Why stay in a condo, when a charming lake front property provides all of the those comforts with the additional benefits of close proximity to lake, a private tree-lined setting, and your very own 'swimming hole'?
Welcome to the "Blue Heron Cottage", located lakefront on the Big Niangua of the Lake of the Ozarks near Camdenton, Missouri (yes, that's the quiet end of the lake). Our charming 4 bedroom / 3 bath house includes plenty of room for guests.
Outdoor highlights include a large deck, framed by trees, overlooking the water. This outdoor seating area, under the stars and cedar trees makes for great late-night star gazing. The dock is great for fishing or swimming ... and there's also a stone firepit lakeside so you can enjoy the outdoors around a campfire if you desire.
Inside there's plenty of room for food preparation in the spacious kitchen with all new appliances, and the great room includes a marble fireplace for cozy indoor gatherings. Owners use the place also, so it's well-stocked with all the utensils and amenities to make it your home away from home.
Sleeping arrangements: Master bedroom (with attached bath) King bed (sleeps 2); bedroom 2 has queen bed (sleeps 2); bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds which can be moved together (sleeps 2); bedroom 4 has a set of bunk beds and a single bed (sleeps 3).
Fishing and swimming are available off of our large dock, which includes an open slip if you have a boat you'd like to bring to the lake.
We're located nearly adjacent to Old Kinderhook, so great golf is right around the corner if so desired. And yes, there are plenty of Blue Herons that frequently visit!
We look forward to hearing from you!

Charming Lakefront "Blue Heron Cottage", Including Dock Slip!
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Camdenton
Born in the area and grew up spending summers here after moving away in childhood. Love the quiet end of the lake, the easy access to Ha Ha Tonka state park, and the custard stand that we can boat to in the evenings for an ice cream!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Nice deck overlooking the lake, lake-side fire pit, great fishing off of the dock.
Great afternoon treat ... also friendly staff and gasoline available for boats and PWCs.
Boat or drive to Ha Ha Tonka and then 'cove out' (anchor and swim) or park at the docks and hike back to the natural spring or up to the Castle.
Great destination by boat on a hot summer day ... always cool in the cave, and the tour is always fun.
Owner's Map of Camdenton
We love spending time at the lake with extended family that lives in the Camdenton area.

"We had a wonderful time at the Blue Heron! Everything we needed was there: great dock, comfortable lodging, kitchen, grill and the fire pit for those chilly evenings in the fall. We enjoyed playing Old Kinderhook, which is about 2 minutes away, and fishing (successfully!) from the dock. The owners are great to rent from, and I hope we can return soon!"

"It was a pleasure to deal with you and be able to use your place for that last week in June. The layout of the place was really perfect for what we needed. The three boys used the room with the bunk beds in the lower level, the grandparents and ourselves in the upstairs bedrooms. In addition, this was our first visit to the lake and it was a really nice place to be with great fishing right from the dock. Our seven year old is proud to say he caught the largest fish (16 inch bass off the dock). We had a great time exploring the water and state parks via the boat as well. There are truly some beautiful sights to see within a short distance via boat or car!"

We opened the front door and went "WOW"! We've rented at the lake before, and frankly paid more money for places we didn't like near as much. Thanks!
