Awesome retreat, Secluded
This vacation rental is awesome. It is a hidden gem up in the mountains on a super quiet lake. We rented a pontoon boat for the Fathers Day weekend and I was a little leary on how crowded it would be-well the most we saw the whole weekend at one time was six motorcraft on the water. The water is very peaceful and calm. The house is decorated very nicely and there were lots of stocked necessities. It is a distance to a store so stock up on supplies before getting in as once you are in you will never want to leave.Kids and spouses did whitewater rafting and zip lining and had a ball. The girls did a jeep tour that showed some beautiful country and the first place he went to was Lake Nantahala! Only one complaint was one too soft, dip in the middle mattress. Had a new grill delivered while there which was really nice. On the grill- its NOT gas. As a extended family vacation group we seldom repeat our location but this is one place we would return to.

Back again to Driftwood Cove
This is our 2nd summer vacationing at Driftwood Cove and we will be back again next year for sure! We enjoy the location and comfort of the house. Our kids love the lake they just spend hours swimming and boating. The home is well maintained and the kitchen has a lot of items to cook with. This year we went tubing at Deep Creek and had a great time. Also went zip lining . Spent an afternoon in Highlands enjoying the restaurants and antique shops. No cell phone coverage at house but we like that ! place does have wifi , didnt want to go back to reality of everyday life,,,, but all vacations must end.

We spent a week at Driftwood Cove and wished we had booked 2! The location of the home is perfect, directly on the lake. We enjoyed waking up and drinking our coffee outside on the porch, just taking in the view of the lake and the mountains. The kids played on the lake all day. We took the canoe across the lake to the rope swing and had a blast. We fished off the dock, and feed the ducks in the cove. We rented a boat from Lakes end and explored the lake - we found a waterfall and hiking trails. We planned some day trips - went whitewater rafting on Nantahala and tubing at Deep Creek. Overall a great week just went by too fast- would definitely go back.

LOVED DRIFTWOOD COVE
Your Lake House was very comfortable and clean. We had 3 familes stay, 13 of us. It was my Husbands 40th Birthday and had a Great Time. We rented a boat and went tubing, the kids fished and went on the rope swing, took walks every night. It was a Relaxing get away. I liked the basement for the kids hangout, The Adults had down time, great lay out. Thank You Karen for letting us use your home we will be back. Sue

Hi Karen, I wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time at the lake house this past week. Your house is beautiful and the lake is amazing. The water was clear and cool but not cold, nor hot... the perfect temperature. Also, it's so isolated and peaceful! We loved it!! We rented a boat, went horseback riding, took the little ones on a train ride, went rafting, some fished and my husband played golf 3 or 4 times! It was a wonderful break from the madness of life.

We stayed at Driftwood Cove the first week of July and had a blast. This is our fourth year coming to the lake and every year it gets better. We have stayed in a variety of homes and the family has decided that Driftwood Cove is our favorite. The location is perfect and the layout of the house could not get any better. We spent all of our days on the water and the house was a perfect place to relax. Everyone in our party had a great time and the nightly ping pong tournaments were a blast. Thank you for letting us rent your home and we will be back next year.

Peaceful and serene
Driftwood cove was perfect for our family getaway - we wanted a week in the mountains but having the bonus of the beauty of the lakefront location was a great. Kids played in lake and enjoyed fishing off dock - we took advantage of all the area had to offer - whitewater rafting at nantahala outdoors center, hiking, morning walks around the lake, relaxing dinners on the deck. Loved the extras house offered - spacious and clean. Hope to return soon

We have visited Driftwood Cove for several years. Our family loves the beauty of the lake and area. The house is a perfect mountain getaway - peaceful, clean, relaxing.... our kids love to swim and play in lake. There is a rope swing across the lake that the kids have a blast with. Its great to have the paddleboat -they fish and swim off of it. I stay on the dock and relax , read and enjoy the mountain view.. Quoted from our guestbook - Summer of 2009
