We had a great stay at this apartment in February, and thoroughly enjoyed the place. It has everything you would want, It was clean, very neat, and the bus stop was across the street 5m away. Or five-ten minutes walking takes you to Lauterbrunnen shops for restaurants, supplies, etc. It is also just off the main thoroughfare so it is very quiet. The churchbell was the only sound at night. Would definitely stay here again.Owner response: Thank you Paul for the short and appreciating review . Understand you are a fan of Lauterbrunnen and Jungfrau region or else you would not come to this area from a far away country . In winter the bus is free and you do not have to walk long distance to take the ski bus. From Lauterbrunnen you have the advantage of going to the left and right side of Jungfrau region . You were lucky to have sunshine and snow during the week. The church bell stops ringing from 23.00 to 05.00 so that the people can slee peacefully . Wish you all the best for the next trip .

The apartement in Lauterbrunnen was perfect for our needs, with virtualy every appliance/convenience to hand it was like a home from home. Being a family of 6 adults we were so pleased accomodation which provided completely separate sleeping arangements yet with pleanty of space for family get togethers at meal times and afterwards in the lounge area. This, together with the proximiaty to the vast transport system and all 3 ski areas of the Jungfrau, meant for a superb holiday in this beatiful area. Celine and Augustine were fabulous hosts, providing all the little extras we needed and a wealth of local information to help get the best from our stay. I would have absolutely no hesitation in highly recomending the property to anyone thinking of holidaying in this part of Switzerland.Owner response: Thank you Peter for the nice review. Glad to know that you found our flat convenient in regard to closeness to public transport. This is important for skiers . Now you have expressed your interest to discover the Jungfrau region by hiking in summer. I am sure you will return after having watched my video clips . We always try to inform our guests where and how they can get concessions like ski rent, ski pass of Jungfrau railways, and also the different places wwhere you can get reductions with Guest card which give you during your stay. You are alwas welcome again in Lauterbrunnen .

Without question this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in all my travels. The apartment was perfect for our party of 6 adults. We could not have asked for a better location and greatly enjoy the accomidations. The host were more than helpful and had plenty of appropiate recomendations for out first trip to the area. After having arrived in the area I realzied that we had definitely made the right choice for lodging. Do not hesitate on this one. NO REGRETS!Owner response: Thank you Eric for the wonderful review . Glad to know that you liked Lauterbrunnen and the near by areas. Within one week , you are able to see only a part of the region. Here we have all attractions, mountains, lakes, historical sites, hiking paths, walking on snow in summer, panaroma trains, lifts, funicualirs, river rafting, bungee jumping, alpine garden at 2500 meters high, chalets, waterfalls, paragliding, via ferrata guided tour, base jumping, helicopter sight seeing etc... We spent one week last august and we really enjoy. Everything was perfect: you feel like in your own house. Mr. Augustine and his wife offers you whatever you could need. They have a beautiful appartment which has all the facilities you can imagine. Including a very big TV with 3D, Homecinema, a very complete kitchen with coffe machine, and all cooking utilities, Many books, tourism information, espectacular views of the falls and the landscape... We did a lot of excursions to the mountains, enjoiables biclycle walks all arround the valley... we spent a relaxing time in a place like a paradise! I recommend this appartment if you want to have an unforgeteable holidays! Thanks Very much to Augustine.Owner response: Dear Trini Thank you for the excellent review . Glad to know that you enjoyed Lauterbrunnen and its surroundings . You have so many attractions of nature, history, lakes, etc.. One week is not enough to see all these places . When you do not have enough time to visit all the places , you have the books though in German, French and Englsih , you can have a look at the photos taken by professionals to have a view of the missed places . These books are my collections since a good number of years. One of the best sights from the apartment is the Staubach water fall about which William Goethe, the German poet wrote in 1779: "Song of the Spirits over the Waters" Of the human soul Like water: It comes from heaven, It rises to the sky, And down again To the earth, it must, Ever changing. Flows from the high, Steep cliff The pure jet, Then he dusted sweet Waves in clouds The smooth rock, And receive easy, He boils veiling, rushing performance Down to depth. cliffs loom The fall meet, He angrily foams stepwise To the abyss. In the flat bed He sneaks through the meadow, And in the glassy lake Grazing her face All stars. Wind is the wave Lovely lover; Wind mixes from landed Choppy. Soul of man, How do you like the water! Fate of man, How like the wind!

