A comfortable cabin with a screened-in porch and an open deck, some fifty feet away from a gently-sloping sandy beach, ideal for children, with no undertow. Gorgeous views of islands and open ocean are available for your enjoyment. Renters have automatic access to some two miles of coastline, most rock-bound but including five sandy beaches. Three miles of wood trails for hikers are accessible. Use of a tennis court can be arranged.
Georgetown is home to Reid State Park, with another mile and a half of sandy beach. It is also home to many fine eating establishments, ranging from a five-star gourmet destination to a sit-on-the-wharf-and-watch-the-fisherman-bring-in-your-dinner lobster shack.
The nearest cities are Bath, home to the Maine Maritime Museum, and Brunswick, location of Bowdoin College, the Maine State Music Theater and a fabulous twice-a-week farmers' market. Portland is an hour away from Georgetown.

Year Purchased: 1986
My husband and I are not professional landlords. We bought this place because it's only a mile away from the cabin we summer in, and it's big enough to house our children and grandchildren. When they're not there, we rent it out to help pay for upkeep, taxes and insurance.

It's comfortable, roomy, has a great view and a safe beach, three minutes walk away, for kids to p[lay in.
