Casa Do Re Mi is such beautiful home and a very special spot to spend 7 glorious days in the Mexican sun. Perfect space for 3 couples with 3 private bedroom suites. The house is very traditionally designed but has alot of modern updates (wifi, surround sound system, vonage phone). The staff - Ivan, Chayo, and Samantha - were fantastic and really made the experience all that more intimate and easy for our group new to the country. The food Chayo made in particularly was fantastic and a highlight of our trip. We all hope we can return again for another trip in the future.

A vacation dream come true...

We decided to do a trip for my boyfriend's 30th birthday with a group of 6 other, late-20s - mid-30s friends (couples and singles) and Puerto Vallarta was calling. While we were expecting a great time, relaxation and comfortable accommodations, we did not expect the FABULOUSNESS that is Casa Do Re Mi. Reading other reviews, it is hard to believe or imagine what a vacation rental will be like: Pictures can be deceiving, reviews are subjective and you have to experience it for yourself to really believe it. On that note, this house is breathtaking. The pictures do not do it justice and the reviews, including mine, just don't cut it. We all walked in on a Thursday afternoon, stressed with the bustles of everyday life, and by Thursday night, had melted into a puddle of laughing, blended margarita, worry-free goop. Aside from the stunning floor to ceiling views of the ocean, the staff is Casa Do Re Mi's greatest asset. Ivan is the sweetest, warmest and most welcoming host any group could ask for. He does anything and everything and he never stops smiling! He made delicious margaritas (that will soon sneak up on you) and made each of us feel like kings and queens. Dinner at the house was also phenomenal, especially our special lobster dinner and tres leches cake. I would pay close to $100 for that meal at a nice restaurant and it was a fraction of that price. All in all, it was a fantastic trip. We left the house only because we felt compelled to explore a bit but would come home each night for night swims and more margaritas (that Ivan froze for us in advance). We hope to make this an annual trip and thank you Barb for all of your help in planning. I hope this house gives others as much fun and relaxation as it gave us.

WOW, What a find!

From the time we first contacted the owners about booking the villa to the day we departed it was a terrific experience. The photos of the property are great but do not compare with the actual beauty. Casa Do Re Mi is a fantastic venue that is situated on a hillside with a beautiful view of the ocean. The days spent on the property were soooooooo relaxing and enjoyable. There always seemed to have a gently breeze coming off the ocean when we sat down for breakfast and dinner. The sunsets were incredible and accented the pool and gardens below. The food was amazingly prepared by Chayo who could cook on the ‘food network’, Mayela kept things in order for our group of 6 adults and 4 children while Ivan catered to our every need with directions and arranged our extra activities. His evening margaritas were the best! The staff is very hospitable and friendly it made our party feel as we had known them forever and made it hard to leave this piece of paradise. The location provided easy access to the beach, shopping and central city with a taxi stand just down the hill. ‘Life is built on memories’ and we built many memories during our stay. Good Lord willing, we look forward to our next visit.

Cannot say enough about Casa Do Re Mi. The villa was exceptionally beautiful and decorated in traditional mexican theme. The staff was wonderful and made our vacation experience the best ever. I would give the villa and staff 5 stars.

Another fabulous two weeks in paradise. We had to tear Casey's hand from the balcony...she was so sad about leaving. This is the 'best restaurant' in town! We've been like hawks in the kitchen trying to learn a secret or two from Chayo. She is such a gracious lady and amazing chef! Ivan works constantly on the house and grounds while providing us with the best Margaritas EVER ! And I've had some great margaritas....We feel so pampered with Ivan's help and Mayela keeps the villa perfect all the time. Surely you have the best staff in PV! We cannot wait til our return next year.

