  It was completely delightful - clean, quiet, perfect location and tastefully furnished down to the matching silverware. Immaculate. The cottage was so much larger than we were expecting with a driveway for parking and a gorgeous deck to sit out on. I couldn't recommend it more and am hopeful it will be available for next year's Concours weekend.

  This house was perfect!! We recently organized a last minute trip to Carmel, and completely lucked out by finding/staying at Hummingbird Haven.. . We contacted Carolyn the owner who was so extremely responsive and such a pleasure to work with!!.. We and friends from San Diego showed up after long flights and travels to find that the house far exceeded our expectations.. The generously sized/well apppointed rooms of the house worked well for us and friends who had not experienced Carmels charm.. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were well extremely clean and comfortable.. The large outdoor tiled patio spaces were great meeting places to talk and enjoy the lush gardens that the house offers. The fragrant blooming lavender outside the bedroom window was also a spectacular treat. The house was situated on a quiet wooded street not far from the hustle and bustle of all the fine restaurants and shopping Carmel offers.. We would absolutely stay at Hummingbird Haven again, and would highly recommend to those visiting.. ... It exceeded our expectations! Thanks Carolyn! and wish you all good travels to Carmel!!

  I rented this cottage with my husband and two daughters ages 3 1/2 and 6 months, along with my aunt when we were visiting from Australia. The cottage itself is immaculate and I cannot fault it in any way. It has all the imenites needed, it is very comfortable, warm and extremelly clean. The master bedroom and bath are very spacious and we were able to put a portable crib for our daughter. The closets are huge and held all of our luggage. The beds were very comfortable and there is cable TV as well. We were looking for a place close to downtown Carmel as well as easy access to Monterey. The location is ideal as it is only minutes walk to the shops of Carmel, and just a couple of blocks from Highway 1. I grew up in Carmel and found this location ideal as it is right in the village of Carmel and has all the charm I had been missing. Next time I visit Carmel, I will want to stay in this cottage again, without a doubt. Carolyn has been great and made things easy as can be. Tara Pinochi Australia

  What a lovely place! It is very cozy and comfortable, which helped us relax and have a lovely stay. Just the right distance to town for a nice morning walk for coffee. Both owner and greeter were very nice, responsive, and easy to work with. Also perfectly located for visiting the town of Carmel, as well as an easy escape to many outdoor activities in the area. Would recommend to others and hope to stay again in the future!

  We spent a weekend in this lovely home right in the heart of the village - and it was everything we could have hoped for. Plenty of space for four adults and a toddler. It really is a spacious, clean home. Did I mention it is in the heart of the village? Great location, beautiful tree-lined street just a few blocks from the main commercial drag on Ocean. Master bedroom/bath is huge, great kitchen and a nice fireplace that warmed up the living room on a cool evening. We will definitely be back!

  We had a great stay in Carmel. The house was very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to everywhere in town. We would definitely stay here again.

  My husband & I were looking for a restful, quiet cottage in Carmel after meetings in San Francisco and this home was everything we were hoping for! Gabriel met us when we arrived and was so hospitable & helpful! The house was spotless, well equipped and had a lovely patio. As the evenings were quite cool we especially enjoyed the fireplace. Another plus was that it was an easy walk into Carmel so we didn't have to drive everywhere! No question--we'll be back! Boones from Texas

  My family stayed over the memorial weekend. I concur with all the other positive reviews...kind host, clean, well equipped, nice location.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  This is a great house! The location is walking distance to downtown, the house is very clean, the internet speed is fast, the courtyard is handy when you have little kids, the pictures are accurate, and Carolyn is a notably good host. We stayed a week with our 2 and 4 year old children and everyone had fun. We even forgot to pack an iPhone charger and Carolyn lent us hers for a few days. That’s service!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.
