Dances with Bears Cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico, is a three-bedroom, two-bath log cabin, vacation rental(with a Hot Tub on the deck), which easily accommodates six to eight guests. If you are searching for the perfect vacation rental in Ruidoso, you have found it. Dances with Bears is isolated from other vacation rentals yet is only a short drive to the Ruidoso shopping district, Ski Apache, and Ruidoso Downs.

The downstairs master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, large color television with built-in VCR, and cozy sitting area, complete with chair and ottoman. Access to the master bathroom is conveniently allowed from either the bedroom or from the living area.

The stairs lead up from the entry way to a carpeted loft, which houses a very comfortable futon. A complete selection of family-oriented board games, dominoes, cards and books is provided along with a card table and four chairs.

Two nicely decorated bedrooms adjoin the loft, one with a queen-sized bed and one with two twin beds. The second bathroom is also located adjacent to the loft. All three bedrooms come with portable humidifiers.

A floor-to-ceiling, rock fireplace warms the exposed-log living room. The kitchen is equipped with top of the line appliances, and enough utensils and supplies for even the most elaborate meal. French doors lead out from the dining room and breakfast bar to the tastefully furnished deck.

While lounging in the inviting six-person hot tub, enjoy the scents and scenery of the Lincoln National Forest. Deer and Elk, and even wild turkeys, commonly forage the forest below the deck. After dinner on the deck, keep an eye on the sky as nightfall unveils an astonishing universe of stars.

  • If you are looking for peace and serenity, this is the place to be. Enjoy the beauty of nature in the mountains with all the comforts of home and more. The cabin was spacious, welcoming and definitely a feel of being in heaven or close to it. With kids, it sure beats the hotel, with lots of room and games to entertain the kids. It was home away from home with a more country setting. We loved it. Even though the evenings were chilly it was worth getting in the hot tub and sipping on our favorite glass of wine and enjoying the view. The only thing that I would suggest adding to the cabin would be a TV in the third bedroom.

  • My wife and I were looking for a quiet getaway, but we also had three highschool girls!! The house was perfect! We enjoyed quiet nights by the fire and hot tub, days cooking on the huge deck with stunning views!! The girls enjoyed all that the town had to offer. The layout of the cabin is perfect for kids up (2 bedrooms and gameroom up and adults down) The Dances with Bears cabin is an end of the road property backing to the National Forest. The views will always be there. Upon arriving the house was EXACTLY as the owner said it would be. Everything was clean, fresh and in place. Wood IN the fireplace. Kitchen fully stocked with all items needed, grill and hot tub ready to go the moment you arrive. Easy instructions to leave and my deposit was return immediately upon the maids report of the home.   • We spent 5 nights at Dances With Bears Cabin. It was FABULOUS! When we first walked in, I could not believe how CLEAN the cabin was. I would not have done a better job myself. Plenty of clean towels and blankets are also provided. Not only is the cabin absolutely beautiful but it's also located in a beautiful setting and close to town. There wasn't any snow when we visited but the scenery is so spectacular it didn't seem to matter. We were still able to ski at Ski Apache and enjoy tubing at the Winter Park. I highly reccomend Dances with Bears Cabin!!! I would certainly visit again!!!

  • This is our second year staying in this cabin and we all consider this our home away from home.Everything could not be more perfect.The kitchen has everything you need,minus food,the fireplace that we use every evening-a hot tub that fits all 6 of us.You can rest your head back and look directly up at the stars.A beautiful view from the balcony without any other homes blocking it. I hesitate in making any comments only because I want to keep this our treasured secret.

  • WE HAD A WONDERFUL WEEKEND AT DANCES WITH BEARS CABIN. IT HAD A VERY CLEAN AND NEW APPEARANCE AND WAS VERY COMFORTABLE FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR. THE VIEW OF THE STARS FROM THE HOT TUB WAS GREAT, AND THE VIEW FROM OUR BEDROOM WINDOW IN THE MORNING WAS VERY PICTURESQUE. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO AGAIN, SOON!

  • What a wonderful white Christmas we had at your cabin! The house was so beautiful and comfortable. We saw dear and wild turkeys wondering around the cabin. We have rented homes many times in differnt locations and this is by far the best spot. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great spot to vacation with your family. Thanks again to John for allowing us to rent the house for the holidays.

  • Absolutely the perfect getaway. The "cabin" is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The view from the back deck is incredible! We saw deer, chipmunks, and tons of birds. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer...