The owner Barb is beyond hospitable. She calls before you go to make sure all details are covered. The rental contact was clear so all expectations were met. She arranged transportation from the airport so the journey there was stress free. The home is amazing overlooking the ocean. The 3 master bedrooms are roomy and well decorated as are the living room and rec room downstairs. It is very clean. The area surrounding the pool is tropically landscaped. You feel like royalty staying here with the staff. Ivan the houseman attends to your every need and even negotiated a sweet deal on teeth whitening for us. Our cook (sorry I am not sure of her name) made delicious meals and accommodated my vegetarian diet. When we had friends over for dinner, I believe they even ran to the store for the beverage of their choice. We went to the restaurant across the street and took elevator down for quickest beach access. You can hang out there on the beach for drink service especially at happy hour. We found the short walk(less than a block) down to the main street the best way to access taxis and bus. The bus system is easy and cheap. We never used taxis. We also used driver Gregorio for a longer trip and he was great even going on a hike with us. Be sure to go snorkeling with the guy Ivan books. We had a fantastic time. His son picked up creatures off the bottom of the ocean for us to see. There are not enough good things to say about Casa Do Rei Mi. Every time the pictures of Casa Do Rei Mi come up on our screensaver we smile remembering the fantastic time we had.

Lovely villa in paradise

Thank you for introducing us to a 'new and improved' way to experience Puerto Vallarta. We will look forward to making your villa our home many more times in our future visits. Your wonderful villa was enhanced by your experienced and efficient staff. Ivan, took care of our every need, sometimes before we thought of them. Chayo's delicious meals made it hard to venture out. They were all carefully and thoughtfully prepared. Mayela kept everything neat, clean and inviting. and we loved her swans made from towels! When we did venture out, we enjoy Vitea for dinner on the Malecon, boat trip from Boca to Yelapa for the day; walking along the beach and snorkeling with our guide. Ivan was a wealth of information about what to do and the best times of the day for doing it. Watching the whales as we ate breakfast on the terrace was breathtaking. Each day was perfect and so relaxing. That you for making this lovely home available and allowing us to stock up on fun, relaxation, warmth and such a special time together.

We have just returned from a week at Casa Do Re Mi. It was absolutely fantastic; magnificent location, beautiful house with wonderful interior design and furnishings, fantastic pool. On top of all this are Chayo, Ivan and Mayela. The service they provide is 5 star, nothing is too much trouble and Ivan's frozen margaritas are outstanding. If only we could have stayed longer, looking forward to returning in the future.

Our family just returned from a wonderful week at Casa DoReMi. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was perfect - from the air-conditioned bedrooms to the "walk right in" swimming pool. The moment we arrived we were greeted by Ivan who does make the best margaritas...not the mention delicious pina coladas, sangria and mojitos!! We tried them all throughout the week! Staying at a house with a staff is like living the life of the rich and famous. Ivan, Chayo and Mayela took such good care of us. Chayo started our vacation with delicious chile relenos and each night the meals just got better. We had delicious ceveche and guacamole that she left for us when they went home for siesta - it hit the spot until they returned at 5 pm for our nightly cocktails and appetizers before dinner. At the end of the week we did not want to go home. We look forward to returning and are already recommending Casa DoReMi to all of our California friends! Muchas Gracias

We just wanted to let you know we had a great time at Casa Do Re Mi. I think you have one of the best Staffs, they were great. Ivan was always willing to help us with anything we needed. He was very professional and personable. The food was fabulous. We all talked about how great it would be if Chayo put out a recipe book. The magic of an escape from a midwest winter was eagerly anticipated by us all, BUT we were unprepared for the total relaxation of 10 glorious days at Casa Do Re Mi. What a wonderful vacation! This is the perfect spot for family vacations-- you can visit and relax by the pool or go out and do as much or as little as you like. The meals are terrific, the beach and views gorgeous and there are lots of comfortable areas for relaxation, playing games or just visiting. We loved it!

What an absolutely wonderful place to be! After my first stay, I long to go back as often as I can. From the minute you walk in the door, and experience the beautiful views of the ocean, flowers and sunsets you never want to leave. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the cook makes delicious food at every meal. The beach is just a short walk although we are actually happy just being by the pool at the house. I know why they call the house "Casa Do Re ME" - because when you are there, you just want to sing!

We have spent a totally decadent, wonderful week enjoying this beautiful spot ! We loved our meals overlooking the lovely views---complete with whale watching, tropical flowers and beautiful birds. Just a magnificient vacation at your beautiful Casa Do Re Mi. Thanks to the staff, they were so charming and hospitable. We all enjoyed our week’s stay here at Do Re Mi. The house and area is totally charming---loved the décor---and the view. Puerto Vallarta is one of our favorite places to visit in Mexico. Also, must mention the meals---delicious ! and served with such panache…..we’ll look forward to coming back.
