center, golf course(Nicklaus designed)and a plethora of planned activities, including champagne lake cruises, guided nature hikes, BBQs, live music, white water rafting and much more.
Bear Lake Reserve is located between Cashiers and Sylva, North Carolina, and is forty minutes from Highlands, North Carolina. Our cottage is the perfect place for you to come make special memories with your family and friends. It features a great gourmet kitchen perfect for cooking up memorable savory meals. A beautiful screened in back porch and outdoor stacked stone fireplace, which begs for you to come, sit and relax while listening to the flowing stream in the backyard. Three spacious bedrooms are the perfect accommodations for multiple families, featuring one king bedroom, one queen bedroom and one queen bunk bed bedroom (yes, I did say queen bunks!).
**In addition, we just completed an outdoor firepit. These amazing amenity sits next to the creek that runs through our backyard. It is a haven for family fun and relaxation.

Why the Owner Chose Cashiers
Our family has always been drawn to the pristine beauty of the Smokey Mountains. When we visited Bear Lake, the property was merely a vision but we saw ourselves here making lasting memories. We were attracted to all the ammenties, there is something for everyone from hiking, fishing, boating, the pool and golf to relaxing on our back porch by the fire listening to the creek. It has far surpassed all of our expectations, and we travel to Bear Lake as often as we can.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our cottage is on Boulder Creek Lane, a quiet street nestled on the side of the mountain. The cottage backs up to a beautiful mountain creek, and we have built in a path that leads to the creek and a BRAND NEW fire circle. There is plenty of room in our backyard for kids to play, and the back porch with stacked stone fireplace is the greatest escape for the adults. We keep our home stocked with all the comforts of home, including: games, movies, fishing poles, kitchen condiments and snacks, IPOD, etc. At the top of our street is a hiking trail with some of the best views on the property.
The Greeter's Cottage is home to your connection to the outside world while you are here. Stop by to use the business center or pick up a few items you forgot (toothbrushes, snacks, etc.).
Grab your fishing pole, and come fish in the stocked ponds. Or, pack a picnic and enjoy the massive stone fireplace and outdoor pavilion!

A short 10 minute drive from our cottage, the Lake Club is home to the fitness center, pool and boats.
Bear Creek Park is a great picnic spots. Winding trails along the creek, offer folks a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Bear Creek Park also has several tree houses for kids to play in.
Get your sticks and enjoy some of the most breathtaking views offered by any golf course in the Smokies
Grab a kayak or pontoon boat, and pull into this cove where a short hiking trail leads you to the top of this gorgeous waterfall!
