Welcome to Marina Breeze, our delightful waterfront condo in Slidell, Louisiana. The condo is conveniently located less than 5 minutes from I-10 @ Exit 261 (Oak Harbor/Eden Isles area) and offers a quick commute to New Orleans, approx 25 mins.
We now offer 2 rental options:
~ Option # 1 - Reserve the condo as a 2 bdrm, 2 bath condo that sleeps up to 6 guests with a King-size bed, Queen-size bed, and Queen-size sofa sleeper;
~ Option # 2 - Reserve the condo as a 1 bdrm, 1 bath condo that sleeps up to 4 guests with a Queen-size bed and a Queen-size sofa sleeper.

Just 30 minutes to get to everything, New Orleans, the gulf coast or the NASA rocket testing facility and museum. We also took a tour of the Oak Alley Plantation which was about 1 hour from the condo but it was worth the trip. The condo had everything you needed on your arrival except food however there is a grocery store just minutes away.

The condo was the right size, had a great balcony that we enjoyed our own version of a "crawfish boil" on.( Do yourself a favor and take a trip to Kenney's and purchase the fixins for a boil). I enjoyed the small touches such as a game closet( we played many. and made memories which is what vacation is for), the basket of books, magazines, and movies. There was a pantry with the basics, if you had forgotten something ( coffee, sugar, creamer, even flour sugar and some staples such as spaghetti et). There were plenty of utensils and cookware to cook a large breakfast one morning. The location is great for the price near New Orleans. We traveled back and forth several times and we enjoyed the view each time, it was approximately a 20 minute drive to downtown. Val and Renee were very easy to work with. Everything was set out in the email instructions and was very simple. I will rent from them again.

We very much loved this condo. Beds very comfortable, I would say I travel all over and this one left salt, pepper, other spices. It was a perfect place to stay. We had a nice surprise on Saturday there was a boat parade. I would definitely stay here again. Also the owners were great to work with. Thank you again for sharing your place. Lisa

This was a very comfortable condo. The beds were in excellent shape, the kitchen had everything one could need, and the television had many channels and excellent reception. The condo is well located, close to New Orleans and easy access to the Mississippi coast and nearby golf courses. The traffic noise from Interstate 10 is a bit loud, but after a while, you get used to it.

Upon arrival at the owner's condo, we immediately realized that it had not been cleaned. I called the owner and he said he would send a crew over. One nice, young lady showed up and told a different story than the owner. Then, she said it would take her 3 hours to clean the condo-at this point we were furious because it interfered with our plans. That's when I called the owner back and asked for a discount due to neglect of reviewing his calendar. He said that he didn't understand why we were so upset and offered to give us a refund of a whopping $27.00, which wouldn't even cover our meal for hanging out a resturaunt for 3 hours. But, he knew we couldn't find anything else that would be available because it was Sugar Bowl weekend. In the end, he actually hung up on me which told me that he didn't care about his renters. I will never stay there again because of his rudeness.

Owner response: We hope all of other excellent reviews speak for themselves. We pride ourselves on offering great customer service and providing a lovely vacation property that has enjoyed many repeat guests over the past 8 years. With that said, our cleaners, unfortunately DID miss this cleaning. They didn't realize it was a back to back stay but once they were informed of their error they promptly sent a cleaner to the condo to do a thorough job. The guest did ask for a discount, but one we felt was unreasonable. We offered to refund the $100 cleaning fee but they wanted over $300 refunded. And, they threatened to leave a negative review. We strive to resolve all cleaning and maintenance issues promptly, as we did with the guest. However, we were not going to be coerced into giving them over 1/2 of their rental amount back due to a brief delay in the condo being cleaned. The guests were able to check into the condo on time and our cleaner worked around them to get the condo ready as quickly as possible.
A group of 5 adults chose this condo for a one night stay before our cruise out of the Port of New Orleans. The condo was up to date and clean. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the deck. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area again. Thanks Val and Renee!

I certainly would have given this property 5 stars, but we ran into some challenges upon our arrival. The condo was a little less than OUR definition of clean. However, the owners were pretty good in addressing our concerns and even offered an extra night stay, that we could not take due to airfare, for our troubles. We did not get a night credited back since we could not take the offer. We were close to everything we needed, yet far enough away to find that peace and quiet we so desperately sought out. The view was absolutely amazing, the sunrise and set was breathtaking. The rain view was just as great. I would certainly recommend dealing with these owners, they are great to work with and very friendly. The good most certainly outweighed the difficulties faced. We will return again.

We loved the convenience to the freeway, the quick ride to NOLA, the clean/comfortable condo, and the great deck overlooking the water. Perfect place to stay while visiting friends and family and still having a bit of time for yourself. The owners are easy to work with and very accomodating. We will definitely be back.

When we first looked into a week in New Orleans, I thought staying in Slidell might be a bit too far out of town for convenience sake. It actually turned out to be a bonus. It's perhaps a 30 minute drive into New Orleans so getting to the major NO sites is easy. Plus, it's a nice break from the crush of the French Quarter. The location is fairly quiet, the marina area is well maintained, the view from the deck is stunning, and grocery stores/restaurants are a 10-15 minute drive away. Staying out-of-town also made driving to some of the outlying attractions easy (hint: go see the Oak Alley Plantation and take a Cajun Encounter swamp tour). The condo was clean & fairly well maintained, the kitchen is just the right size for quick meals, and I'm going to miss morning coffee on the deck.

About the owner: We are Val & Renee Morel, owners of Sea and Sky Rentals dot com. Val & I are both native New Orleanians. We grew up in the New Orleans metro area, both on the Southshore of Lake Pontchartrain. I grew up in Gretna/Harvey on the Westbank, and Val in the community of Chalmette located in St Bernard Parish. Though we now call Milton, Florida our home, we travel back to Slidell and New Orleans often.

Why did we buy our condo 'Marina Breeze'? We moved to Slidell on the Northshore in 2002, buying a unique waterfront property on Carr Dr. We lost that home in Hurricane Katrina (8/29/05), but had fallen in love with this delightful waterfront community, Slidell. Though we moved to Milton, FL after Hurricane katrina, our love for the Slidell area, the lake, the communities of Northshore Beach, the wonderful food, quaint Old Town Slidell, and scenic bayous led us to purchase a condo on the water in Slidell during the Summer of 2006. Obviously, we couldn't stay away very long! We are delighted to be able to share this wonderful condo with you, our guests.
