This house had one of the biggest living spaces I have seen in any of the beach houses (we have been renting for the past 5 years). There was enough room for everyone in our group (12 of us) to sit in the living room/kitchen/dining area downstairs. Walkable to beach. The upstairs den was great for us, the kids used it to play games and watch movies. There is lots of room up there, we had a queen sized air mattress we put on the floor instead of using the pull out sofa. There were not one, but 2 blenders in the house so we had double the fun with the blender drinks. Icemaker in freezer kept pumping out the cubes! All in all, a successfull and enjoyable week at the beach! Thanks for letting us use your home!

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Great for more than one family or families with small childre.

My family & I have actually stayed at this home four times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The home is beautiful and has always been immaculate when we have been there. The floor plan is fabulous as there is a full living quarters both up and downstairs, which allows for privacy for adults and children. We just returned from a brand new condo high-rise, oceanfront in Florida which was supposed to have only the finest amenities. The cookware was no finer than what is in this home. The toaster oven did not work. We have never had any problems with the property at Ocean Lakes, only a bunch of great memories! I sure hope others will try it and enjoy it as much as we do. You are just minutes away from a gorgeous pool and the ocean. What more could you ask for?

We were disappointed

The pictures are gorgeous and the home could be great--the layout is terrific. However, the condition of the carpets and the living room furniture was very poor. The couch was torn and filthy and the carpets were filthy with a darkened trail throughout the home. The main living area furniture, throw rugs and the berber carpets need desperately to be replaced. The kitchen also needs some replacing as the pans and pots are in bad shape from so much use and the blender is ancient and leaky, for example. There is a layer of dust covering the blinds and light fixtures as well as dead bugs in noticeable amounts in the lights. Seems like deep cleaning gets skipped and the weekly cleaning is just not enough to keep up with so much use. We would not stay here again.

Owner response:I'm sorry you feel that way when I get so many positive feedbacks from my guestbook that is left in the house. I have a professional cleaning service that comes in between each family which does a very good job. The service even leaves their name and phone number if they are needed. I don't see the house from May until Labor Day weekend. I am sure by the first week of August the carpets need cleaning from so much traffic because the house has always been booked all summer and many are repeat customers. There is no time between guest to clean the carpet or I would have it cleaned once a month during summer months. The entire house is cleaned inside and out including fresh mulch each year in the spring. Pots and Pans have been replaced 4 times in 6 years and will keep getting replaced as needed. There are also two blenders in the house. I'm sorry you were disappointed.

WE STAYED IN THIS HOUSE IN AUG. 2009, THERE WERE 12 OF US, PLENTY OF ROOM, WONDERFULLY SUPPLIED AND CLOSE ENOUGH TO WALK TO THE BEACH IN ABOUT 3 MINUTES.