Celine and Augustine's apartment was superb. We stayed for a week in September and found the apartment spacious, well appointed and very convenient to everything the valley has to offer. It is located in a quiet area of town and slightly off the main street so there was no traffic noise. The views of Staubach falls was outstanding and we were about as close to the falls as one can get without getting wet. Celine and Augustine were gracious hosts. I still correspond with Augustine who was extremely friendly and helpful in finding the best hiking trails and attractions in Lauterbrunnen. I would recommend their apartment to anyone. We shopped hard and found the value hard to beat. The flat was super clean and tidy--we just loved the place and hope to return!! JOHN AND SUZANNE E./NEWARK, DE, USAOwner response: Thank you John for the wonderful review . I realized that you are are an avid hiker . That is why I suggested those trails through which I have gone thru and have have taken video clips and put them on You Tube.. The best ones are Eiger trail- Eigerkletcher to Alpligen ,Jungfrau Trail - Eigergletcher to Kleinescheidegg, Panaroma Trail from Alemendhuebel to Winteregg , Winteregg to Muerren , Stehelberg to Gimmelwald to Muerren , Lauterbrunnen to Isenfluh etc... These are only a few to mention as you you have 500 kms to hiking paths in Jungfrau region of which I am still discovering and exploring . Now I have put a Tasco Binocluars for the guests to admire the Staubach waterfall, Grosshorn mountain and Wngen village from front balcony . If you look with it , you really feel that the water is falling on you . You need to walk 8 minutes to reach the railway station . In winter the bus stop is opposite to the building . Besides we have Nordic sticks in the apartment for use of the guests .

I stayed in this great apartment for one week last July. I was traveling alone and always felt very safe and secure there. The apartment was well appointed and had everything that I needed for a great independent stay. The beds were comfortable which is always important to me. The WiFi worked perfectly. Augustine and his wife did a wonderful job explaining the workings of the TV, Wifi, etc. I had absolutely no problem with anything while staying there. Though I stayed alone, the apartment was very large and could easily accommodate 4-6 people comfortably. The owner also gave me lots of tips about the area. He was readily available if I had any needs or questions of any kind. The location of the apartment was very convenient. The view from the balcony was superb. All in all, I would strongly recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a home away from home in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley.Owner response: Thank you Susan for the nice review of your stay in apartment . Though alone , you have so many things to watch or observe from the apartment . Wengen village, Maenlichen top, the trains going up to Wengen and coming down to Lautberunnen, Gross horn mountain, Staubbach waterfall , Weisse Lutscine river etc.. Goethe the German visited the waterfall in 1779 and was inspired to write the poem : Spiirted Song over the Waters . The trip you made to Isenfluh and Sulwald must have been exciting to watch the mountain trio . Eiger , Moench and Jungfrau. from there . Very few peopple go to this place as it is not included in the Junfrau mountain pass . Glad to know that you were able to leave Lauterbrunnen with a note of satisfaction .

We stayed at the Lauterbrunnen apartment for 4 nights. It was a very central location for rail travel. We had a very pleasant stay, the apartment was very clean and very well furnished. The one bathroom was a problem at times. The owners were very cordial and easy to get along with. Everything was within walking distance. I would recommend this rental as it is a reasonable price. Adrienne Kobza, TexasOwner response: Dear Adrienne Thank you very much for your kind review. Our guests find Luterbrunnen , the center point for their voyages not only in Jungfrau region but also to dfferent parts of Switzerland . Some told me that they have been to Zurich, Bern, Luzern , Geneva, Lugano by train and return on the same day to Lauterbrunnen . Others make daily long distance trips thru Susten , Grimsel, Neufenen mountain passes by car and enjoy the beautiful panaromas of the high mountains . As the public transport system is good, you can also manage without a car in Lauterbrunnen . We have built a second toilette with shower , and wash basin in December 2012 . As different types of workers are involved , it is not easy to get a quotation and start the work . Glad to know that you have seen the cows in Gimmelwald though we had several occsions here in Lauterbrunnen to watch the descent of the cows from the high mountains at the end of the summer .

