After searching long and hard on VBRO for the perfect house to host a scrap booking retreat for 8 friends, I found this property and immediately contacted the owner. Anita was so easy to work with and answered all my questions about the house meeting our needs. We needed a LARGE room for many 6 foot tables and lots of room to put our scrap booking supplies! We were really impressed when we walked in to see an incredibly large living area overlooking a gorgeous lake! Upon Anita showing us the rest of the house we were equally impressed, it was so clean, organized and stocked with essentials that our stay truly felt like a home away from home! I would HIGHLY recommend this house, and Anita, for any type of crafting retreat, whether it be scrap booking, quilting, card making, knitting, etc. The large open room is a perfect space and Anita is so helpful to make sure that all your needs are met! We will be back to scrap book again!!!!

Loon Lake is a very peaceful place to get-away. The lake on the south end was still partially frozen, providing a beautiful view from the large picture windows perfect for watching birds and the stars at night. The rental property has comfortable sleeping arrangements, full kitchen and everything you need to escape without concern about the little things. I was totally impressed on how clean, well-maintained and prepared the rental was for my arrival. The owners, Anita and Kevin, are very conscious about making every effort for your visit to be the best from booking to check-out. There were no surprises and business was conducted in a professional manner. I would definitely return and recommend this to friends and family.

Anita truly is one of the best hosts we have ever stayed with when using VRBO places.. The house has everything you need to have a very comfortable stay. She met us and showed us around and explained anything that we had questions about. The view of the lake is wonderful and it was easy to sit inside, on the screened porch, or lakeside enjoying it all. We met friends there who came down from Canada and we kept saying how nice the Loon Lake House was and perfect for more than one family to share. Thanks so much for sharing your house Anita! We hope to return someday.

I always dreamed of spending a vacation on a Lake House. This was my first time in late September 2011. It was a dream come true. I loved the screened porch with no bugs and being able to eat out there. Fixing food was amazing. She had every pan, 2 crock pots, serving dishes, spices, everything you can imagine, all utensils. It was really great. The stars there at night were amazing, just to lay on the dock and just look up and see them, so many and very bright. You could hear fish jumping and the occasional call of birds. In the morning there was flocks of geese flying and calling, we found a tiny tree frog and saw a snapping turtle in the lake. Early morning there were Blue Herons to be seen on the docks overlooking the water. We even had a Loon come in and called as he hit the water. There were ducks there also. The house is huge with a great room and the biggest windows you ever saw overlooking Loon Lake. It was beautiful there. There are 2 futons and one couch that makes into a bed and 2 bedrooms. It sleeps a lot of people. It was restful and beautiful with no running around because there is no need. This is a place of peace and serenity. Every amenity that the owner could think of was there for our pleasure. You could tell she really cared that we had a good time. But the owner went out of her way with toys for us to play with on the Lake. We had a Kayak...the first time I every kayaked and I loved it. There was a paddle boat, float toys and life jackets. The beach is soft white sand into the water. The weather was wonderful and warm. It will always be one of my most cherished experiences. Thanks so much for allowing me and my grandchildren this wonderful opportunity of staying in such a lovely location. It meant more to me than I can say.

Our family (6 adults, 5 children—ages 1 to 9) enjoyed a week of fun and relaxation at this lake vacation home. Favorites included the large kitchen area, BBQ grill, screened porch, spacious living area (just right for board games, puzzles, and videos on the day it rained!), and, of course, the beach. We added many miles to the kayak and paddle boat odometers!

Anita was a gracious host for our 2011 Golf Tour Adventure. We enjoyed our three day visit. With plenty of space in the Great Room we were comfortable and it felt like home. The view was excellent and we enjoyed sitting around on the huge deck and also enjoying the beach. We attempted golf at Deer Park and Chewelah and looked forward to returning to the Lake House each night. Thanks again, Anita for the wonderful time.

I have been going to this house at least once every year for the past four years (twice in the first two years). I never knew I could review this wonderful home. First of all, the owner is extremely nice, punctual, and always there when we needed information or other assistance. Secondly, the house is much bigger than my own home! The most beautiful, large living room with gigantic windows to allow you to see the gorgeous lake. Thirdly, I really enjoyed the extra amenities, which I did not expect during my first visit. The best part is the small, but intimate private beach access with fire pit. This was wonderful when I took my wife, or when I brought friends and family over. I love the people here, the scenery is superb, and the place is extremely relaxing. There are other things to talk about, such as, renting a jet ski, the cool restaurant near the dock (on the other side of the lake), and the casino down the road about ten miles (a lovely small town). If any questions, please contact me at pboggz@hotmail.com. I cannot wait to go again in September, 2011! Thanks Jaime for your hospitality and compassion :)

I've vacationed here a few times with a group of my friends and have formed some of my best memories here with them. The decor is inviting and very homey. I felt instantly comfortable here the first time I stepped foot in this house. And although it may be hard to tell from the exterior photos, the house is very very spacious. As you can see from the photos, the home has large picture windows spanning the front of the house with a really gorgeous view of Loon Lake. I like to wake up early in the morning and watch as bats skim the lake for breakfast. There is also a large open deck which also has a fantastic view of the lake. The house sits literally across a small road from one of the most peaceful, practically undiscovered lakes I've ever been to. I'm from Seattle and am used to seeing my lakes gridlocked with jet skiers and powerboats. But at Loon Lake, I'd be surprised to see more than 2 boats in the vicinity at any given time. The owner of the house takes meticulous care of the place and keeps it well stocked with amenities like towels, dinnerware, etc. She also has a row boat available to renters which is nice if you don't have a boat of your own. There is also a cupboard of board games for those nights that you just want to stay in and bond with your friends or family. The owner is very friendly and helpful whenever help is needed. The location is just remote enough to feel peaceful, but close enough to civilization that replenishing supplies or just getting away to the city is quite convenient. The neighborhood is also very friendly, being a nice mix of vacationers and locals. The locals have a very Mayberry vibe to them, always ready with a nod and a smile. This house was a great discovery for my friends and me and there is reason why we keep coming back. A really great house at a really great location. I can't wait to return...

We could not have stayed at better vacation spot for our large group. We loved the size of your home. The kids had a blast and our favorite was the fabulous beach/lake and screened in porch, this is a fun like no other place I've been to. Thank you for providing a fabulous vacation rental home.

The lake was clear and smooth as glass! We saw turtles and fish. The two beautiful white ducks ate bread right out of our hands. The paddle boat and float/tube was so much fun for the kids and adults both!We ate our dinner on the screened in porch which was large enough for a crowd. If that wasn't relaxing enough, afterward we sat around the fire pit on the beach and listened to the quiet night under a blanket of stars. In the morning we sat with our coffee, sitting in front of those huge picture windows drinking in the serenity of the lake scene before us. Tent camping? What's that???? We had all the comforts of home... comfy beds, hot showers, fully equipped kitchen, large living room, laundry room and so on and so on.....Try it!!! If YOU need a break, then Anita Getaway is for you!
