    • The cottage at Red Hawk Farm is charming, warm, and secluded, yet there is lots going on nearby. Marcia and Bill have outfitted the cottage with everything that you need for a night or several weeks. We especially enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and all of the animals. Our grandson made friends with the dogs, horses, donkeys, billy goat, and.... The cottage is very tastefully decorated, and Marcia will do anything she can to make your visit enjoyable! The only thing lacking???? mobile phone service! But, what more can you want when you're on vacation!!

There is a nice sense of detail, making this a very welcoming environment. This cottage delivered an idyllic location for our visit to the Lynchburg area.

    • We spent two nights at this wonderful cottage. It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing - a perfect place to get away from it all. We enjoyed being able to just step outside the door and take long walks on the property. It was an easy and quick trip into Lynchburg. We were there "off season" but expect it must be beautiful in Spring/Summer/Fall. We would go back in a heartbeat!

    • My sisters and I visit Lynchburg twice a year and usually stay in a hotel. The hotels were fully booked for our recent trip and how fortunate for us that a web search pulled up the Cottage at Red Hawk Farm. It's more like a miniature farm house with plenty of room for the three of us. Two slept upstairs in the king size bed (one sis loved the 600 count bed sheets) and I slept very comfortably on the long couch downstairs. There's a fairly long love seat too. The country kitchen has all the basics - even some farm fresh eggs!! The porch is comfortable. Large bathroom with toiletries... We felt safe... Marcia keeps it all super clean. Night sky was free of light pollution. After a day in town, it's great to leave it all behind in the quiet of the country. It's private but if you need to find Marcia, each morning she's on her 'Gator' with feed for the cows - two Jack Russells and a pug riding along and one large chocolate Lab mix bringing up the rear. Saw deer every day mostly on our drive to and from the cottage (so stay alert). Loved our 'host' dogs. Watched the geese arrive each morning... Ducks in the lake... Horses, cows....I can't see staying anywhere else in Lynchburg now that we've found the Cottage at Red Hawk Farm. Best to you Marcia, Rennie Robbins

    • We spent five weeks at the Red Hawk Farm Cottage and had an amazingly productive and relaxing time. It is a perfect place to read, think, and write (we are history faculty on sabbatical) and both completed a fair amount of writing. There was room for both of us to work--especially with the lovely screened porch. We loved the diversions from work: walking around the farm, greeting the various dogs, horses, and cows. The location is terrific: it takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the Blue Ridge Parkway, and only a bit longer to some glorious hikes. We also appreciated the solitude/rural life at the cottage combined with the easy proximity to Lynchburg where we found some good restaurants and could use the RMC library. Marcia Connell is a wonderfu host: friendly and helpful with local advice (and very generous with fresh farm eggs), but not at all intrusive. We never had the feeling that the owners were "keeping an eye on us." This place should be snapped up for the "leaf season"! I can imagine that one would have terrific leaf views without even leaving the cottage.

    • Words cannot explain how perfect this cottage was for our family. The cottage is cute, clean, and comfortable. The surroundings are breath taking and peaceful. To top it off, the owner is more than accommodating and welcoming, yet very respectful of your privacy. We would highly recommend it, and hope to stay there again!

    • This cottage is a lovely, comfortable, charming retreat...isolated but only a short drive away from restaurants and civilization. Everything is very comfortable, clean, nicely furnished, with a cozy home-away-from-home feel. The combination of mountain views and rural country life was totally relaxing.

    • We just came back from a week at the Cottage at Red Hawk Farm and were pleasantly surpised. It is so charming and comfortable, the setting very peaceful and quiet. My favorite place was the screened porch, where I sat every morning with my coffee. The kitchen was the perfect size for what meals we prepared as we ate out several nights. (Try the Bedford Social Club) The bedroom was very comfortable and a nice retreat in the evening. Great bed (new they told us) with a memory foam topper! It was divine. And I guess what I appreciated the most was that the owners keep it spotless. What a great weekend retreat for those who live near by, or for someone like us, who just needed to get away for a week.