Be assured, this is a well run property and you will not be disappointed. All the needed appliances, fixtures and supplies are there. The listing and pictures are very good representations of what you can expect. The flat is very comfortable and feels more like your staying at a friend's flat than at a rental. In addition to the amenities and appliances listed, there is a wall full of travel picture books and a large flat screen TV with a nice assortment of kid and teen movies (including 3D movies and 3D glasses). That helped to entertain the kids when we had a run of rainy days and had to wait out the weather. The kitchen and bathrooms are spotless. Beds and linens are good quality and appropriate for a family-budget accomodation. Augustine, the owner was extremely helpful and made sure we had whatever we needed. His tourist guidance and information REALLY helped to make the most out of our first stay in the area. He went above and beyond to offer recommendations and infiormation. The location is great, close to the train station. The church bells, waterfalls and general scenery are all very soothing. And there's a remarkable campground just 5 minute walk down the road. It offers a good food mini-grocery, laundry machines (don't despair: there are machines in 3 different locations among the grounds!) and a great family oriented restaurant (includes take-away menu). The Co-op food mart is next to the station. The owner lent us a food/laundry cart for our stay. (ask if it will still be available to use). I highly recommend this listing for its cleanliness, family-value, comfort and helpful owner/proprietor.Owner response: Thank you Patrick for your excellent review. Glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay in Lauterbrunnen which was your first Swiss experiece. It is a pity you missed the Moensch Hut walk of 1.30 hrs from Jungfraujoch on snow in summer . Believe you have used the Jungfraubahnen pass of 6 days in a profitable and enjoyable manner. You have chosen the best part of Switzerland for your strip to Switzerland. Jungfrau camp restaurant is an ideal place if you no time to cook where you can get grilled chicken, pommes frites, piza etc.as take away in good packages at moderate prices. You do not have to read the text of the travel books, it is enough to to turn the pictures and you have an idea of the place and how people live there . Children and adults will like the 3D movies in home cinema background . We have books on Switzerland and a few a other countries .

The week we spent in August in the holiday home "Pfrundmatte" in Lauterbrunnen would linger long in our memories. This was our first holiday in a typical Swiss mountain region and we thoroughly enjoyed our maiden trip. Our stay in the vacation home and in Lauterbrunnen at large was full of uniquely pleasant experiences. It was not merely the intrinsic scenic beauty of the mountainous surroundings that made our holiday in Lauterbach a great success. The exquisite and cozy ambience of the well-maintained and well-laid-out three-bedroom-flat also made an equally important contribution to the tremendous success of our holiday trip.We thank the owners for having made this possible. While making an evaluation of the vacation home in terms of location,lay-out, amenities etc.,we realized that it has only plus points to its credit. The chalet Pfrundmatte is so close to the centre of Lauterbrunnen that you hardly require a car to drive around and has thus a fantastic location. The Staubach Waterfall is just within a stone's throw. The famous Trummelbach Waterfalls that once fascinated and inspired none less than great poets like Goethe and Lord Byron are also within walking distance. There is enough space for children to play outside, both in front of the chalet and in the surroundings, though there is no garden. There are 3 playgrounds, all within walking distances from the chalet : the one near the church with several items like swings, taboggans, tables for table-tennis, ladder reaching wooden homes etc.,is suitable for small children ,the second one is the school multipurpose astro turf ground with 2 basketball courts, one land hockey court and one handball court and in the 3rd one there are 2 tennis courts for you and your kids.Excellent connectivity and child-friendly surroundings make it a very ideal place not only for hikers and bikers but also for families with children. There is a supermarket opposite railway station and there are numerous shops and restaurants along the main street.Interlaken is only 20 minutes' drive from Lauterbrunnen. On the whole good connectivity by rail and road and decent location make the Pfrundmatte especially attractive. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.Furnishing is friendly and cozy. The kitchen is well-equipped and provides all modern amenities.A washing machine is also there. The owners speak fluent English,German and French. They are well-informed,helpful and easily accessible..Our sincere recommendations ! Thomas C.Owner response: Thank you Thomas for the detailed and apreciating review of your stay in Lauterbrunnen ( not Lauterbach as once you write ). Lauterbrunnen is the valley of 72 waterfalls and a few of them you can see from the chalet apartment and others while you go with the mountain train . Now wonder Goethe the German poet write the title of his poem as "The song of the spirits over the waters * in the 19th century when he visited Lauterbrunnen and admired the Staubbach waterfall. If you take the hiking path from Lauterbrunnen to Muerren ( 3 hours ) , you will cross the Staubbach stream which falls over the vertical hills . On August 1 ( Swiss National Day ) they have hung the national flag near to the waterfall. For children thefre are nearby parks and swimming pools , mnigolf, tennis, etc..There is a vegetable garden behind the building with a few flowers and plants . And there is a terrace too there where you can organize grill party as you did once . In good weather you can sit there as there is big table with several chairs - glad to know that you have enjoyed Lauterbrunnen
