Conveniences and comfort abound in this well-appointed partial ocean view home that has been in our family for over 35 years. The house is 1400 square feet with a great floor plan. We hear from our guests that the house has a great feeling to it, it's comfortably furnished with everything to make your stay enjoyable. And that's our intent: comfortable and relaxing. It's a wonderful spot for a vacation!
This home is great for both families and those wanting romantic getaways. With hardwood floors, views of the blue Pacific Ocean and Santa Catalina Island, the house is half a block from the stairs to the beach and the trolley/bus stop. This home makes the perfect spot to relax, live the California beach and golf lifestyle. A great base for day trips!
The master bedroom features hardwood floors, a plush king bed and an attached bath, while the other bath is adjacent to the other bedrooms and the hallway. The second bedroom has carpeting, extra long twin beds, while the third bedroom features a lovely slate floor, and a twin daybed with a twin pop-up trundle. This room also serves as a reading or TV room. We have two portable bed pads (5' thick - take twin linens - surprisingly comfortable!) that add space for two more.
The kitchen has everything you'll need, even spices. Both gas and charcoal grills sit near the kitchen door, with chairs and a table for the comfort and convenience of the grillmaster. There is a large window-like pass through that allows the cook to be included in the conversations and activities in the dining and living areas. With two furnished patios, one with full ocean view, relaxing and dining al fresco are commonplace.
The house is stocked with vacation ease in mind - in addition to abundant linens, magazines and books, sand chairs and beach towels, boogie boards and beach umbrellas, cooler, sand toys, children's books & toys are all there - go ahead, pack lightly! There's broadband internet for those who would like to stay connected - bring your laptop!
Families will appreciate that the house comes with 2 high chairs, a child gate and 2 portable cribs, and that the patio out the front door is gated allowing for contained children's play. There's even a great park one block south!
The one car garage has washer, dryer and an automatic garage door opener, plus spaces for two more cars in the driveway. Two additional parking spaces in front of the house can be blocked for our guests' use. To avoid scarcity & high expense of parking in the Village and beaches, public transportation is easy thanks to the free summer Trolley and local buses. The Trolley and bus stops are a super-convenient half block away.
In walking distance of restaurants and convenience stores, it's easy to get to the many fine restaurants, Laguna's infamous varied beaches, art galleries, shops and art festivals - Laguna provides exploring at its best!
Challenging golf is just around the corner. Less than a mile in each direction are two courses - the hidden, lush locals' nine hole course at Aliso Creek, and the world-class course of the Monarch Beach Golf Links, adjacent to the St Regis Resort. Designed by Robert Trent, Jr. this course has been the host to many nationally-televised events and is situated on lovely ocean front and ocean view property. Truly a spectacular day of golf awaits you!
Located a half hour from John Wayne Airport, one and a half hours from LAX, one hour from San Diego' Lindburgh airport, the house makes a convenient house to reach. A central base for day trips, it is 45 minutes south of Disneyland, and one hour north of the wonderful San Diego area, including attractions such as Sea World, San Diego Zoo and Legoland. The sights, sounds and flavors of Mexico lie just over the border. In addition, the house is one and a half hours south of the sights and cultural gems in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, making Laguna the ideal Southern California location!
If shopping is your thing, the renowned South Coast Plaza and Newport Fashion Island offer high-end boutiques and world-known designer shops. If spending days being pampered is of interest, there are fabulous spas very close by at the Montage Resort and Spa, St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort and Spa, and the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel. There are also a number of very lovely day spas in Laguna that we also recommend.
Laguna has been our favorite place since our own childhoods. We have a book of information and locals' tips about the restaurants and area attractions, and would be happy to share with you our knowledge and love of the area.
We accept personal checks, and give you the option of PayPal, a secure method of transferring funds or using credit cards. Please inquire and ask to see a copy of the rental agreement for all the terms.
We welcome you to come and share lovely Laguna Beach with us, and look forward to having you return year after year!

Great Gramma & Pa drove from Laguna Woods to see us. Gramma flew us in an airplane to build sand castles with us. Mommy & Daddy saw old friends and ran on the beach. We smelled the flowers, searched for sea shells, and played at the playground. Thanks for having baby beds, high chairs and plastic cups! We had a wonderful time! (Ages 3 and 1 1/2) Owners comment - Note that there's plenty of coffee cups, bar and wineglasses too - it's a great spot for the adults as well! We made sure that the house was outfitted for our family, and are happy we are able to share it with families wanting special time together - but hauling the gear is for the birds! For those traveling with young ones, we have two portable cribs, two high chairs, a splat mat, plastic cups & plates and a baby gate to make things easier. Enjoy!Did you find this review helpful? We sure enjoyed the beautiful beach and relaxing, comfortable, clean & spacious environment of your home and garden. This house was just what we needed after the crowds and hectic pace and long lines of Disneyland. The three kids really enjoyed piling in side by side by side in that little bedroom near the garage... we piled the mats on top of each other and used the trundle bed too. Thanks for having the beach toys too... they built great sand castles & buried each other. We had a wonderful time finding purple urchins, tiny crabs, sea stars, anemones, pelicans, snowy egrets, dowitchers and thousands of mussels on a low tide at North Main Beach. A little more sun and warmth would have been a nice gift... especially for the Alaskan kids... but our trip was scheduled around a school holiday break in NY. Thank you for having everything so clean and beautifully furnished. PS - your next visitors may want to try the playground 1 block away behind the Vienese Bakery and drive to Bluebird Park... pretty setting and large playground.Did you find this review helpful? We thoroughly enjoyed our one week at Laguna Beach. The accommodations were ideal for day trips to Disneyland and San Diego Zoo. Our 2 children (3 and 1) loved the space of your home. The weather was warm compared to our Winnipeg winter and we enjoyed wearing short sleeves and shorts in December and January! The beach below your home is spectacular although the stairs can be challenging when you're carrying children. Our visit to Laguna Beach has certainly whet our appetite for the S. Cal climate and geography. We look forward to visiting again soon. Owner note: We highly recommend infant backpacks if going to West Beach, our closest beach - if not, we love the beach at Treasure Island/The Montage Resort, it is one of the best beaches for really little children in Laguna. The rocks break up the wave action and it's very calm usually - even when there's a swell. Laguna has a phenomenal number of wonderful beaches!Did you find this review helpful? How lucky were we to be able to stay at a fellow Junior League of Pasadena's beach house? We had a wonderful week of "sun & fun". The weather was great, the restaurants were delicious and we loved the Sawdust Festival. Thank you for sharing your charming home with our family. We hope to visit again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Our family is from the Pasadena area and the house used to be 'Ahammie's and Ahdaddies' house. We spent our summers with our grandparents with Mom, and Dad would come down on weekends. The house is owned by our parents, and enjoyed by them as well as the families of the three grown children.
Why the Owner Chose Laguna Beach:
This house has been in the family since the 60's and is one of our most treasured places. It's in the northern part of South Laguna, on West street, the first street south of The Montage.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It's a half block from the stairs to the beach, a truly wonderful location in a quiet residential neighborhood with lots of great restaurants and a park within very easy walking distance. The trolley stop is also a half block away, giving hassle free access from our house to Salt Creek to the South, and Main Beach and the Sawdust Festival to the north. Very well suited to families and couples alike, fully stocked for fun turnkey vacations!
