The Romantic Bungalow is an exceptional Beach House located on
highly desirable Banks Road along the Atlantic Ocean with miles of
empty gorgeous beach in either direction. The house sits on a
gorgeous palm tree studded sand dune with the lapping waves of the
ocean just a few feet away. The house is so close to the water you
can actually see fish in the water from both bedrooms, the kitchen
and the living room! Lush tropical landscaping covers the grounds on the outside, while colorful walls and trim give a very lively and fun Caribbean atmosphere on the inside. Warm tropical ocean breezes will keep you feeling cool and cozy all day and night...or maybe too many Kaliks will do it, the Bahamian beer of choice! The home is conveniently located in the middle of the island in North Palmetto Point. The best restaurants, bars, live music, grocery stores and gas stations are all close by which is really important on an island that is 110 miles long with limited infrastructure like Eleuthera. This Gorgeous Bungalow was completed in 2006 and is one of the most popular homes to rent in all of Eleuthera! It’s perfect for families, couples or honeymooners.

Our secluded beach has some of the islands best snorkeling, fishing, sea shelling, beachcombing, lobstering, spear fishing and of course relaxing! There is a huge 60 foot deck with lots of deck furniture running along the back of the house sitting right on a sand dune just feet from the water making you feel like you are on a cruise ship not in a house! Speaking of cruise ships, they glide by day and night providing beautiful lights under the stars.

Conveniently located just 12 minutes South of Governor's Harbor and only 25 minutes from the airport make it a perfect location for exploring the island to the North or South. Where you choose to stay is a huge decision because if you are not staying in the right area you can really be isolated from the basic necessities. In addition to the best restaurants, etc, being close by, the only "Pick Your Own Fresh Farm Vegetable Market" on the island is a 5 minute drive from the house. The Caribbean side of the island's nicest beach is also only 5 minutes away, so if one side of the island is too windy or too hot you can go to the other. You get the best of both sides of the island in one location.

You will definitely need to rent a car no matter where you stay on
Eleuthera, remember it's 110 miles long. We have a special
discounted car rental rate of $300 per week. Your car will be
waiting for you at the airport when you arrive and you can drop it
off at the airport when you leave, which will save you money on
taxis and hassles.

  • We just returned from a wonderful week at Romantic Bungalow- what a great house and gorgeous location. You couldn't ask for a better place. It was so close to the water and the breeze and the sounds of the surf were unbelievable. We had a great time. I highly recommend this rental!

  • We just returned from a wonderful week long stay at Romantic Bungalow. The house is nicely decorated,clean and very comfortable. Weather couldn't have been better, not too hot, just warm and breezy every day. The snorkelling was amazing, right in front of the house. The underwater life is spectacular. We were lucky enough to see a manta ray gliding by over the coral. We stayed over Christmas and the locals were friendly and festive. Met some really nice people. Explored the island from top to bottom, got some great pics and memories. We will definately go back Thanks Tommy, your place is super!

  • Found this home to be lovely, well appointed, and a great value. It is unbelievably close to the water (similar to Sable Rose nearby), with good snorkeling off the beach. In a cluster of six homes, so perhaps not as private as some, but nicely decorated, clean, and open to the views and breezes. Down a very bumpy sand track, but that is part of the adventure!

  • Great house - right on the water, clean and in good condition. The location is several miles down a single track road through the brush, yet has neighbors right around. For something so off the beaten track, we would have preferred more privacy. There were people on the beach at most times, and people across the road crossed very close to our decks to get to the beach. Lack of public water supply and no TV channels or phone service were different than we were used to, but the closeness of neighbors helped reduce some of the lack of connection with the outside world. If you are looking for total privacy this isn't it, but if you to be away from the world, yet still have some civilization close by this would work. We would consider returning, and are pretty particular, so that says alot. It's not a perfect location, but has lots of very redeeming qualities. We loved Eleuthera in general. The people were extremely friendly and we always felt safe. If you are looking for nightlife and lots to do, this won't be it. If you are seeking privacy, a small town feel, and a quiet place to relax, this island would be a good option for you. The property is in the middle of the island, so is in a good location for exploration day trips north or south.
