Elegant in the Heart of Paris! Central Air,Beautiful Balconies

Fabulous two bedroom, two bath (one en-suite shower room), elegantly furnished and architect designed Paris home. European fourth floor with elevator in 18th-Century recently renovated building. Mix of contemporary chic with the charm of old-fashioned Europe. Perfect for couples traveling together, or a family group. Central air conditioning, individual room control thermostats.
Very bright, spacious open plan Living/Dining room/Kitchen with 3 sets of floor to ceiling doors opening onto flowering terraces where you can dine or sip an aperatif and watch the sun set over the roofs of Paris. The charm of the old has been preserved, with the moulded ceilings left intact, and a marble fireplace in the study.
Located mid-way between the Opera and the Louvre, steps from the Palais Royale, you are at the very heart of Paris, at home in a neighbourhood of Parisiens, moments from some of the most wonderful sights, and best shopping!
You enter the apartment from a bright lobby. An 18thC armoire will hold your coats, beautiful hardwood floors with oriental carpets stretch in front of you, leading you to the light-filled main salon, with a view of the flowering terraces and the roof-tops beyond.
The Kitchen is open to the Living/Dining room (work surfaces are cleverly hidden from guest view by raised countertops), which means the chef can chat while keeping an eye on the sauce. The work surfaces are granite and stainless steel, with a full size gas range, dishwasher, and everything one needs to prepare and serve a romantic dinner a deux, or lunch for the whole family. Dining table extends to seat 8. Flat screen TV with cable, leather club chairs, cream sofa, a mix of antique and contemporary.
Bedrooms face onto quiet courtyard. Master has leather bed, wall of closets, second TV, slate tiled en-suite shower room. Guest has double bed, marble tiled full bath across hallway, washer and separate dryer. All linens are 100% cotton, beds features down duvets and pillows. Extra sleeping in study (pull-out sofa bed) adjacent to living room.(Pocket doors provide privacy when desired) Study has huge desk, doors which open onto ( a third!) balcony, marble fireplace. Superb!
As seen in the Canadian edition of 'More' Magazine, summer 2007, 'Travel News'. 'My perennial Paris favorite is in the first arrondissement between the Opera and the Louvre, and steps from Palais Royale. It occupies the fourth floor of an elegant 18th-century building and from the balcony you can spot the patisserie across the street that daily provides buttery, flaky croissants. Add to this a cozy, sophisticated decor, great book selection, comfy beds and well-appointed kitchen and you have a ready-made pied-a-terre.'

This was our first trip to Paris. I researched all the vacation rentals so that we could find the perfect place to stay. After looking at over 100 rentals, we found our dream place!! The photos looked so enchanting and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to our home for the next 8 nights. We came with our 2 children.. there was plenty of room for us to hang out and enjoy. We were there in August and the and the a/c kept us cool after a long day of sight seeing. The condo was fabulous -Pilarcastro Aug 2009

This apartment , located in the First Arrrondissement near L'Opera Garnier, was a perfect home base for two couples traveling together. The photos and listing accurately reflected the apartment, but the rental is even more charming in person. The larger balcony has a table and four chairs, and is a wonderful place to enjoy wine and cheese or dinner in the evening, or breakfast in the morning. The property was very clean and well-maintained. Linens (towels and bed linens) were of very high quality. Both bathrooms were clean and had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was very well equipped, with a gas stove with four burners, full-sized oven, full-sized refrigerator, and dishwasher. The utensils, pots and pans, and cookware were of good quality; even the knives were reasonably sharp. We prepared three meals during the week, from purchases we had made a the open-air markets. We made use of the washer and dryer on several occasions, and they both worked well, just taking a little longer to dry than in the States. The owner, Bruno, met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked. He also made suggestions for markets and boulangeries and made sure that we could connect to the internet. His wife, Sheila, called us near the end of our stay and helped coordinate taxi service. They also provided a bottle of champagne as a greeting when we arrived. The apartment is near three metro stops, including L'Opera with 3 lines, and 2 others with 3 more lines. It is two blocks from Avenue L'Opera, 3 blocks from a Monoprix, and there are a butcher's shop, wine shop, and "24/7" market within three to 3 blocks. The walk to the Louvre is about 20 minutes if you stroll. Sheila and Bruno were very easy to work with and very professional. When we return to Paris, we hope to rent from them again. My husband and I stayed here the week of Nov 5 through Nov 12 2011. The apartment is incredibly located and beautifully furnished. The second bedroom came in handy for pop-in visits from my elderly mother who stayed a couple of nights at the beginning of the week and my son who surprised us at the end of the week by driving out to see us from his army base in Germany. The washer/dryer was especially nice since I had been traveling in the south of France before meeting my husband in Paris. Of course, Paris is an incredible city with endless amusements, but this apartment made coming home equally worthwhile. We loved the cozy den, charming terrace, and inviting living spaces. The bathrooms were modern and spa-like. We walked to many major sites and only took a taxi when we had a time constraint. In the neighborhood, we loved Harry's Bar (the best place for a dry martini!), the Opera, Palais Royal, The Louvre, and (slightly further) the Musee D'Orsay. The owners were more than accommodating in helping us acclimatize to our new surroundings. The wi-fi, phone service, and kitchen were incredible! We hope to return many times to this wonderful place. Thanks Sheila and Bruno!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
