Solitude Mountain Resort is conveniently located a short drive by car or shuttle service from Salt Lake City International Airport. This four-season vacation destination is known for its unusually long Alpine skiing season, opening in November and closing in April. This ski-in/ski-out resort averages over 500 inches of Utah’s lightest and best powder snow per year, has over 1200 skiable acres accessed by eight chairlifts and 64 trails with over 2000 vertical feet of elevation. Solitude also has a fine Nordic Center. With Solitude Mountain Resort as your accommodation, you can easily drive to Utah’s other close by fantastic skiing areas, Brighton, Alta, Snow Bird, Park City, Deer Valley and Canyons.
Our non-smoking, no pet, 'mountain retreat' is an unusually big, exterior corner, third floor unit with two large bedrooms, separated by the living area, and two full bathrooms. It will comfortably sleep six adult guests with appropriate privacy. Both bedrooms have king beds, and the spacious living room has a queen sleeper sofa, love seat, large comfortable chair, stone gas fireplace and large wall mounted HDTV. There are spectacular views in two directions from the corner living room and the large covered balcony porch with table and five chairs. Parking is included in the building’s heated underground garage with direct elevator access to the third floor.
Powderhorn Lodge is located in the heart of Solitude Mountain Resort’s quaint Alpine Village. Our condo has been decorated and equipped for our and your convenience. Both of the bedrooms have wall mounted HDTVs, the living room entertainment center features a large HDTV with both DVD and VCR players. All 3 HDTVs have DirecTV with over 80 channel selections. High speed wireless internet access is provided by our passphrase protected system. Unlimited, free long distance calling for the continental United States, over "land line" telephone. The stereo system has a multiple CD changer, iPod/MP3 player connection, cassette tape player, and AM/FM radio. A small selection of DVDs, VCR movies, books and games is stored in the TV cabinet. Be sure to bring your favorite CDs and DVDs.
The full kitchen is ready for you to prepare sumptuous meals. Food preparation is easy with the convenience of the well equipped kitchen, including accessories, utensils, and cookware. The dining area has a large dining table with six chairs and the adjacent counter top eat-in area has three bar stools. We love to return to our homey condo following a day of skiing, mountain biking, or hiking to enjoy the balcony overlooking the winter ice skating rink with the lighted trees or the summer paddle tennis court.
The advantage of Powderhorn Lodge is the relative quiet and privacy of the building with its own outdoor hot tub. The adjacent Eagle Springs Complex, a one minute walk away, houses the livelier and often noisier Club Solitude. Club Solitude privileges are included with your rental. You can enjoy the outdoor heated pool, summer water slide, larger hot tubs, men’s and women’s saunas, equipped fitness center, children’s activity room including an XBox system, pool table, or watch a movie of your selection in the media room. Books and many games are available for check out.
The advantage of Solitude Mountain Resort is right in the name. Peace, quiet, and solitude for your vacation enjoyment. Ski all day on Utah’s 'Greatest Snow on Earth' and likely not encounter a lift line or hike to a trout filled mountain lake with the occasional deer or moose along the way instead of a trail full of hikers. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the rustic Silverfork Lodge, just two miles down canyon or dine in the fine restaurants in the village, The Thirsty Squirrel, Kimi's or St. Bernard’s. Why the Owner Chose Solitude
We purchased our "mountain retreat" at Solitude because we just love the mountain for skiing with no lift lines and the different areas to ski. Our guests can ski anything from the green groomed runs, to the trees and untracked powder, or off the back into Honeycomb Canyon.
In the summer we are avid hikers. The hiking trails throughout Big Cottonwood Canyon are varied and relatively uncrowded.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Solitude is a resort for skiers, hikers and mountain bikers. There is very little noise and no distractions at night. Come to ski, hike or mountain bike, not for night life. We have supplied our condo to make eating-in easy to do. Enjoy the no lift line skiing, daytime hiking or biking and then the peaceful evenings with your CDs or DVDs.

Wow! It's everything as described and more. From the initial contact with the owners, to their follow-up with all the information a visitor to Solitude could want or need, Kathy and Steve went above and beyond to make our stay pleasureable. The condo was clean, crisp, well maintained and a pleasure to come home to after epic days on the slopes. Ski lockers are convenient, underground parking is a blessing, and check-in was easy, friendly and welcoming. Solitude is a joy and so is this condo and its owners. Disciminating travelers will be pleased - this is a rental not to be missed!

We thank Cheryl and John for their comments. We have a relationship with Solitude Mountain Resort to issue the keys for our condo and handle any concerns that may come up during your rental. The condos that rent with lock-boxes in the lobby have no back-up to handle lost keys or other problems. Solitude is a great destination for skiers. Great snow and no lift lines.

I spent a wonderful 4 days at Solitude with my daughter. The condo was great. Spacious and comfortable. Exactly as advertised. The owners were very accomodating and responsive. The location is unbeatable. The ski rental is right around the corner. The slopes are a short easy walk. My only problem is that Solitude does not have a grocery store. We ordered groceries through a contact from the owner,which worked great. But we didn't have a car, so we were a bit stuck for more food. But not worries. Solitude has a couple of great restaurants.

The condo lived up to its description and more. It was very spacious, very well appointed with some extra touches that made our stay that much nicer. A fan and humidifier were well used. We were able to cook meals easily with all the cookware and appliances provided. The beds and seating areas were very comfortable. We had four in our party but could have easily had 6. All the information we needed was provided by Kathy and Steve. The condo building itself was very well equipped with lockers, storage, easy access parking, hot tub. The complex with the kids' activities made our evenings that much more fun. We will return to Solitude again. Thank you.

We had a lovely time staying at this Condo . We found it spacious , well set out and immaculately clean . There was some noise from the condo above where a family seemed to stomp around a lot , but that was the only small negative. The owners are extremely nice and helpful . The location is excellent , in the centre of the small village but only a few minutes walk to the lift and you can ski back to within 100 yards of the door . Recommended .

Our condo is a third floor unit with great views. We are pleased that the condo above ours is not a rental condo through the resort or privately. The owners of the overhead condo use it infrequently. In a condo building it is not unusual to hear ski boots through the ceiling. Scott's description of our "mountain home" is accurate.

We had a great experience with this Condo. The place is large and very comfortable.The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed and the amenities are great. My kids loved the pools and hot tubs. It's a short walk to the slopes. There's a great pizza restaurant in the Village. The underground parking is really convenient. And the owners were easy and fair to deal with. Solitude is a mellow resort with great skiing and amenities. It's also a short drive (or bus ride) to Brighton--our favorite family ski resort in Utah.

We stayed in the condo over spring break. The condo was clean and a great location. We had everything we needed. Owners sent package with lots of info on where to get supplies and local resturants. Great location also for kids to hang out after skiing.

Powderhorn 310 was a great weekend getaway. Well stocked and very clean. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Solitude. From the directions to the resort to the outdoor hotub. Everything was top notch.

We all had a FABULOUS time in Solitude! We had anywhere from 6-15" of new snow every day except Wednesday, which was bright blue sky and sunshine - just awesome. The condo is beautiful, roomy and very comfortable. All in all, it was a very memorable and fun trip, and Kathy & Steve provided us with so much information on the area ahead of time that getting there and getting set up was effortless.
